PS3 Spotlight
The Legend of Zelda: Forest Temple (Remastered)Shawneboi/Shawneboi
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13064&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1266802579Remember creating your first level? Oh the glory of completing your very first "work of art" as it may. Then over a year later you go back and replay that level and you think...WHAT WAS I THINKING! Well after a year of creating, and learning, I have decided to go back to my first "real" level, and do I guess what you would call a remake. I've heard members claim that they have always wanted to go back and improve their old works, which is exactly what I have done. This level was a tribute to one of my favorite series of all time, which turned into a series of six levels. It is full of platforming, traps and now a new boss!

I just can't seem to get enough of Shawniboi's architectural levels so when I saw he'd remastered his first level I had to check it out! The side by side pics are a great example of a craftsman who has improved his skills significantly over the past year and comparing them highlights his ability to add gorgeous details and style to fundamentally sound platforming. Great fun to play and too pretty to miss. The undoubtable King of Temples, Shawnboi, is back with a remastered version of his first level. And this one certainly is masterful! The beautiful environments, the zigzagging gameplay and brilliant platforming are all present. If you haven’t played a Shawnboi level yet, then this is a great place to start. 4 levels in 3 spotlights is no mean feat, but when its a creator of Shawneboi's calibre its not suprising. The level has everything that you have come to expect, a temple, great platforming, gorgeous visuals and great gameplay throughout. I honestly can't wait to see where he takes us next.A beautifully atmospheric exploration of a temple. There's some really fun platforming in here, not so difficult that you'll want to scream but just enough to keep you wanting more. Still take care, looks can be deceiving in this temple; those flowers may look harmless but they could hold their own in any bad guy competition in LBP STAR WARS: The Return of the Jedi: : The Ewok Village: err... Etc!JulesyJules/JulesyJuleshttp://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13063&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1266800782Using a Stolen Imperial Shuttle, you set down on the forest moon of Endor, your mission to destroy the shield generator protecting the new Death Star. As usual however, things never quite go according to plan......

This series by JulesyJules is without doubt the funniest in the LBP, and this part does'nt disappoint one bit. Everyone knows the story (shame on you if you don't) but its presented here with tongue firmly in cheek. The dialogue is'nt the only thing to sparkle in the level though, the forest visuals are superb, the gameplay is balanced to perfection and the cast of characters are interpreted wonderfully. A fantastic level. There have been some awesome levels in LBP, heck there have been great series made in LBP, but the most outstandingly consistent in terms of gameplay, creativity, and humor is this series by julesyjules. It's better than it's predecessors in terms of witty material and decoration usage, continues the tradition of fantastically designed characters and takes the dialogue up several notches in terms of hilarity and wit. Why are you still reading this? Go play it… now!Hold on to your land speeder because JulesyJules returns with another epic tale from a galaxy far, far away. In this episode your Jedi skills will be tested through a forest of platforming. As you swing your way through the Ewok Village, you will be treated to gorgeous visuals, fantastic gameplay, and humor that will have you smiling the entire time. The force is strong with this one indeed!Somewhere on a moon not so far from here, JulseyJules is sitting smugly having just released another amazing level. Oh course it was destined for hundreds of plays from the good side, but an H4H’er was spotted playing the level! However after traversing the beautiful jungle, laughing at the humour and enjoying the gameplay the H4H’er was no more. The morale of this sci-fi story? Play this level – it rocks. I have never seen the cinematography of a film recreated in LBP as well as Julesyjules has done here. From village sunsets, to dark nights, to forest mornings it's all here and it's amazing. For the 3 of you who haven't seen 'return of the Jedi', this level takes you on a forest chase on scooters, exploring the treetops through an ewok village, and finally into an imperial bunker. Some brilliant vaulting high in the trees makes up the bulk of the gameplay here. Done with style and humour, this level is never dull and always fun. Unfortunately... as I'm sure we'll discover on the next level.. an entire legion of the emperor's finest troops are on the planet!!Knights Of The Azure Palace Part 1Donkey Show/gevurah22
http://www.daviddino.com/kazureptone02.jpgAs the follow up to the Azure Palace of levels long ago, Knights of the Azure Palace Part 1 will take players deeper into the lore of the underwater Azure Palace. Players will once again use the Azure Key to survive the harsh dangers that await them, while attempting to unlock the mysteries of the Azure Knights and their eternal fight against the evil Unktehilas. Littered with secrets, score combos, and amazing visuals, experience true underwater action and survival in this race to the finish in Part 1 of the Knights of the Azure Palace series![/spotvid]

Well, its the follow up to one of the most famous levels in LBP. Donkey Show paved the way for a lot of levels with the first one over a year ago and this one is no different. Epic in scale, story telling and scope, its fantastically beautiful and a great play from start to finish. And with the promise of more, there's very little to dislike in this superbly crafted level. A must play, just like the first. Not short of hype, not short of gameplay and not short of visuals – this level is all it was expected to be and then some on top. From the nerve wracking battles to the tense platforming, all the way to the final scoreboard this level will have you gripped and grasped in its own little world. But what more would you expect from Donkey_show? This level is quite literally epic. It has its own mythology and back story to carry the player into a new world of adventure. This is one of those rare experiences where you can completely forget that you are even playing littlebigplanet. The truly outstanding use of the 3D glitch must have taken AGES to install (as it is present it almost every scene). The lighting, atmosphere and mood are brilliant and the gameplay is rich and varied. gevurah22's return raises the bar once more in LBP.It's big, really big. Both the story and scale of the level are very ambitious and players who live to explore vast environments will love it. Challenging chase areas with fantastic and quick monsters after you keep the action moving and figuring out how to run and breathe at the same time will challenge players of every skill level. To finish it feels very satisfying.Industrial Assistance 2jackofcourse/jackofcourse
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n195/jackofcourse/APhoto_8-1.jpgI've been wanting to make a sequel for sometime so finally thought I would, and here it is! Whereas the first had quite a few sections based around cool contraptions this one is far more gameplay based and as a result is probably slightly more challenging and less forgiving. I still wouldn't say it is difficult, but I'd say things aren't quite handed to you on a plate as much.

