Why So Serious? - Dark Knight Character design

Archive: 14 posts

Hey guys, I had these for awhile now and I decided to post them. I've done Harvey Two Face and Batman still needs to be finished as I made them a couple of days ago. But for now here's Joker and The Clown Mask which I made in October (and Harvey).

The joker looks good, the clown mask looks totally awesome. Two Face would be a little better if the skull/muscle side of the face was actually smaller than the skin side of the face.2010-03-16 19:29:00

Thanks for the feed back on Joker and the mask, although I had my reasons for Two Face.

To be quite honest the skull side is smaller, if you look carefully the muscles start above the hair line and this is true, but as the hair on dent is long, it covers some of the forhead. To give a sence of hair loss on the skull side you need to make sure the muscle is above the hair line this gives the object a sense of distance towards the back of the head hence the shading. As the line comes towards the front of the face the smaller skull side is now smaller than the normal face, as I've redirected the outline.

as you can see the skull chin is now smaller, than that of the other side. To make things more easier to understand the object needs to flow cleanly from one side to the next until it reachs the starting point to give this sence of major skin and muscle loss.

It's all about a smooth transition, the object itself wouldn't work if it jumped from one extreme to the next.
wow...

Wow, those faces are amazing! The amount of detail is incredible! My favorite out of those three is Two-Face. The amount of detail really brings these faces to life. Good job.2010-03-19 06:11:00

They don't take up that much thermo as they are made from blue wood and most details are stickers, and yes i could make the bodies 2010-03-22 23:01:00
