Once again about corrupted profile

Archive: 3 posts

I saw many posts on many forums about troubles with corrupted profile in psp version of LittleBigPlanet. I had my three own corrupted profiles.
As many time was already mentioned main solution for restore you data is frequently backups to computer. It can help to restore you progress and new levels that you created on My Moon. Main upset after corrupted profile is losing some new creations, that you did during much time and put on it much time and your creator’s skills.
I had my last corrupted profile several day ago. I did backup in the morning, then download several new levels from community moon, played it and then continued creation of my new level. After about one hour in it I shut-down psp and go for my business. In the evening I switch-on psp again and saw message, that profile is corrupted and psp can not load it. All I could do in this case is start game from the beginning or restore my previous profile state. I restored profile from backup and everything was fine. But I lost one hour of work with new level. There are several things, that I could repeat, but it will take my time and can work a little differ, then in first time. So I decided to restore my created level state from corrupted profile. A had two profiles: morning backup and corrupted profile, that appeared during daytime. I compared it and found several new files in corrupted one (these were new downloaded levels) and several files with last changed dates (it was I date when corrupted profile appeared). Last changed were several levels, that are on this list:

92.CBF
92.LBF
92.LVL
92.MBF
92.MIP
CURCOST.CBF
CURCOST.CST

I thought, that if last thing, that I did was changing something in my new level on My Moon, so this files contains my level (they have 92.* names, in other case your files can have different names, but it must consist of digits) and some game settings, that was changed after my creation actions. So I overwrite these 7 files in my morning backup (I preliminary did one more copy of it) and then I move my new profile to memory stick (I preliminary deleted backup from it). When I loaded game I saw my new levels with last made changes. So I found the way, how everybody can restore lost profile data.

I must mention one more time, that you can use this method, if you have profile backup and you want to restore your work on your level on My Moon section after it. And it can help you if you can not load you profile at all. If you can load you profile, but can not enter into your level on My Moon, this method may not help you.

Sorry for my poor english, if you can not understand something, please ask additional questions. I just try to share some information, that you can use in case if you will have corrupted profile.

And let it be all good with world, all of you and LittleBigPlanet on both platforms. Good luck!

Yesterday I mentioned one more bug: if you exit from creator mode back to menu or from some level, that you just finished playing and if you push you psp in sleep mode while in down left corner rolling arrows, indicated, that psp loads something, then sometimes, when you switch psp back to life from sleep you will see message, that profile is corrupted and two choices: continue or not. In both cases whatever you choose "continue" or "NO" - you will see this message again and again, and you have to exit from LBP and re-enter to it. Don't be afraid - there is no any corrupted profile, this is only some small bug of game. But it spend time to exit and re-enter. I had such bug several times and hadn't any corrupted profile. But this bug occurs not every time. What is the reason for it I don't know.
This bug begins after last patch 2.04. Before it didn't occurred.

And one more - if you push psp into sleep-mode in any place of LBP (playing some level, in menu, in creator mode) and then remove memory stick from psp (for example to make backup) and then put memory stick back to psp, in this case I always (I tried it 4 times) had message something about "there is no memory stick with LBP profile in psp, please put it in" and two choices "continue" and "exit". And again in any cases that you choose, you will see this message again and again. Only solution is exit from game and re-enter. And there is no any corruption profile for all cases that I had this bug.