Jack is back with another slice of coop goodness. As you all can expect from jack, the mechanics are fantastic and well thoughout and the gameplay is out of this world. You'll need to operate as a team in order to successfully navigate the fiendish array of puzzles he has laid out for us here, but you'll have immense amounts of fun doing it. Probably Jacks best level so far, and that is saying something!!2 can be as bad as 1, and 2 players will certainly have a blast in this level. It’s the follow-up to one of the greatest, most well known two player levels so it had a lot to live up to. However of course it didn’t fail, and managed to include quirky visuals, epic multiplayer action and classic jack platforming. Not many levels are as good as this! JackOfcourse returns with an excellent 2 player level that perfectly suits playing partners like me and Clarie. He has designed some truely original puzzles and the level is very engaging throughout. JoC's trademark visual style and moving scenery is in force as always and although his backgrounds are complex, it never overshadows the game play itself. This level requires a variety of skills from the user as it requires them to use the paint gun, race competitively, carry each other on carts and work together as a unit!More ingenious two player puzzles to make your way through from the mind of jackofcourse! I don't know how he manages to make each of these feel so different but so familiar at the same time. Great fun for you and a friend and some really subtle but nonetheless spectacular mechanics making it all happen. Lots of variation in challenges keep it interesting throughout and I have to say the fact that even the scoreboard needs two players to reach is an LBP first for me. Charming and challenging I highly recommend this level for groups of players. The Dojo Of PlatformingSupaSack34/Littlewit
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12939Travel far into china to learn from the master of platforming. This is my latest level. It is pretty much all a platforming level. The difficulty of it shouldn't be too too hard for people who play LBP a lot.

I haven’t seen a level manage to recreate the Mm visuals so accurately than this great level by Supasack! Curves and straight edges, red and black colourings and of course quality Japanese music would all feel at home in story mode. In this case though, the gameplay far exceeds Mm and is both challenging and rewarding. Can’t wait for another Supasack level now! I love the challenge of finishing this level. Always fair but hard it keeps you motivated to get through just one more section to see what great challenge comes next. Very cute and MM in feeling it's a more sophisticated and demanding sequel to the Islands of story mode. Very satisfying to finish and fun throughout. Are you up to the challenge? A brilliant level from a relatively new creator on LBP. What starts out as the traditional 'please complete my challenges' routine, quickly develops into a brilliantly decorated and viciously tricky platformer. The style of decoration appears simple but, on closer inspection, has original architecture, subtle stickering and well crafted objects. The challenges remain fresh throughout and some of these challenges I definitely haven't seen before. Littlewit and captaincowboyhat can battle it out for this months 'trickiest platformer' award. Operation Omega: The Rise Of CyberfoxHolguin86 /Holguin86
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12659A fun futuristic level that combines classic platforming, shooting and puzzle solving. Give it a go! Welcome to CyberFox Industries. Can you infiltrate their base and hunt down the masterful CyberFox?

MGS style levels are a little thin on the ground at the moment with the appearance of the POTC pack, so its a refreshing change to play a level that's paintinator based around the VR materials. An excellent romp through a level packed to the brim with fine challenges, superb hazards and a wonderful boss. A fantastic level, there's little else to say. It’s difficult to get a clean, fresh and new feel with the MGS materials now, but somehow this level manages to create a brilliant atmosphere that’ll bring you back to the MGS pack itself. The gameplay is spot on and we even come across a great boss battle towards the end. Oh and did I mention the puzzles AND great paintinator use too? Glowing lights and VR material always look cool and this level really lets the high tech stuff shine. Solid platforming throughout keep it action packed and cool color combos keep it great looking. Some interesting platforming combos provide enough challenge that even veteran players will find a bit of challenge. Throw in a boss battle and you've got a well rounded fun to play level that will keep you entertained and active!Island Of The Fire Lizards - Part 1 - Welcome To The IslandLeather-Monkey/Leather-Monkeys
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4068/4387669011_e221ff9d79_b.jpgExplore the beautiful island of the Fire Lizards, an island full of magical flames, ever-burning fires and glowing lava. Unfortunately, something hasn't been quite right on the island for years now...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQtISodfI3M

I adore this level! It's got Rock n Roll attitude all over it and plays fantastic! What else would one expect from the Heavy Metal Mullet maker? Awesome lighting, some of the best fire lighting I've seen in LBP. Now it's not all all about the visuals in this level - as amazing as they are. Keeping the beat is platforming goodness that throws you all over the screen in spectacular firery explosions and swinging just above certain fiery doom. The boss battle and skull section at the end are like the final power cords from an arena rock band! Seriously some of the best fun I've had in LBP right here.A visually spectacular trip through a firey cave. Leather-Monkeys finds lots of ways to keep the surprises coming. There is a huge variety in gameplay and even manages to create a watery section in a fire level. The creator has found some really subtle ways to use the 3D glitch to enhance his level without ever being distracting. An original take on an overused genre - check it out!
From the creator of the best rock and roll based level in LBP comes something totally different, but no less awesome. Morgana has probably used all the best metaphors for this level, leaving the rest of us a little stuck for things to say, so I will say its beautiful, challenging, filled with well used 'splosions and fantastically playable. Don't miss it.
Leather’s love of Guns n roses really shines through here, helping him creating a powerful level that’s guaranteed to play all the right notes and pull all of your heart strings! Simple speech bubbles, well thought out gameplay and more fire than you can wave a guitar at gives this level a well deserved spotlight.Lost in Space 2second--smile--/second--smile--
http://i617.photobucket.com/albums/tt252/flinnoy/APhot.jpgThe sequel to Lost-in-Space. It's a platformer based around mechanisms, contraptions and switch's. There is a 2 player section and a unique boss battle. A little different than another bomb survival. Medium to hardish difficulty. This is the fifth and final version.

