Wow, thats quite a contest there jack! Unfortunately it won't find LBP's finest creator because of the region locked PSN cards (curse them!) but this should help find one of the best in the Americas | 2010-03-04 08:00:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
So a 9 month contest huh? Hopefully you don't forget about it by then XD ... Speaking of which... Why don't you just give me the money RIGHT NOW in preparation for LBPC: Teh Gamez... You know it'll RAWK. GIMME TEH MONEY! GIMME TEH FRICKIN MONAH! :arg: Oh wait, rule number 5... meh, we, I tried to weasel my way to a 50 dollar prize D: Ah well, good luck anyone who enters... though considering the open qualifications, everyone should probably join anyway XD Ah well. Maybe I could be a judge... Would give me an excuse to play more levels finally >_> | 2010-03-04 11:38:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Wow, thats quite a contest there jack! Unfortunately it won't find LBP's finest creator because of the region locked PSN cards (curse them!) but this should help find one of the best in the Americas Well, the only reason it's for the U.S. only is because, well... I dunno how to transfer dollars to euros/pounds ;_;. BUT, I have other plans... so don't be surprised if you see it open up to Europe soon. So a 9 month contest huh? Hopefully you don't forget about it by then XD ... Speaking of which... Why don't you just give me the money RIGHT NOW in preparation for LBPC: Teh Gamez... You know it'll RAWK. GIMME TEH MONEY! Maybe I could be a judge... Would give me an excuse to play more levels finally >_> Don't worry, I won't forget. Besides, this is my excuse from using the "Level Search" feature. Oh, and just because you've got the home-field advantage doesn't guarantee you a win. Good luck! | 2010-03-05 00:24:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
So... could I be a judge? Haven't really tried before, but I surprised myself with LBPC: The Game, so, uh... I unno, maybe? D: Yeah ... I really need to do more in LBP ;o | 2010-03-05 00:40:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
So... could I be a judge? Haven't really tried before, but I surprised myself with LBPC: The Game, so, uh... I unno, maybe? D: Yeah ... I really need to do more in LBP ;o I think you should.. moving controller more, waving of arms and all evil less. Might be good therapy for you! @Jack.. I take it a level that has not yet been published or started? I don't see any specifics concerning already existing levels and might want to clarify. | 2010-03-05 01:16:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
AWESOME SAUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets say you have co-creators but agree to let one person have the money. Does rule 5 still apply :3 | 2010-03-05 03:41:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 Posts: 1924 |
I think you should.. moving controller more, waving of arms and all evil less. Might be good therapy for you! @Jack.. I take it a level that has not yet been published or started? I don't see any specifics concerning already existing levels and might want to clarify. Whoops! Didn't realize that. But no, any level that you've published old OR new (that doesn't violate any of the rules, mind you ) can be submitted. AWESOME SAUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lets say you have co-creators but agree to let one person have the money. Does rule 5 still apply :3 Well, the only problem with that is how you're gonna agree on who'll recieve that money. I mean, $50 is actually alot when you put it into PSN terms. But then again, I didn't say that was the only prize... Besides, I have a few months to build momentum for this, so it'll catch on soon, I hope O_o. Oh, and you can enter levels into the competition startiiiing.... NOW. (Actually, you could've started entering as soon as this thread was published, but... meh, nevemind.) | 2010-03-06 03:08:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Sounds great! Hopefully I'll be able to put a level together by then, but I highly doubt it.... Haha! | 2010-03-06 19:32:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Woop Woop i made the judges. | 2010-03-06 19:48:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
Oh, I didn't see that I was a primary panelist, I thought you were ignoring me... ;o Well, anyway... Yeah, just tell me when I can begin doing whatever I'm doing, hopefully this will work out... and hopefully i'll get MONAH. J/k. Yeah... Anyway, /waits for stuff to happen | 2010-03-06 20:09:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Wow, with that prize this is going to be an amazing year for levels!!! I can't wait to see what people come up with! | 2010-03-06 20:11:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |

