Rise of the Undeath II - Darkmist WoodsFlameDrag
http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/7745/foto0061f.jpgYou return to your village, only to find it ravaged by the grasp of death. To make it worse, your friends have been imprisoned, waiting for their execution and dark rebirth. Can you save them? Hurry, there's no time to waste!
Finally i completed the sequel to my level Rise of the Undeath.
A lot of time passed since my last creation, i'm much more skilled (but i still have lot to learn, i swear) on Create Mode, and this level took me 2-3 months (even through it isn't really long).
I worked a lot on the "visual" side, since i got a lot of critics on that aspect on my previous level.
Initially i wanted to use the Paintinator and Water features in this level, but my lack of fortune slapped me.
So, i still need to find the **** PSN card, without it, no packs.
So i decided to make it without. I will surely use Water and Paintinator in the next, final episode of the Saga. (if i find that card... -.-)
I will work on different levels now, so don't expect the last episode of RotU very soon.

Hope you enjoy it.
Oh, and if you find some bug let me know, because you never know, i tested the level ALOT so it should be pretty fixed
and functional.

New Creatures Bestiary:
Ghoul: Poor sackboys turned into mindless minions, they are fast, but not very intelligent, sometimes they fall over themselves, if that happens you can grab them to help them stand up.
Plaguebat: Annoying pests that try to infect you. Unkillable.
Reaper: Powerful Skeletal Sorcerers, there is actually only one of them in all the level. I overheated. They can't be killed (for now...)
Skeletons: Yes, the skeletons we all love and hate from Rise of the Undeath - The Cursed Well.

Changelog:
Version 1.10

- Added Key to this level into Rise of Undeath - The Cursed Well. You can find it at the end of the level.
- New Camera Angles.
- Modified the Red Fire Essence part.

Ok i just played your level; and i feel it was quite intriguing, i found it when you got the woods area it becae platforming and i found it quite hard to get through, i htink it also wouldv'e been better if you hadnt have used so many MM objects. One last thing the zombie baddies fall over on one side so you can't hit the other brain.

I gave 4 stars and a tricky tag.

That's normal, they are meant to be kind of dumb, so sometimes they fall over themselves.
When it happens, just grab them on the opposite side and help them stand up, and deliver the final blow to the brain. (If they are the burned version you can't do it)

As for the MM Objects, i don't know what you are talking about...
I don't remember using MM Objects at all, pretty much 90% of the objects are made by me.
Why you don't tell me?

Lets start off with what you got right. Awsome Lighting, cool enemies, nice little story line, I know what I'm supposed to be doing throughout the whole level. Very good Job. Now some things to work on. Camera Angles. When taking the 'alternate route' there are some spinning spiked death things that you have to jump down to. you should make those visible from above because its MEGA frustrating trying to guess if its safe to jump or not. Also fix the camera angle on the thing that you spin to get the blue flame. I couldn't see the top half of the internal maze well. Overall gave it four stars...really awsome man, I enjoyed it. dont forget to F4F (Death Locker Laboratory).2010-03-07 21:52:00

As you wish.
New Camera zones added. Now it should be easier to see the platforms.

So, played your level.
First of all, I would use other trees. I think they don't fit with the atmosphere.
I like the storyline and gives me a good reason to kill all those bone-throwing enemies.
I would like to play it till the end, but at the part where rocks are blocking the path and you have to jump down to those turning spongeplatforms, I jumped down a hole or something, then I saw some lamps hanging at the right (I think you shouldn't see them) and jumped down left. I landed at a door. You had to open it with 4 stickers. And I don't think this should happen?
I tried to walk back, but it was impossible, so I think it's a sort of bug.
If not, I'm sorry if I didn't understand! If it is a bug, I hope you can fix it and I'll try again.
Then I can give you another feedback later on.

Played your level again loved it.Great camera angles. I also had the pleasure of playing The Cursed Well and i noticed that the obstacles in your first level are far more original and awsome. Now I know that your thermo is probably about to burst, but when you make the third level (which I hope there will be one) try and incorporate some more of those original obstacles like the glowing cube, more spinning grab wheels and mechanized death machines. Now I know that I represent a very small portion of the LBP community, but the reason why I gave your first level 5 stars and your second level 4 stars is because your first level has more observe and react type obstacles, which for me made it a bit more interesting. All in all I think that both levels are great and contribute wonderfully to this series you got goin'. Good Stuff.2010-03-08 19:58:00

Thanks a lot for the support.
The thermo overheated, so i couldn't add more puzzles. Also, the second level is a bit more based on the looks, i used a lot of thermo to make it look good.
The third and last episode will not come very soon, since i still need to find a PSN card... and i want to work on other levels for now.

Yup, it's normal.
After you fall in the hole, you find the Shrine, to go throught the Shrine you need the four Fire essences, you can find them in the level.
You must go left of the Shrine, you don't need to go back.
Remember to turn Prizes on, or else you can't gather the essences.

Hi Flame Dragon

Playing and writing:

MMmmm, its really hard to get up this mountain trail! (where the cacti are, am I doing something wrong?) Ahhh, did it!
Nice lift, grr, missed the jump and got stuck! (POPPED)
Nice skeletons, though tough to kill, could do with a save point half way through?
Keep dying here, definitely could do with a save point so I don't have to keep walking back TO THE ACTION.
Fell through a gap in the bridge.
Lol at your scary tree!
The part where the rocks have fallen, you need a save point nearer the alternative route, again, gets tedious if you are like me and not very good at these games and keep dying. GETTING ANNOYED at keep dying at this point, the spiked pit where you have to monkey climb over it is very tough due to the slanted floor!
GIVE UP!!! I must have tried 40 times (like I said I'm not good at these games)

So, I wont score it, but a few last pointers:
Make sure if you have a tricky part in the game, there is a spawn point RIGHT next to it!
LOTS of score bubbles, in my opinion, too many.
The game basically consisted of, collecting points, and killing skeletons and zombies, a little more variety would be cool.

Sorry I gave up, and sorry that my review is a little harsh, I don't want to upset you, and my criticisms are there to be constructive, not to be hurtful

If you would like to F4F me, my game 'Pirates of the Carob Bean tours' is the only game I have.

Uhm... Nobody ever had difficulty with that part... it's pretty easy, you just need to jump and grab the diseased grass (where the leafs are).
Try again, it's not hard!
After that part, the level changes a little, so try to complete the level, and tell me what you think about it.

I played this level a week ago and it was hard, yet good [but not great]. You should make skeleton enemies a little smaller so they'll be easier to hit and you should consider adding the camera to the circular maze puzzle part because I couldn't see the top half of the puzzle. Keep improving your levels just like I always improve my levels to satisfy LBP players.
P.S. Thanks for reaching up to level 6 of "The Hero Quest" level series.

A few thoughts on this level...

-The beginning is a bit plain...
-I think you used far too many Mm objects
-The cactus makes climbing the rocks difficult because it blocks your view
-I got stuck jumping off the lift and had to pop myself
-There's no music at the beginning, and the whole path to the town seems kind of plain and barren
-The skeleton enemies are a bit too big, I'd say. It's really hard to jump on their heads.
-The zombies frequently fall over, so you can't kill them
-I wasn't sure what to do to get around the rocks
-On the end of a slope leading up to the rocks, I managed to get stuck going down. The second slope going up has a large gap on the right side.

The only MM object i used are the trees at the beginning and the cactus. The rest is completely made by me.
I used them because i wanted to give to the village a .... MM feel. lol
