just use a sensor switch and hook it up to the scoreboard... much easier | 2010-03-18 05:18:00 Author: Shhabbazz Posts: 746 |
What sort of survival is it? The main thing is you've got to get the entrance/checkpoint both deactivated and moved out of the play area (if Sackboy goes past it again it will reactivate). So... if possible with your game design (this is why I asked what sort of survival it is) attach your entrance to a block of non-DM material which is in turn attached to a piston that will move it off camera once the game has begun. At the same time that it is moved away, trigger a switch that will activate the ending checkpoint (with the advent of switchable checkpoints, there's no longer a need to move the checkpoint to the scoreboard). Another, easier way to achieve this (if your design permits it) is to have the entrance above the gameplay area (with no way to jump back up to it) and just drop Sackboy into the game. You will still need a trigger to activate the ending checkpoint (presumably a player prox switch set to require all). I don't recommend wiring up your ending directly to the scoreboard though (sorry Shhabbazz). Most survival challenge players will want the opportunity to quickly restart the level if they die, and not have to go through the scoreboard mechanics. Hope this helps! | 2010-03-18 14:27:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |

There's nothing to stop you pressing Start, and selecting "Restart Level" the instant you respawn at the scoreboard. | 2010-03-18 15:11:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |

That set-up should be reasonably simple and straightforward. Glad to help if I can though. | 2010-03-20 00:21:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsbjrXMi0AM Note: This was made before you could directly attach switches to scoreboards or checkpoints. | 2010-03-20 00:27:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
