"The Hero Quest" Level SeriesJustinArt
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=13478As an hero, you'll stop the threat of the Fearsome Monsters. You'll start with being trained by Po The Wiseman. Think you had what it takes to beat all ten of the levels?
I made 10 different Levels called "The Hero Quest". Each Hero Quest Levels has an variety of backgrounds, challenges, obstacles and boss battles. I've been working on each level for 4 to 5 days during my winter break after college and I had an great time creating my own levels. Think you had what it takes to complete all ten of my levels? I'll reveal the first 9 levels, but the 10th level is a mystery so you have to be in LV10 to find out what it is. The 1st level is unlocked but the rest is locked so in order to unlock them, you need to complete the levels in order [For example, if you completed LV1: Training Dojo, you get a key on a score board that unlocks LV2: Animal Jungle.]. Here are the following levels:
The Hero Quest LV1: Training Dojo
Complete 6 tasks including climbing up the big rock for the switch and use the paintinator to fix the lake.
LV2: Animal Jungle
The animals will help you pass through the jungle. You'll mostly use the R1 button in this level as you swing around, ride with the lions, and have Bob The Monkey give you a lift.
LV3: White Mountain
Race your way for points to activate the "Scarecrow" project, then use the jetpack to explore the skies.
LV4: Dynamite Mines
Explore the explosion driven mines filled with explosives. Also features Mine Carts and Drill Objects.
LV5: Ghost Swamp
Find the monster's egg, then come back to the level's entrance to enter the castle where you mostly use the paintinator to defeat the enemies and solve problems.
LV6: Auto City
Ride the Big Truck in the first half of the level but watch out for traps coming from above, then prepare to be chased by the level's boss in the last quarter of the level.
LV7: Skull Island
Swim your way to the island's underwater tunnel and uncover the secrets of the island. If it gets too dark, the angler fishes will help you see better.
LV8: Cyber World
Use the paintinator to destroy the viruses and compete in 8 different games including Pop Quiz, Firebird Race, Electric Maze, and Flaming Dash.
LV9: The Temple of Elements
Explore 4 different rooms that tests your knowledge of Water, Earth, Wind, and Fire. WATER: Wavy real water obstacles and puzzle, EARTH: Moving stones obstacles, WIND: Jetpack maze, and FIRE: Flaming objects obstacles.
LV10: ???????
The last level is a mystery, but I guarantee you, this level is epic.

Hey Vampireslayer99

Nice level - practically bug free and with some fun platforming. I liked how you designed the master, but overall the level felt a bit rough on the visual side. Try polishing up each section with more dynamic designs and use the corner tool.
The challenges were all fun and challenging enough, but the final boss battle was way too easy.

The level didn't impress me at all...
First, you should polish it abit, use the corner tool and make it look better.
Second, the enemies are uninspired, and pathetically easy to beat. The boss looked really bad, like... two blocks with an eye.
The wiseman looks amazing though.

Polish it, make your own ninjas (the MM ones are horrible), and make the boss look better (and he's too easy).
Vote: 2.5

PS: BUG=When you first encounter the ninjas, if you run while you are respawning you fall from the bridge. Make it two layer at least to prevent this.
Feedback to my Darkmist Woods level would be appreciated.

Yeah. I should have make my own ninjas and I should make the boss more detailed. Well it doesn't matter because it's one of my first levels and it is also my first time creating my own characters in this game but thanks for an positive feedback on my first creative character. By the way, have you play the other levels beside 1? You and anyone else can give feedbacks on levels 2-10 in this level thread. Who knows Flame Dragon, you might find the other levels more impressive than the first. I'll check out "Darkmist Woods" the next time I play LBP.
P.S. Cool image you posted in my thread. "Golden Sun" game series is my favorite franchise of the Gameboy Advance era. When will the Nintendo DS version come?

I didn't wanted to sound mean... It was just some critic.
The level itself was pretty fun, but it can be improved A LOT.
I will play the next levels when i can.

PS: I don't know, somewhere in the 2010. I will buy it!