Fans of the first Lost-in-Space level will feel right at home in it's sequel. More great platforming that feels fresh and fun to play. A much warmer palette than the first the understated geometry and good layer usage make it a pleasant place to gad about… well, except for all the fire. Moderately difficult most players should be able to make their way through to the boss section….. then it gets a little tougher. The bizzarely named 'lost in space' is an absolutely brilliant level. Full of unusual platforming and interesting puzzles, this level will hold your attention from start to finish. Look out for the fun and frantic emitter based race (thank goodness for infinite life points!) and firey walls which disappear before your very eyes...Danger, platforms, swirls and curls all return for the second round of Lost in space – and we couldn’t have asked for more in a sequel. More of the quality platforming that was seen in Lost in Space, and even more innovation and ideas. Even the visuals and music will have you blasting your way through this level – but that doesn’t mean it’s not a challenge too. So get the PS3 fired up, blast off and get Lost in Space… again! Zephyr Valley 2mrsupercomputer/mrsupercomputer
http://www.brentsimmons.com/lbp/zv2_1.jpg
You saved Zephyr Valley's Windmill and defeated the villainess sky pirates... or so you thought! The pirates have returned and this time they want revenge! Make your way through the caves and protect the village before it's too late!

Practice, they say, makes perfect and after reading how many times this level was remade I'd have to agree. The sequel to arguably one of the best levels ever made keeps the same visual mastery and superb gameplay rolling. The water effects without real water are breathtaking and every platform that shifts under your feet or swing that promises to break loose while your dangling from it add suspense and show mrsupercomputer's mastery over the little details that breathe life into a level. It truly is another masterpiece from one of LBP's master craftsmen. Some levels are so amazing that they can never be remade, and a sequel is never going to work. Luckily this level wasn’t the case, and Zephyr Valley 2 is even better than its outstanding prequel. Little details like a moving NPC, burning buildings and rubble are noticeable but don’t detract from the amazing gameplay. Easily the best mrsupercomputer level to date – and that’s achieving something big! Simply Amazing. This totally eclipses the original and really shows off how LBP has evolved. I loved.. *deep breath* ... the rushing water, the cleverly placed string, the great use of decorations, the collapsing buildings, the re-emitting chase, the clever puzzle, the wind swept fire, the grabbables which fall and redirect you, the great camera work on the rocket... I could carry on... but I think you should just go play this for yourself. Outstanding. Its MrSuperComputer, and its Zephyr Valley 2, that should be all the recommendation you need, if it is'nt then read my fellow spotlighters comments above. All I will say is, its beyond words, and in my top 3 levels of all time. A level that's definitely upped the quality water mark in LBP.OH NO!!! THE PRINCESS!!! World 6: Iced LandCaptainCowboyHat/CaptainCowboyHat
http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/APhoto_135.jpgThe adventure continues and begins to end as you infiltrate the Dinosaur King's frozen lands and probably die a lot and say cuss words because, man, I'm really not shy about making this stuff too hard.

If you haven't been playing LBP for awhile or aren't some PS3 prodigy you may want to bring someone who is with you if you want to see all this level has to offer. Practiced players will adore every level of this series and especially this one that will have you anxiously scanning the level for the next break in that oh so slippery glass to jump over. You'll die, oh yes you will and you'll love every minute of it. Consistently the most challenging platforming series I've played regularly and it just keeps getting better! Oh yea, and there's a bear joke. Actually the humor from the previous levels is all here too, just hope you can make it through to experience the lolz for yourself. It’s rare that a level can make you swear down never to play PS3 again… and then moments later have you in stitches with a witty comment, but CaptainCowboyHat has a beauty here. All the humour of a comic, the platforming of a Mario game and all the ice in the arctic are shoved together and blended into a smoothie of goodness. A boy is this one good – don’t miss out on the entire series. Run.... jump...slide....run...duck... small jump...dodge....slide... STOP! Classic platforming at its best. Classic platforming at its hardest. This level is tough, tough, tough. But as you plummet into another electric fence or dangle off a rotating square of doom... you can't help but think that its all rather fun. There have been four things consistent with this series, the challenge, the hilarious king, wonderful environments and the fact that you should expect a lot of deaths. It might be hard, but its awesome fun. CaptainCowboyHat continues to amaze me with his ever increasing genius when creating hazards, and you'll have plenty of chance to admire them, because it will take a few attempts before you pass most of them. I loved every second of this series, and eagerly await the next installment.Discworld: Thieves of Ankh MorporkTheAdipose & Luos_Desruc/TheAdipose
http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/APhoto_136.jpgA homage to the great Terry Pratchett with this LittleBigPlanet level set in Ankh Morpork. Playing as Cyril on his first day at the Thieves Guild you must find secret routes around the city, overcome difficult puzzles, sneak past killer parrots, battle power crazy wizards... and... above all... avoid being sold anything by CMOT Dibbler.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzPjWLikSiA

