rdlrdl's Level Reviews and Level Tips! (Looking for reviews)

Archive: 9 posts

Why hello there, I am LordRattler, who sadly had his PSN name glitched when I got to be able to get online in LBP. I just recently got back into LBP and I wondered, what levels are out there I could be able to review, a adventure in the ocean depths, or the- Ahh forget it I know you think I am trying to start this out with a gimmick...and I was, until you started reading this sentence right here.

Anyways, I am looking for levels for suggestions to review! A few tiny rules before you submit a review though.

1. I do not review bomb survival levels, too many to count.
2. I do not review levels that are locked until you play another level if its a gimmick to review two levels altogether. (unless its a series you want me to review, but I will wait a while to decide if I will review it.)
3. I can only have 10 reviews at a time, and only that much at the time.

Now, onto the rating system. I will rate you level on these factors
1.Playability
2.Creativity
3.Difficulty
4.Design
5.Re-Playability
6:Overall

The 3 big ratings are Playability, (Is it playable?/Are there spots I can get stuck at?) Design, (Overall looks of the place. I don't want to always see cardboard in space as a example. I might want to see some metal.), and finally, the Difficulty,(Is it easy? Or is it hard?)

Now Difficulty is a special one. It might be bad if its really easy, or it might be good if its really hard, its just biased per level! The Rating System is as follows for difficulty.

Easy:Good place for beginners to start out!
Medium:Your basic platformer. Not much to help you out, but it still is somewhat easy.
Hard:Not really recommended for people who just got the game.
Insane!:The ! marks depends on how insane it is, one ! is your going to have to restart the level a lot, two !'s means you should only try if you have played this game for so long that your a expert at platforming in LBP, and three !!!'s means...well...play at your own risk...

Thats all for now for info, I am kinda busy making a new level so I will update this, but I add stuff to the level slowly, so expect me to review your levels often.

Alright my first level review, I hope I am doing this right...

You start out seeing you in your spaceship infultrating the enemy spaceship. The detail of the insides are great and the enemies (which sadly aren't fightable) are well designed. Right after you figure out the first puzzle something disturbing comes into your view. Now I did find this funny and know the joke behind this joke, (I am not going to post it for the reasons about to be posted) but this does not seem child friendly and I am afriad it sorta seems too...mature....

Anyways you cointuine along while trying to find the reactor core of the ship to eventually come across the leader talking to the androids, telling them they are to arrive at the destitnation soon. You try to hurry along to the reactor, but cause too much noise that eventually the bots start to think something is up.

Now at a later part I came across a glitch in the level. There are 3 rotating platforms. each with two sides, one with nothing on it, and the other with 3 point bubbles but electricty at the bottom. Now I tried to jump on the safe side of the platform but a glitch that when the material is too thin the game thinks you have touched the hazaroudus material happens and I could not get across unless I used the more unsafe way.

Eventually you make it to the startlingly beautiful reactor core, blow it up, and escape to the docking bay and steal a ship and the level ends, right? Wrong. The explosion of the enemy space ship is so strong, your's catches on fire and crash lands on a alien planet. You soon climb out of the wreckage and thats where the level ends.

Well I guess thats all I have to say for the text, now for the scoring!

1.Playability
It is a fun game to play and yes does have some nice ideas to the platforming obstacles and puzzles. The only problem is the level seems to build up so fast the end just makes the level seem too short and gives you a disappointment you feel when you finish a short game.

7/10

2.Creativity
The setting of heading onto a ship and to destroy it is nothing new, but is still a fresh concept for a level. The 2 sided flip pads is a nice touch on the flip pads, as it takes the safe side to the end to ace the level or take the risky route and get a higher score!

8/10

3.Difficulty
The difficulty isnt that hard, but for some new players it might be confusing, and the flip pads may glitch and kill you while you cross the safe side of them. But overall its pretty somewhat a medium difficulty.

Medium

4.Design
The looks of the level is beautiful, the cutscenes with the entering the space ship, the leader annoucing the nearing the destination, the explosion of the enemy spaceship, and finally the beautiful glowing alien planet you crash land on.

9/10
5.Re-Playability
I recomend playing it sometimes alone, but if you are going to replay it more often, then I recommend bringing a friend to join in on the fun!

8/10

6:Overall
The only main things that bothered me with this level was the shortness and the flip pad glitch. I was actually expecting a little more than a 7 minute level. But besides that, the beautiful cutscenes, medium difficulty, and atmosphere make it a good level to play. I rate it 7 / 1/2 out of 10!

Cool, thanks for the review. I have merged the two threads you made back into the first one. No sense making a new thread for every review. What would be best, and is the norm, is to just post the review in this thread, and then notify the creator that the review is posted.

Cheers.