A couple of days ago, I just updated this level. I replaced the MM ninjas with my own ninjas, I made an boss a little more challenging, and I added a few stickers and decorations to make this level look better. Also new to this level is I made a cool 3D layer in the real water section. Level 2 is about to be posted in the level showcase and so will the rest of the levels.2010-03-08 19:09:00

I played the other levels (i stopped after the level 6)... and i have to say you are improving a bit, however your levels need abit more polishing.
Some objects that you (i suppose) made are awesome, like the Wisemen and the Boss of the Lv2, but some other objects are kinda ugly... like the green slug monsters...

I just posted levels 2-6 in the level showcase. I also recently updated those levels too. For example, Level 4 has more stickers and the Mine's entrance has a 3D background, and level 6 has a new way to look out for traps coming from above while riding on a truck. My levels have been improving in each update and it helps me come up with making new levels which I'll be doing this summer. Levels 7-9 will be updated and posted to level showcase tomorrow. In a meantime, check out levels 2-6 in the level showcase and enjoy my levels.2010-03-11 01:13:00

Thanks for posting a level serie that kept me occupied for a good 2 hours
While the levels weren't the best on visual side, they were fun to play and I didn't feel like I was doing the same thing over again... My personal favorite was 9 because of It's multi-pathness and the fact that it had the best gameplay and visuals out of the 10 levels.

While not exactly jaw-dropping, they are a pretty good play for someone that wants to swim through lots of the levels and not worrying to find some new ones for a while

Seemed to remind me of Ozero's Lifehack levels a bit, It is another seriously giant level serie that got a lot better through the end.
The future city level was a lot ahead of these in the visuals, but using the corner editor and/or grid would help making them feel more polished.
F4F level: Red Eagle 2: B2 Bermuda. It's pretty long so take your time to play it (30+ minutes)

Well done Arradi. You're the 1st LBPcentral member [I suppose] to beat all 10 of my levels. Congratulations.:star:

Remember everyone, I also have the first 9 levels in the level showcase and so does "Future City Los Angeles". Be sure to check them out.

All of my "THE HERO QUEST" has been updated. I polished them further and certain areas have changed too. Thanks to the Vera Bee stickers and the rare stickers that didn't make the cut to be the prize, I decorated my levels even further too. I'll tell you about my newly updated levels in each level starting with this level.

In Training Dojo, I added a few more stickers to level and I polished the level with the corner edit tool. Plus I added the LBPcentral logo sticker near the the end of the level. This level has huge improvements and I would like to thank Insomnia_Fm, Flame Dragon, and Arradi for the feedbacks that helped me make my levels better. Hope my improvements make my levels even more polished and fun than ever.

As of today, all of my "The Hero Quest" levels are now in one thread. The first 12 replies you see are only when this thread is once "LV1 Training Dojo". Now you can say anything about any of my "The Hero Quest" levels in this thread.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to delete the rest of my "The Hero Quest" level threads so that they won't spam the level showcase.

Thanks ChocoGirl. That would explain some new tags added to my levels that day. Nicely done getting through all ten of my levels and giving my levels brand new tags.

sounds interesting ill look it up tonight

Hope you enjoy my levels Delirium.

Levels 3, 5, and 8 have been updated. Thanks to the "Jon Burgerman Sticker Kit", "Sonic The Hedgehog Costume Pack", "Wipeout Costume Pack", and "2000AD Costume Pack", I added more sticker to these levels. Level 3 only has visually updated, but these new stickers came in really handy. Level 5 was now bug free [As I noticed the beginning of the level that there's a bug] ; plus with those weird but funny stickers made by "Jon Burgerman", I added these strange creatures to this level, and I also fixed the sounds at the beginning of the elevator. Level 8 was updated with new stickers added, a new set of visuals including a new 3D object, and I polished one of the areas of the level.

I just updated some levels today. Levels 1, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 has new materials from "The Incredibles" level kit and many levels now has new set of stickers from that level kit plus Killzone, Ico, and Egyptian Costume pack. Also a new platforming gameplay was added in level 4 thanks to the Drill Objects, an "No Caper" music was added to level 6, and I added a bit of real water in level 5 to make it more swampy. Hope my newest update makes my level series more exciting than ever.