You don't have to be a fan of Discworld to love this level but if you are you'll be especially impressed with the same sense of humor you remember from the books. A long and very rewarding experience awaits you as you make your way across rooftops and under the city all done in great visual detail. There are challenges you'll need to use your sackboy skills and the gray stuff between your ears to finish as your sent off time and time again on errands for the guild. The characters are memorable and the dialogue is laugh out loud funny. I'm pretty sure TheAdipose & Luos are members of the thieves guild as they've managed to steal a lot of my time while playing this level but I loved every second of it.I've never heard of Discworld before this level, but the first word out of my mouth when I entered was "wow." This is a gorgeous level, sprinkled with humor and wit. Stealing stuff has never been so much fun (not that I would know!). You will be required to search every nook and cranny in this town, but the adventure is well worth your time.Possibley the most epic partners on LBP return with yet another gorgeous, innovative and fun level! Fans of Discworld will marvel at the detail and book humour, fans of LBP on the other hand will enjoy the killer visuals and lovely platforming. It’s the best of two worlds! I've never read any of the Discworld novels, but that did'nt matter one bit. The level is beautifully presented, and well explained for the non-fans out there. Based on an open world style, you will be criss-crossing the town in order to complete tasks get by your teacher at your first day at Thief school. Witty dialogue, great asthetics, excellently thoughtout tasks and some wonderful mechanics make the level a joy to play. Magic in everyway!. Robots From Outer SpaceTeeBaG/TeeBaGhttp://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Morgana25_photos/26411_1387529407072_1197174787_1148.jpgThey came from outer space to take over our world. You have been selected to save the world and defeat this alien scourge! You are not alone though, it is 1947 and scientists have discovered science to help defeat this menace.

Campy Sci-Fi is perfect material for a LBP level and TeeBaG has hit all the right notes to get a silly, scary and sci-fi vibe running throughout this level. The black and white filter give it a 1950's film quality and the dialogue plays up the old school sci-fi feel. Floating brains, alien ships, giant robots and a fantastic end boss - what's not to love?!?Do you have time to take a break from jumping and face an alien invasion? Well then this level is certainly for you, especially if you love bosses, aliens and great gameplay – and let’s face it, who doesn’t!? So put your safety goggles on and get ready to fight aliens… with science! Who knew that fighting aliens could be so fun? TeeBag did it seems, and it shows in this great Sci-fi offering. Clever use of lighting and music engage the player throughout in a story which is so silly it's brilliant. I'm not going to say much about the gameplay, because there are some great 'oooo' moments along your alien fighting journey which I don't want to spoil. However, I would highly recommend that you give this try, even if aliens aren't your usual cup of tea. What this level has in spades is variety. Based on 50's B-movies, and presented in glorious black and white just like the films of the era, this level has you fighting an alien invasion. Take control of a giant robots brain, in order to take control of the robot itself, and its here the level changes from superb platformer to side scrolling shooter and back again. Brilliantly designed, with a great story, the level is a blast from platforming, to shooter to boss encounter. A really enjoyable level that attempts to mix up things up a little, and succeeds at every step. Edward Magus' machine of imaginationthecooper/thecooper8
http://www2.pic-upload.de/28.02.10/rggmpxxxfhv8.jpgYou meet Edward Magus and you should go inside his magical and crazy machine of imagination...

Crazy machines seem to be thecooper8's specialty and when they take you to such wonderful and strange places I'm glad they are. In a mix of Alice in Wonderland meets The one little pig with attitude, this level is all over the place with strange and wonderful characters and settings. Quirky doesn't even come close to describing the flying german pig who wants you to say hello to his little friend…. you have to play this one to see for yourself.Holey flying pink piggie Batman! Actually, that's exactly what he was (holey) after I was done with him. This level oozes with personality. You'll step inside a machine that will take you on a journey through a world that is constantly moving around you. Cooper warns you of the weirdness to come, but nothing could have really prepared me for this zany masterpiece. thecooper's overactive imagination is still running wild in this amusing tale of an imagination machine. A brilliant use of colour, and a good eye for architecture allow thecooper8 to impress you at every stage. This level also contains his best gameplay yet which is quickly improving to meet his always outstanding visuals. I'm not sure if the ending is a cliffhanger or a joke, but either way, it's funny. Check it out - but don't drink anything first!Weird! The first thing I thought off when starting this level, and it stayed with me throughout. Beautiful! I then thought, wonderful use of materials and decorations, with some excellent characters. Fun! Popped into my head next, I had an absolute blast playing through the platforming sections. Weird! That cropped up again. Awesome! Was almost the last thing I thought up completion. Want to know the last thing I thought, 5* and a heart for this wonderful creation.Very few creators have the ability to create an entire world from their imagination, and even fewer can do it as well as theCooper! This level will engulf you with weird characters, witty humour and will even allow you some lovely platforming too. Oh and who doesn’t want to fight a German pig!? Don’t miss out on this level – it’s a stormer. Bloodeaters Scrapheap Scramble!thekillermiller/thekillermiller
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2757/4388539248_f92448f0f7_b.jpg
Zombies!! What more needs to be said?

Zombie levels are fairly common in LBP but when the maker of Uncle Fritz's Funhouse takes on Zombies you know your in for a treat. The environment in which thekillermiller has placed these undead creations steals the show though. Twisted, rusted and treacherous metal scaffolds that barely look like they can support their own weight, much less sackboys make the platoforming challenging and will keep you on your toes. Great mix of just the right number of zombies makes you appreciate every paintinator shot you get at them too. Although this level is advertised via the zombies, it is the scrapheap that is the real star here. A wreckage filled, dirty, rusting yard awaits the player. I really like the size and scale of the yard which makes you feel powerless against the merciless machinery.Avoid the compactor, ride the steamroller, clamber up the cars... oh and shoot the zombies! thekillermiller makes a wise choice by using the zombies sparingly, which keeps them as a fun aside rather than another paintgun fest. The undead and scrapyards, an awesome combination for a level if you ask me, and thankfully thekillermiller does not disappoint. Getting something to look dirty, rusty and grimy, and then also manage to make it look very pleasing to the eye is quite a task, but one that he has managed with style. The machinery and mechanics on show are epic in size and implementation, and are well polished (rather suprising for a scrap yard). All in all, a fantastic level.Savannah Travelferrrch & stunkel/ferrrch
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13152&d=1265648123This level was made by stunkel and I. This is a big adventure trough the savannah world with lots of puzzles, including parts for just 2 players and 4 players.

