How to make automatic point systems

Have you ever wondered how to make an automatic points system? Or even want to see one using only one material? Well, you came to the right place. Because this is what this thread is all about.

Steps
1. Pause the game and create a darkmatter rectangle with an emitter on it.

2. Then go to the side and make a square of darkmatter.
3. Then put a creature brain, a magnetic key, and a magnetic key switch on the darkmatter square.

4. Capture the darkmatter square.
5. Go back to the darkmatter rectangle with an emitter on it, and click on the emitter to edit it.
6. Tweak it to where it has this on it....

1.Frequency: 3.0 s
2.Lifetime: 5.0 s
3.Max emitted: infinite
4.Max emitted at once: 5
5. Make it emit the darkmatter square you captured earlier.
6. Set everything else to zero.
7. Press play, watch it do its thing, and capture the rectangle as an object.

1. Survival challenges
2. Minigames(you have to tweak it for minigames)
3. Anything else you can think of

This is much better than my system in my survival. I only have a wheel turning to activate an emitter every time a magnetic key makes a full circle which works but has a limit of 99 emitted (or whatever the max emitted at once is).2010-03-18 09:48:00

Remove the magnetic key, invert the magnetic switch and set max at once to 1. This will probably reduce thermo by around 80-90%, depending which individual thermo you are talking about. There is a (proportionally) huge amount of waste in setting the max at once higher than it needs to be.

Note, that brains killed by switches will add to a multiplier count, but the value of the brains will NOT be multiplied. Other points, prizes bubbles and brains killed normally will receive the multiplier, from the switch-killed brains. It's weird and still causing me a right headache elsewhere. Remove the magnetic key, invert the magnetic switch...

...or better yet, use an inverted grab switch, which ensures a stray mag key won't interfere with the system.

AWESOME, this is exactly what I need! Thanks a million, this is perfect for my Survival Challenge! The design is so simple and obvious, my alternatives were ridiculous. xD
