Sticker Bug

Archive: 7 posts

This is starting to irritate me. This sticker bug is getting on my nerves.

OK' I'm creating an anti-colour level. It's going fine except that there is a problem with the glass to make it anti-colour. I've got to colour it with a white sticker, but this weird bug (at least I think it's a bug) prevents me from colouring the whole thing in. If I make the sticker huge and stick it, the right hand side stays un-stickered and I can't place a sticker on it. If I use smaller stickers and sticker it as I go along, this problem still occurs. I tried using the PotC glass, seeing as it's white, but it's too dull and splitting the glass up just leaves obvious seams. There is probably an easy solution (I hope there is!) and if anyone can help, please do!

I've had that happen too. Try using the corner edit tool to extend the edge where the stickers are disappearing. Usually, that fixes the glitch for me. You may need to extend it unevenly, but it shouldn't be too hard to find a spot that won't show up on screen and draw an extra corner there.2010-03-18 10:20:00

Sadly there is no fix for this bug at the moment, creators like Mother-Misty and Jaeyden have had to figure out ways to hide this bug as have I.

There is however a way to fix this it wont fix the actual stickers but it is a way used to sticker large areas without the bug, Make a small block of glass or thin layer of glass, use the normal size sticker that white, then enlarge it keep scalling it up until it covers your whole level.

Hope this helped

Way to read through the entire thread (all two posts of it ):

Another wierd sticker glitch I've run into is the stickers "jumping" during corner editing. I was doing a complex character cutout using 5-6 overlayed stickers (took pictures with an eyetoy in sections) and after editing a handful of corners, the stickers would jump to the left a bit. You can imagine my frustration when all my edited corners became useless. I overcame the problem by doing a rough cutout using the delete tool (hold triangle instead of X while painting) and shaving a piece off. I don't know exactly why it worked--maybe the cut off piece acted as an anchor or something--but once I had cut off a piece, the stickers no longer jumped and I finished my corner editing.

It's not exactly the same problem, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Maybe a similar approach would "anchor" your big sticker. You might try extending the object beyond where you actually want it and then cutting off a piece.

I have that every time I do a cutout. Had it for many months now. I usually end up having to go round and round the cutout several times moving the corners until the sticker stops moving. Wastes a lot of time and is very annoying.

Also the original problem is something I'm having major problems with in my new level. I want to sticker the background panels but I can't without getting all that annoying clipping and edges disappearing or looking like something different altogether. They edges sometimes even look like stickers that aren't even in the level. For instance they regularly look like a sticker on my costume !! Very weird.

Unfortunately your solution doesn't work where you have to have edges meeting and you can't move them off screen. I've ended up having to just change the material to the closest one that looks like I want and have no stickers at all. It would be much better if we could simply change the colour of the various materials. That must be really easy for Mm to implement. After all we have several colours of glass so why not the other materials aswell ?