A truly entertaining trip through the African Savannah. The creator team here have a nice visual style that perhaps borrows influences from JoC (and that's not a bad thing!). The player (who clearly has to assume some form of David Livingstone costume) explores the rocky scenery, which has been cut into some really interesting shapes. As you progress, the level shifts around huge pieces of scenery to open up the way forward. There is a sweet variety of activities to complete in the Savannah that keeps you focused from start to finish.Gameplay is what makes this level shine. Great fun to make your way through and some innovative and cleverly designed obstacles keep it feeling very new and exciting. The warm wood tones and understated design keeps your focus on the platforming but still looks very clean and pretty. Simplicity of style meets stylish gameplay - check it out. THE CURSEDDelirium/xX-Delirium-Xx
http://i927.photobucket.com/albums/ad115/zeriousimvu/APhoto_5.jpgThere are many doorways to the world between the liven and the dead. On your visit to japan you find one of these doors...but the lost souls are not friendly. Can you survive the cursed?

Horror levels have really come a long way since the beginning of LBP and this latest offering from Delirium ranks right up there with the scariest levels I've played. It's sort of a hybrid Horror/Survivial challenge really because one wrong move and your dead. With a serene and beautiful opening it makes the darkness to come feel even darker and more threatening. Inspired by Japanese horror it relies heavily on well chosen lighting, sound effects and some cool camera tricks to keep your heart racing. I played it at 1am and yep.... best played alone... in the dark! The creator of this level does warn you that it is best played at night with the lights turned out. Don't listen - I played it in broad daylight with Adi sitting right next to me and I still jumped a mile. Not for the faint hearted, but for those of you whose hearts aren't faint you have in store a neat little atmospheric level, with great visual and sound effects capable of scaring the pants off any Sackboy.Spice & COpoms/poms
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13038&d=1266666818Something is fishy in “Spice & CO”. A prosperous spice industry, or an evil weapon factory?

Awesome gameplay that has sackboy shot at breakneck pace through the air make this latest offering from palms an exciting level to play. All the visual details you'd expect from palms are here too. A fun level for sure that I highly recommend!I have great memories of the 90's, especially Donkey Kong Country on the SNES all them years ago. So imagine my delight when I played this level, filled with the barrell blasting fun I had all them years ago. If anyone can get anywhere near the perfection of my memory, its Poms, and he more than delivers here. A joyous romp from start to finish One of the things we really like about this level is that it takes you through a narrative without using a single magic mouth. It's all done with visuals, posters, and changing styles throughout the factory. Poms has created a level which adults and children will enjoy. Beautifully presented with well refined gameplay makes this latest Poms entry just like his others - unmissable! PSP Spotlight
Fort Sugar IIIVelcroJonze/VelcroJonzehttp://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Fort_Sugar_III.jpgYet again, Sackboy finds himself in the cold embrace of Fort Sugar.

This flowing, beautifully built level will have you flipping switches, backtracking, and going for a few surprise catapult rides while you try to find your way out of a snowy fortress. Don't let the muted palette and smooth, natural shapes fool you - there's quite a bit of hidden complexity at work here. So sit back and enjoy a hop, jump, and a grab through the cool colors and relaxing tunes of Fort Sugar.Oh look, a pile of point bu…BUMP! Before you know it, you’re launched high into the air in this amusingly deceptive level by VelcroJonze. Simple elegance meets complex mechanics as your sackperson is tossed up and down and right and left by bumpers camouflaged in the sculptural rock formations. So point bubble hunters out there, try and get the high score while this level tries to stop you!R.I.P. SackSpark151/Spark151http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/RIP_Sack.jpgYou find out you were in a car accident and realize you're dead, but you soon find your casket which might just save your life. Can you and your casket make it all the way through the level?

Spark151 hits the Spotlight once again, this time with a fun and well-decorated tour through the afterlife. This is the first PSP level I have seen that faithfully represents the look and feel of "The Wedding" levels from the PS3 version of the game. Walk on clouds, climb an incredible giant-sized skeleton, and enjoy two different endings depending on the choices you make postmortem.Who knew being dead was so much work! Wonderful color and stickers are everywhere in this macabre level complete with exquisitely done skeletons! Very much like the Weddings from story mode on PS3, it's darkly charming and has lots of little details to check out. Choose your ultimate ending then come back to see what could have been in an alternate ending. There's no rest for sack boy in this fun little level! This level is more than a ghost of “The Wedding”: it’s ghoulish with a graphical flaming-skull edge. Not only has Spark151 immortalized his corner-editing skills with this level, but he also breathed life into a refined color palette that contrasts the eerie chill of cool colors with the fiery attitude of warm colors. Drag your casket bravely but cautiously as you meet a spooky skeleton before blowing your way through this beautifully designed underworld.Sackboy Plays LBP PSP!CyberSora/CyberSorahttp://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Sackboy_Plays_LBP_PSP.jpgHave you ever wondered what Sackboy does for fun on LBP PSP? Well the answer is Sackboy plays LBP PSP on his own PSP! Play through the eyes of Sackboy, and have fun in this quick LBP PSP level. If you thought Sackboy was small, imagine him seeing himself in LBP PSP!

