Tales of a LittleBigFantasy: Chapter 1thi766
WARNING: Very long level takes about 40 minutes to play

This is the first chapter of a series also i wanted the player to feel like he was really playing a RPG, and not littlebigplanet. It even has a Final Fantasy - like battle system, and sidequests, etc..
It was something completely new to create because i made the story and everything myself and i really wanted it to be captivating to play. Due to the length of the level, the player will also recieve 3 different "checkpoint" stickers, with wich they can automaticly be redirected to a specific part of a level and skip the rest.
Like i said, the level is very long, so there are alot of different areas. Sometimes you cant continue so you have to talk to everyone multiple times to find out what to do next, also in some parts you are just standing still and watching a cutscene. My grammar skills may not be the best because im german though, so i apologize about that.

The main story is basically that you are a traveller, that searches for a mysterious invincible power that only the chosen one can access to, and one day when you were travelling your ship got destroyed by the storm and some villagers of the city Vestoria found you and a few others washed up at the shores. At the begin, you have to explore the city, and you will find out that Vestoria has a few political issues and you have to accompany Elisabeth (who found you inconcious and recieved you in her home) to the speech of the new mayor who turns out to be the lord Russel (muscles) and reveals his plan to turn all sacks to slaves.
The emperor Steven will slowly die because of illness wich will give the power to his nephew, Russel. Russel is seeking for the same power that you do, so you decide to go on your quest. You will meet a man named Qualion, who stole your researches and analyzed them, and you will accept his offer to follow him with his boat, because he knows the location of the Seelow Temple, where the Stone of kings is located. You have to go through the Faroon Woods first, and you will be able to find the secret entrance to Seelow.

http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=17351 The battle system is turn-based; like in a RPG, you will have the choice between different weapons like Swords, paintballs or Crossbows. You also have a few magic sorts such as Protes, or Analyse.

I played this level already before you introduced it in this site and I'm impressed with the RPG style gameplay. The checkpoints are a great idea to this really long level but I already played through the entire level. You need to fix the small steps near the water puzzle cause I'm having a hard time reaching the blocks and you need to somehow fix the dragon's attack cause it looks like it continues to attack while my allies make their move. The rest of it are good though. 8 out of 10.2010-03-06 16:32:00

Pro-The turn-based RPG fight scene was really cool. The puzzles were mind boggling and the mood of the level was cool, too.

Con-A few major parts in the turn-based fight scene broke, but I still finished it.

Overall- :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: and a heart 8D

I've played this a few times now and eventually managed to finish it.

You probably remebmer me leaving comments on the level about 'those weights' ! but thankfully you've taken that on board and inproved them immensely. Well done for that.

I love RPG's anyway so I did enjoy most of this and thought you did some great stuff throughout and very cleverly too. The turn-based boss was genius and something I've wanted to do ever since getting LBP but I've no idea how.

The only problem I had with the boss fight was that I just seemed to be an onlooker which made it drag somewhat. It took a long time for it to come round to my go and then it was only there for a split second. The first few times I was trying to read what it said on the boards but it kept disappearing too quick. Then when I did try to choose an attack I jumped up to grab one and they retracted off the screen again and took me with them and killed me. I got killed more times while trying to choose my attack than at any point in the level. Although that was very clever I just didn't enjoy it.

Overall though you did a great job. Nice design, good story and fun characters. We definitely need more of this sort of level in LBP and less of those **** bomb/shark/hotel/lemon and crappy levels.

P.S. From what I've read about the new FF13 so far your level is probably better than that so well done !

I played this yesterday and was planning on putting it in the Recommendations thread.
I find it really cool but there are a few problems.
First, during the boss fight, the camera angle wouldn't let me see the bosses health bar. I'm not sure if it was my fault though
Second, in the weights puzzle, I got mixed up and put them the wrong way.
I couldn't take them out, so I had to restart. If you still have space left, I suggest you put a reset mechanism.
Overall, I think it's the best level I've played in days.
Hope you release Part 2
:star::star::star::star::star:, Hearted and a Brilliant tag, I think :kz:

Thank you all for taking your time and giving me your opinion i really appreciate it
Also i think i forgot to mention that you dont have to keep hold the grab switches in the boss fight or you get killed in the gas or the magic menu may break (happens very rarely though). I cant explain the logic more detailed because its just way too complicated. I wanted to make it copyable so that people could find out how it works but i obviously didnt do it since people would steal it
