I Can Do Your Reveiws Too! After realising that creating levels was a bit too difficult for me I realised what I've been doing for years, reveiwing! I will reeiw survial challenges and levels, I'm quite picky, if theres even the slightest thing worng I will point it out, all the sections will have a small paragraph of my thoughts and I wont give too much away about the story. I may refuse reveiws if I am away or If your level is too good/bad/offensive. My reveiws will consist of: gameplay: (how many stars out of 5) story: (don't worry I'll give it a minimum of 3) Looks: Creativity Personally: heart yes/no star rating ^this is for non survival challenges^ Survival challenge reveiws: (note this DOES NOT INCLUDE BOMB SURVIVALS) Learning curve: DIfficulty Looks Gameplay Personally heart yes/no star rating I will also add a small paragraph in each if there are any glitches/problems Lets do this! | 2010-03-09 19:23:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |

Ok I'll ask for a level which i've never had reviewed... One of my very first creations: 'Set the Stage- Survival Challenge' PSN: Ladylyn1 Thanks in advance! okay, Ill have this done by friday at the latest, (ill do a batch of about 6) | 2010-03-09 20:32:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |
A reveiw for ladylyn1's Set the Stage- Survival Challenge. Learning curve::star::star::star::star: I thought this was very good at slowly getting more and more difficult, and the incentive to play was very good because of the background. Although to be honset I thought you could change the colour of the plasma balls (although i do understand the colour scheme) to show if It was getting harder or not. DIfficulty:star::star::star: I found it a little easy, personally i think the difficulty could have started higher and then gradually went up. It would also have been great if you had used the emmited paintinator brain technigue, where you emit a brain with a paintinator switch attached and get an emmiter to fire paintballs at it; this could show the player their score as opposed to the high scores ATM. Looks::star::star::star::star: well It certainly looked great in the graveyard and jungle, but I feel in the city you lacked a bit (did you do this one last?)The car was great but I feel you should have made more things invisible because the piston kind of ruined the mood. However i did love the spotlight following thing. Gameplay: :star::star::star: It was originall for the background/stage scene which I found fun and very interesting, however the danger was a tad unoriginal. I would suggest something related to acting rather than the classic: dodge the plasma balls which is slightly overused now. Personally: :star::star::star: and a half. I loved the ideas in this level and It was very well planned and to begin with, i thought it was going to fill all the 5star slots. however when I got deeper into the level things got gradually more unfinished and a tiny bit sloppy, the gameplay was fantastic with the background, but the danger element was slightly unoriginal, which spoilt it a bit for me. I would suggest if you're reading this reveiw and you have not played this level go play it now! Accepting a few minor drawbacks, ultimately its brilliant fun. heart yes/no: no, sorry star rating :star::star::star::star: PS sorry about the double post, but I had to do this before I forgot about the level. | 2010-03-09 22:02:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |

Cool thanks for the review! Yeah this was made back last january so it was a pretty early level- and you're right, the city one was made last. And I agree, it's a 4 star level at best. My newer creations are much more polished. Would it be cheeky to ask for another? Level: 'Myst: Masterpiece Edition' PSN: Ladylyn1 Note, you will need to play the introduction first, plus the finale is in a separate level... I hope ur up for a challenge! You could find yourself playing this level for well over 1 hour. If u start to get frustrated and stuck here is the link to the Level Showcase which includes the walk-through: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=22388-Myst-Masterpiece-Edition&highlight=myst Thanks again! | 2010-03-10 14:09:00 Author: ladylyn1 Posts: 836 |