There's something surreal about playing a level that's about playing a level. Watch yourself watching yourself while you run, jump, and swing through this highly entertaining and fast-paced esoteric side scroller. Battle bosses, hunt down score bubbles, and leap through race gates... but watch out for those fiery pits! You'll have a blast trying to keep up with the almost-frantic pace of this level, and when you're done you'll want yourself to want to play it all over again. What a cool idea! A game within a game… makes you wonder who might be pushing your buttons when you load up this level. It's set up as a cool side scrolling styled level with platforming that looks deceptively simple until you try and ace it.You only need to suffer the barrage of gas venom from the stinger of a giant scorpion to know that this level flexes major muscles for a PSP…inside another PSP. Dash across a scrolling arid desert teeming with oases of Middle-Eastern architecture, quenching point bubbles, and thrilling race sequences before charming fire-breathing snakes to their doom. You’ll be so mesmerized playing this amazing level that you may just pinch yourself to make sure it’s not a mirage!Shallow Springsamazingflyingpoo/amazingflyingpoohttp://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Shallow_Springs.jpgOn a beautiful summer day, you and your wife head out to go camping in Shallow Springs. In the evening you both walk into town for supplies, and then return to camp and fall asleep. You wake up in the night to find that your wife is gone...

Everyone's favorite flying poo has gone and done it again, this time with an awesomely spooky adventure through the mysterious town of Shallow Springs. Unravel the secrets of this intriguing, original story while you explore the town and solve some of the best puzzles you'll find on a handheld. Do you ever feel like you're being watched? It's this level.Still complaining about the lack of lighting features on the PSP? This spine-tingling level by amazingflyingpoo shows that you don’t need dim vignettes to make your skin crawl. All you need is a dark forest being consumed by a colorless void, townspeople with false fronts, a haunted motel room, and an omnipresent wife to instill a pang of fear. As you tremble and hastily try to escape this paranormal town, be sure to pause a few seconds to appreciate the exquisite architecture of the buildings, and then remember to run!STAR WARS: TIE in the Skysalieri/SalieriAAXhttp://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/TIE_in_the_Sky.jpgA novice Imperial TIE Fighter pilot receives career support from an unlikely benefactor. Learn to fly the feeblest craft in the Imperial fleet and sock it to the Rebels.

Fall in love with the Star Wars universe all over again, only this time from eyes of an Imperial pilot. Fly your very own TIE through a series of missions and receive orders from the Emperor himself. This gorgeous, incredibly detailed level features loads of salieri's patented vehicle awesomeness as well as some hilarious dialog and the cutest little Vader you've ever seen. It's time to go crush some puny Rebels! Finally! A level from the dark side! Ultra cool details and spot on vehicles from the Star Wars universe are everywhere in this not so serious look at the Imperial point of view of things. Great character design that will make you laugh out loud combined with some great puny dialogue keep the level entertaining. So get your piloting skills ready if you want to impress the bosses, failure would be unwise.Classic Star Wars characters get the sackperson treatment in this innovative vehicle-based gameplay by salieri. After a hilarious tutelage from Lord Vader, you will board and navigate a cleverly designed TIE Fighter to infiltrate and devastate the rebel base. Equipped with an adorable cast of characters, comical narrative scenes, and mind-boggling spacecraft, this level fits an epic saga in the palm of your hands.Trapped TransitionArrestor/Maboe84http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/Trapped_Transition.jpgYou are trapped in a weird facility. Can you escape and uncover the secrets of this place? [This is an adventurous Portal parody with a friendly companion cube. Don`t miss the prizes!]

Speedy things go in and speedy things come out in this comedic portrayal of Portal by Arrestor. Teleport a companion cube across a well-guarded high-tech research facility to discover the deception at the heart of this unique experiment. This level welds engaging plot with original gameplay, searing them with a lighthearted funniness that reinvents the darkly humorous story of the original. Get ready to become a lab rat, and remember, the strawberry cheesecake is not a lie! Finally, a portable Portal! Arrestor has managed to faithfully recreate the look, feel, gameplay, and humor of everyone's favorite interdimensional brain bender. This is no clone, but rather a fresh take on the concept where your companion cube does the portal jumping instead of you. There's loads of great platforming, hidden areas, and a formidable boss with one very large weak spot. Good luck [test subject name here] !ZENjeffcu28/jeffcu28http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac207/tross13/ZEN.jpgA selfish artisan has poached the Empress Crane for his own prosperity, trapping her inside a painting. Solve the puzzles in the Temples of Yin and Yang by directing the flow of energy to uncover a forbidden ancient scroll. Guide orbs in the Maze of Fortune and seek consent from the Mandate of Pooffey before painting your way into the past and saving the Empress from her inky prison to restore Zen to the Sack Dynasty.

Stylish, minimalist visuals meet sophisticated and engaging gameplay in this stunning level from jeffcu28. I can honestly say I have never seen (or felt) anything quite like this, except perhaps when I was playing Okami or Flower. So take a deep breath, focus your energy, and journey through an incredible ink-and-paper world filled with some of the most innovative and unique game elements you could ever hope to imagine. An artistic sensitivity is evident everywhere you look in this very inspiring level by jeffcu28. One of the most beautiful, cinematic opening sequences I've experienced on a PSP level. He's managed to capture the beauty of simple lines and high contrast pen and ink in the scrolls he's made and the cherry trees and oriental architecture are just lovely. Great original story and some cool puzzle style platfoming make it fun and rewarding to play. Who doesn't need a little Zen in their lives and now you can carry some in your pocket!

