Quicker briefer ( ive had em for 2 years)

Braces only hurt for me the day when they get tightened (people say im lucky). You dont have to fololow any of those rules. Ichew gum and eat chips. NO ONE CARES! Just be prepared to get food stuck (it doesn't hurt and isn't hard tog et out)

Try brushing your teeth more often because when you get them taken off (i will in 1 1/2 months) , if you font bursh, it will leave white sploches on your teeth that wil only go away with frequent brushing and the help of teeth whitening strips.

You really dont have to follow their rules, they dont even care. Let me guess, it feels weird having you rlip poke out a little more than it used to? You get used to it in a week. I recently got rubber band, their easy to put in after learning but they hurt A TON on the first night. Anyway, ENJOY!

I think that in future society, when the kids are reading about our history, they'll go "eww... that's disgusting! What kind of person would attach metal to their teeth!?" when they learn about braces.2008-09-30 23:11:00

I just got my braces in February, they're not terrible once you get used to them. The worst part is that it's tough to eat for a few days every time you get them tightened.2008-10-01 00:07:00

I've got 'em. (Yes, even robots need to worry about their hygiene).
At first you think you look weird, and then everyone else does, and it hurts like crazy when you get them tightened, and they're a pain to have to take care of, and you can't eat certain foods, and they cost a ton...

Where was I going with this?

Oh, that's right. You, and everybody else eventually get used to them. I suggest having some soup or mashed potatoes around the time you go in for your appointments, as you can barely eat anything (I couldn't even bite down a a thin chip without excruciating pain). If you usually buy lunch at school, bring lunch instead after an appointment for a while (I've starved many a time attempting to chew a school burrito).

Do not skimp out on brushing and attending to your teeth/braces, and do not eat the foods they tell you not to eat (it will come back to haunt you). It is a hassle, but the better you take care of your teeth and braces, the faster those suckers'll come out (I'm already months late of the estimated removal date because of my poor eating habits).

It's gonna be a pain now, but the end result will have you smiling! (get it, get it! )

Hope I helped!