bonner123's A Land of apparent Virtue NOTICE: this reveiw will be a little sharp because I have seen his new level and It Is AMAZING! Gameplay: :star::star::star::star: Well I really liked the ideas in this level! The bit with the jetpacks was awsome and there was telepots and all sorts of bish bosh, pushed together to make a platformer; which I loved. However, I Feel that using the same obstacle section multiple times was clever the first time, but now playing you're other level I realise you are capable of making lots of fun and different obstacles. The level was a bit long and using the jetpack thing only made it longer, don't get me wrong I loved it, but when youre trying over and over agin to push this big lumpy thing; the level seems to drag on a tad. Story: :star::star::star: There was little evidence of an attempt at a story, and I assumed it was a platformer, so I'm going to leave this section out Looks: :star::star::star: From the beggining this level established itself as an amazingly polished peice of work, I loved the sound effects (especially the ones before you hit the spikes) and they made me giggle. However, near the end it became the case of, it doesn't matter, I'll stick an eye on it. But overall It had the feel of a very well polished level. Creativity :star::star::star::star::star: I couldn't of asked have more to be honest; I can't even begin to say how utterly bizzare this package of randomosity is. Personally: :star::star::star: Not the type of level I usually play, a classic fun platformer with little or no twist to it and at times I feel there should have been more 'doublelife' checkpoints, but overall it was fun to play and I enjoyed the best of it. Some polishes here and a little comfy story line and you could have a community spotlight in the making! heart yes/no No, sorry star rating :star::star::star::star: 2nd reveiw (ladylyn1's myst) Gameplay::star::star::star::star: The puzzles, amazing as they were, were a little too challenging if you ask me; and occasionally something in the library would go wrong and you'd have to start the level again. One of my favourite things about this level was the use of stickers as save points and the implementation of choice into the puzzles, it just made it that little bit more realistic. I could ramble on forever about the amazing things in this level, from the goals to the level remebering what you have already done, to the custom switches etc. so lets move on... Story::star::star::star::star: Playing the introduction I was amzed at how carefully planned and excecuted the storey was implemented, but theres not too much more I can say without ruining the level. I'll just say that the story was FANTASTIC! Looks::star::star::star::star::star: Wow. thats all I can say. wow. The one thing I would do to make this look even more stupendous, would to make the sea smoother in the Ship/docks. Creativity :star::star::star: On puzzles alone this would be up to 5 stars, but I did have to take into consideration the fact that you used someone elses story and implied it to be your own; not that thats a bad thing though. Personally: :star::star::star::star: I loved this level, the story was implemented flawlessly, there were complicated puzzles that actually required thought, there must have been a block of logic the size of comphermc's brain. Overall this level was amzing, but unfourtunately there were some tweaks that need to be made; the library in general should have some sort of reset switch (incase the doors get stuck) Also there should be BLUE hints that give you a lot more help, but they only activate after you spend a certain amount of time on the level (say 30 minuits?) But as I said before, overall it was amazing. heart yes/no YES! star rating :star::star::star::star::star: | 2010-03-11 22:24:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |
A reveiw for shebnt's Joe Snow Mountain Gameplay::star::star::star::star: and a half. From the beginning, obviously a lot of thought went into the creatures and gameplay elements that went into this level, the red things were very good I thought, and a far sight better than most of MM's. I loved some of the ideas in this level, such as the brilliant idea of a flashlight, to the yellow snow which made me giggle. One thing I would mention however was that in the tunnels there seemed to be fire, and in a snow based level that seemed a little odd to me; the top of the mountain was fun AND challenging; which is a difficult thing to make. Story::star::star::star: The story, was short and meaningless, but to be honest that didn't really affect the fun of playing this level. Looks::star::star: This was your one and only downfall, some of the stuff like the snowman was comical; but other things like the snow at the start of the level were not. As mentioned before the danger elements in the tunnel were irrelavent to the general scene; to improe, you need to use the corner editor more, even a few drips of snow here and there will give the feel of a much more polished level. Creativity:star::star::star::star: Climbing to the top of a mountin isn't very creatie; however the gameplay elements were EXTREMELY creative; things like jumping over yellow snow and using a flashlight in the darkness, these held my attention. Personally::star::star::star: The gameplay, fantastic as it was, was (only parts of it) irrelevant to a mountain, the creativity was great and funny at times, the story was simple and effective, and this could have EASILY been a 4/5 star level. Was it not for the use of purely the shapes MM give away like free candy; they would've been great; but as mentioned before; sometimes only the bare minimum was done to improve the level; improve the visuals and you get a heart! heart yes/no No, sorry star rating :star::star::star: | 2010-03-12 09:17:00 Author: flamingemu Posts: 1872 |
Thanks for the review! I'm going to go and look into how I can improve the visuals. I was also thinking of changing the fire to bats that went up and down. Thank you though, this was my first level and a big learning experience. I will take all of this advice and put it into my next level so it can be better than this one. | 2010-03-12 10:17:00 Author: shebhnt Posts: 414 |