While LBPC is a great site in many ways, these Spotlights are what set it apart from the crowd and offer true and meaningful content to the community. Thanks Spotlight crew... We are - as always - indebted to you!

And congratulations to all the creators represented here. I've only played a few of these, but I intend to run through the list. It's always a pleasure to see a new crop of quality work!

Another great Spotlight – some awesome levels on that list again. Amazing to have fantastic new levels from gevurah22, mrsupercomputer, jackofcourse, CaptainCowboyHat and julesyjules all in one action-packed fortnight as well some great ones from rising stars like TheAdipose & Luos_Desruc, thecooper and TeeBaG. Not to mention the return of thekilllermilller and Leather-Monkey. Well, anyone who might have thought LBP was in decline only needs to play through the Spotlighted levels to see that it is very much alive and well. I’m off to play those levels on the list I’ve not got round to yet ...*ignores ever growing pile of ironing on way to PS3*...

Thanks to the Spotlight team for all their hard work. I really don’t know how you guys find the time and the energy, lol! Welcome to Powershifter - good luck with the new role.

Some great levels there again but I've already played nearly all of them as most have been hyped to death and kept on the front page with constant replies ever since they were showcased. I certainly won't be playing CCH's though because his are just way too difficult and totally frustrating. I know that through experience.

It would be nice to see a list of the other levels that were showcased but didn't make the cut if only to show that at least someone on the crew actually played them. It would help to give reasons why they didn't make it too. If we don't know why then we can't possibly know what to improve in future can we.

It would be good too if the PSP levels were given a separate showcase of their own as I for one have no interest whatosoever in the PSP version.

Love it! And.... please don't separate the PSP levels - I use both and love it to be a single list. This is probably the first list that I've only played a handful of them.... got my work cut out for me later.

Fantastic job by the spotlight crew as usual, and this spotlight is needed more than ever as garbage has nearly 100% taken over the cool levels.

Special thanks to V0rtex - the abbreviated list is fantastic. 1 page printing and I'm good for the evening!

Some awesome looking levels in there. Haven't been around much recently so they're all a nice surprise too. Especially looking forward to Zephyr Valley 2 and Jules' level as well.

As for why the team don't list every levels they've played or why they haven't made it: That's what the feedback threads are for and not what the showcase is about. The guys play every level they can and you can rely on at least one member playing a level. Very few, if any, will be missed. So you can be sure that if a level is not included it's for a reason. Often it's broken, too late to make the cut so gets bumped to the next installment or simply not good enough in the eyes of the team.

Anyhoo, well done team, I know the hard work you guys put into this. And welcome to Powershifter.

Wow, praise and good words from Mrvista on the spotlight, guess we must have done something right this edition. Either that or his account has been hacked.

We have discussed a section, a while ago, that had the almost close levels in it, but we don't want people to think they were second best, or get the mulitude of questions asking why they weren't spotlighted etc etc. We do play all levels in the showcase, and you can imagine how much work that is, hence why we are a little defensive when people put down what we do. If we ever realised guidelines, then people might create, along those guidelines, just to be included, people should create for fun, if your level gets included that should be a bonus. And to be honest, we include what we like, some levels look great, others play well but don't look as good etc etc. The guidelines we could realise might be broken, which would in
turn lead to more questions.

Anyway, great levels, well done to those included this edition. I've been doing this nearly a year now and the fact I'm still impressed by what i play each week says a lot for the talent on display on this site

Yes I know that's the theory but it isn't happening, hence the reason I asked the question here. I put my 2 player level in the showcase 2 weeks ago but it hasn't been played hardly and I've had virtually zero feedback on it. There was no point me asking in the thread itself because (1) it would have been bumping which I try not to do and (2) no-one's looking at it anyway so what would be the point?

Firstly, Name a level in the level showcase since I joined the spotlight team... I've played it.

Secondly, you have 2 posts from spotlight team members in your thread (including myself) so clearly we played it.

Thirdly, No-one has time to put detailed comments in every thread of every level we play, but if you search for theadipose, coxy and morganas posts in the level showcase you'll see we do a lot more feedback than almost anyone else.

I can see you seem to be upset about the spotlight system, but I really don't understand why. I'm sorry you feel like the spotlight team is failing you in someway, but I just want to assure you that we DO play the levels, we DO look for new creators as well as the established names, we DO leave feedback in a lot of threads (especially newer creators who might appreciate it) and we DO give up a lot of time to do so. Of course our choices won't always match up with your own personal preference, but your choice of levels wouldnt match up with mine. Having 5 members on the team does mean that we hope to give a balanced selection of level styles.

imho it would be nicer if this thread was a celebration of the great levels that HAVE made it into the spotlight rather than complaints about the system. If you do wish to discuss it further, you are always welcome to PM me. And if you or any other creator does want some feedback on their level, all you have to do is ask. I do think that feedback on a level is something which is given, not demanded.

Congratulations to all the spotlighted levels and their creators.

Look, its as simple as this, your level was'nt good enough for the spotlight. Simple as that.

F4F is a two way thing, if you don't leave feedback then you can't expect any back. Just because you have a "F4F" tag does'nt mean you will get plays. Play other levels, leave them feedback and you can expect the same, don't sit back and accept it, its a two way thing.

I started out by playing other levels, and getting feedback on my own in return. Its this ****ing attitude thats causing the problems in this site.

To be honest MrVista, you do nothing but whine, why the hell you're still part of a game, and community, you obviously despise so much is well beyond me.

