Create falling rock when you touch them?

How do you create a falling rock, when you touch them? Unstabile platforms? Which tools are used? | 2010-03-06 16:47:00 Author: ghik16 Posts: 311 |
You mean you want to jump on a platform and have it fall? Support the platform with some dissolve. Place a sensor switch that activates when you land on the platform. Attach sensor switch to dissolve. If you want to do something like a rockslide, make a platform out of dissolve, then add your rocks on top of it. Same idea. I did this in Fireball Island. | 2010-03-06 16:51:00 Author: Thegide Posts: 1465 |
Have a permenent switch style thing somewhere out of view, and attatch an invisible Rod (Stiff) to the object, and the dissolve material... When the dissolve material dissolves, the rod will dissapear and the object will fall... Don't think I can explain it much simpler than that.. Hope you can undestand what i'm trying to say | 2010-03-06 17:38:00 Author: BlahYourHamster Posts: 177 |
I prefer the dissolve offscreen with the invisible rod methodology. It's marginally less efficient, but means there isn't any visible or audible dissolve. Remember to use the hard edges of an angle sensor prox and take the time to tune it up so that it lines up with the floor. That way you will get a reasonable amount of realism as the platform will seem to break on impact, not just when your sackperson is approaching it. | 2010-03-06 17:43:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
I understand. I would use the one with the invisible rod. | 2010-03-06 20:58:00 Author: ghik16 Posts: 311 |