Look - I usually try to stay out of these little spats, but I gotta tell ya misterVista, I think it takes incredible nerve to come into this thread and display such selfish belly-aching. The people serving us on the Spotlight crew virtually live and breath LBP and LBPC. There is a fair amount of turnover on the team, and I have to think it is partially due to burnout. And you have the gall to suggest (almost insist) that they double their efforts? Really man, what color is the sky in your world?

Can't we all stop arguing about someone's negative reactions and instead focus on the positive side of this thread? I like it better when people are congradulating the spotlighted people and spotlight crew, not going after the commenters (selfish or not).

So congrads to all those spotlighted! Played all the LBP PSP levels, seeing that my LBP PS3 won't work. Still, great edition!

If you have disagreements with how the Spotlight is managed, either pm your thoughts to CC, one of the moderators or make a thread and respectfully discuss it in the Site Feedback forum.

P.S. Thanks for spotlighting my level!
You are absolutely right! This thread should be about celebrating these creators work. I apologize for stooping to a lower standard. So let me reiterate my earlier sentiments:

Congratulations to all the creators who made the Spotlight, and thanks to the Spotlight crew! Great work by all !!

(thanks CyberSora)

Ummm uhhh.. I think dust has settled a bit.

Congrats to all the creators!! Your efforts have earned you what I consider one of the greatest and coolest achievements in LBP. So happy to see so many outstanding levels getting a much deserved spotlight. I still have a few I haven't had the pleasure to check out, so my play list just got larger!

Thanks again to the hardest working and ummmm "seemingly at times" under-appreciated team this side of the inernet, the Spotlight team. Your herculean efforts to go through the Level Showcase and find us these gems week after week is incredible. Just boggles my mind of how much time and effort you all spend doing this for us. Thank you so much as this team I feel are the lifeblood of the LBPC community. Keep up the great work!

Yeah, you're right, I (we, the spotlight team) should just lie down and take it.

I take it that your mocking my opinion? Look, I'm not saying that the Spotlight Team should just take it. I'm saying that by now the team should be more mature when it comes to people like that. Maybe it was only that time, or maybe its happened before, but I don't think that they're showing good behavior by talking like that to a member. I'm just saying that they could have just dropped it and move on. That was only 1 person, and quite frankly everybody seems to have taken the Spotlights Team side, so I see no reason why to keep arguing.

So, like mrsupercomputer and vortex said, discussing anything else that does not support the team's choices/edition is not allowed on this thread. As for myself, I'm going to just drop this discussion and forget that it happened, seeing that it's already settled.

Peace

Congratulations to all the creators spotlighted!

And thanks for all the 'welcomes' - I'm honored and excited to be a part of the team. I came on shortly after this spotlight was started, and had to learn the ropes my first time around, so I apologize for only getting in on three levels.

I wasn't mocking you at all. We've had a little a bit of criticism lately, and its made me rather angry. I wasn't having a go at you in particular, and I apologise if that's the way that it came across.

Back on topic, congrats to all the creators who were featured, lets be pleased for them instead of bickering amongst ourselves.

I am gonna make it a goal to make a level that would be good enough to be spotlighted.

I figure that with each new level I am getting a little bit better so eventually one has to be good enough right?

Thanks Grantos but I have already given plenty of feedback on other levels and I always state in my first post to let me know what level you want feedback on if I haven't already given it. As you say it's a two way thing, so perhaps you should direct that comment at others.

Thanks for the Spotlight guys, and thanks and congrats to the other creators, some really inspiring levels whatever your tastes, and that's what it's all about.

Adi's proving himself to be a great addition to the team, and Powershifter's another great choice to bring on.

Congratulations to all creators and tks to the team for totally removing the need for finding the great levels out there.

I will totally have to plug back the game to play Jack and MsComp at the very freaking least.

Wewt, spotlight!!! Thanks for checking out the level and the nice writeup Spotlight team! :3 It's a real honor having it among some really excellent levels in this particular spotlight. Star Wars was awesome sauce.

Also, if any of you want to win a free Sackboy courtesy of me, my Knights of the Azure Palace high score contest is going to end on Friday. ^^

I'm sorry, this is sort of a stupid question, but does it matter if I post a level 2-3 days after the new spotlight comes out? I'm just afraid that it will be lost in the sea of other levels by the time the new spotlight comes out and it will miss it simply because of it's timing. I'm just a little paranoid about releasing my level so early =P
Like I said before, it doesn't matter; but I'm just curious.

Shouldn't matter at all. I think at least one of my spotlighted levels was released almost immediately following a spotlight. The crew plays everything posted in the showcase forum between the dates of the spotlight issues (as I understand it).2010-03-10 03:12:00

As a team we commit to playing every single level, so the timing of when you publish your level and post it to the Showcase doesn't really matter. Sometimes we're even playing levels for the next Spotlight before the current one goes live.

By all means though, if you're concerned that we've missed a level then definitely shoot one of us a PM.

Great Spotlight, I have a lot of levels to play. I like the new addition of PSP spotlighted levels. Even though I don't have LBP PSP, I'm sure this will help many great levels get played by the community. Keep up the great work!2010-03-19 17:48:00

I'm honored to be spotlighted. In it's earlier days I was shunned on this site for not being a regular poster. I come in and check it out from time to time....It's the best LBP site on the web and MM should be proud to have such a great community. Glad to know I'm not an outcast and my work is not only being recognized but more importantly played, cause that is why I spent the time to create it in the first place! I'd love to spend more hours here with you guys, but I'm always checking out these sites as well.....just not enough hours in the day I guess:

http://www.game-artist.net/forums/
http://www.drawergeeks.com/
http://forums.mag.com/mag/
http://forums.cgsociety.org/

many....many more....the internet can be such a time sucking beast!

Everyone should love my next creation.....well I should say (remix). Thanks again gang.