Wow, with that prize this is going to be an amazing year for levels!!! I can't wait to see what people come up with! Yeah, $50 sure is alot. But remember, that might not be the only prize... | 2010-03-06 20:18:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
It's catching on, only been 3 days, you have a year | 2010-03-07 07:35:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 Posts: 1924 |
If it were possible to get this as an "Official Site Contest" It would probably get more attention if we could get it there and then it would be put as news on the front page.... But that may not be allowed and/or might be too much work for all of you guys. Just a thought, you know EDIT: Or at least get it stickied on this forum, but I'd vote for front page news! | 2010-03-08 01:43:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
^^^ Actually, that's what I was aiming for! Though, with me being a lowly outlaw... I feel the chance is slim to none. | 2010-03-08 05:16:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
It's a tie between MrSuperComputer, rtm223, comphermc, kiminski, and jackofcourse. Lock please. lol. | 2010-03-08 05:43:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
Outlaw should i talk to CC see if he would move this to official contests? | 2010-03-08 09:11:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
Well I'm going to work on a level or levels for this. Hopefully by the end of the year I can have something that has a chance at winning. | 2010-03-08 10:22:00 Author: shebhnt Posts: 414 |
Well I'm going to work on a level or levels for this. Hopefully by the end of the year I can have something that has a chance at winning. Don't worry about it. I can almost guarantee that every person that enters has an equal shot at winning. ^_^ Besides, not only will me and my judges (... where are you? O_o) play through the levels, we will also try to destroy them as much as possible... and the panel is still open! C'mon, sign up!! :kz: Outlaw should i talk to CC see if he would move this to official contests? Erm, sure, you can try; just don't be surprised if he doesn't feel like it... | 2010-03-08 15:02:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Ye lol i am extremely good at breaking stuff especially Rocket Cheetahs. Erm two questions tho Outlaw? Can the judges enter? And can it be created by a team of 2 people or more in Online Create? | 2010-03-08 15:06:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
Ye lol i am extremely good at breaking stuff especially Rocket Cheetahs. Erm two questions tho Outlaw? Can the judges enter? And can it be created by a team of 2 people or more in Online Create? The rules say that the judges can enter and that it can't be made by two people, I think... Edit: Yes, the above it true. Jack: Maybe we could sign a petition type thing if CC says no because of whatever reason. Not like anything that would turn violent (lol), just to show that enough people are interested and that it has spunk! | 2010-03-08 19:52:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Oh aweosme didn't realise it said that i'ma so entering. | 2010-03-08 20:07:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
I'm still here, I would be posting more but I'm waiting for info on what I should do comes out, and haven't seen any reason to post <_>. Personally I feel the challenge may be too broad for official site support... but meh. | 2010-03-08 21:49:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Its not a challenge put on by the site, which makes it seem unlikely it will end up there to me. However, CC could certainly help boost popularity with an announcement (Ala LBPCTG or Knights of the Azure Palace). | 2010-03-08 22:16:00 Author: Burnvictim42 Posts: 3322 |
Announcment + sticky = More interest/participants!!! I think this is a good competition, it just needs quite a few people to make it great and challenging! P.S. I'll try and keep replying on this thread to keep it on page one for you. I want this competition to go well for everyone here!! | 2010-03-09 02:07:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
So Outlaw, you may wanna make a format/ rules for judging... someday... soon. Yeah. I wonder if there's some way I can obtain that money... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :kz: Anyway, yeah, I'll be waiting D: | 2010-03-09 02:09:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
I am so in. Even if I can't win (or enter being Canadian), I got to at least try. | 2010-03-09 03:07:00 Author: Unknown User |
WOW nice contest, i'm going to try and get a prize for uk contesters if i can. Also I would like to help judge if thats ok Jack. | 2010-03-09 09:29:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
WOW nice contest, i'm going to try and get a prize for uk contesters if i can. Also I would like to help judge if thats ok Jack. WOW, seriously?! Then that means that if YOU can get a prize for the Brits... then I can open it up to UK players as well! Oh, and you're in. | 2010-03-09 14:01:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Awesome im in UK as well lol nice, EDIT: wha how come robo got primary? im not arguing just wondering? | 2010-03-09 14:04:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
Awesome im in UK as well lol nice, EDIT: wha how come robo got primary? im not arguing just wondering? Well, if he does provide something for the UK, then he might have to grade on a slightly higher level. Trust me, I wasn't playing around when I typed up all of those Rules/Guidelines... | 2010-03-09 14:07:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Wow... Thats a LOOOONG dedline! Ima Have to say no! ModNation Racers will probably have caught me up in its lust by then! | 2010-03-09 14:09:00 Author: Tawarf Posts: 457 |
I'll probably offer ?40 of psn cards but with such a long deadline I may get more. | 2010-03-10 13:15:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
I'll probably offer ?40 of psn cards but with such a long deadline I may get more. Well, that's my plan too. As time (and my personal wealth) stretches on, I am intending on obtaining more items and prizes to add to the "final" reward (maybe 2nd and 3rd place as well). Just a reminder, you may enter ANY level (that doesn't violate the rules), new OR old!! So if you have a level sittin' around with nothin' to do, enter it! It's worth a shot!! | 2010-03-11 03:24:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
With all of the posts building up in this thread, do you think it'd be worth it to make a submissions thread? | 2010-03-11 11:48:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
I dont think we should really clutter the forums with a seperate submissions thread. due to the nature of the judgeing a second thread is not needed. | 2010-03-11 14:29:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
this really has wings now... Wow... thats just amazing | 2010-03-11 19:23:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
I dont think we should really clutter the forums with a seperate submissions thread. due to the nature of the judgeing a second thread is not needed. I really don't think that one more thread would make much of a difference in the clutter of the forums, just a way to help you guys find the levels and for others to find them easier to play them if they wanted to. It's totally up to the judges and I won't fight to the death about it! | 2010-03-11 19:44:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Cool, new or old? Awesome. I think I may have to enter then... the question is, am I going to be able to make a new level to top my old ones (and everyone else's for that matter)? Interesting contest. Color me intrigued. | 2010-03-11 20:01:00 Author: comphermc Posts: 5338 |
Well, I am not an expert level creator by any means, but I know a good one when I see one, so if you don't mind I'd like to sign up for a panel. Current age is 14, and you know I'm around | 2010-03-11 20:42:00 Author: Astrosimi Posts: 2046 |

Interesting contest. Color me intrigued. Oh man Comph! I really want to compete against you! Even if I know I won't be able to top you unless I put my heart and soul (and countless hours of creating) into it! Haha | 2010-03-11 21:33:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

When do we actually start judging? | 2010-03-13 01:24:00 Author: Jazve Posts: 341 |
When do we actually start judging? As soon as submissions start rolling in, so... C'MON, PEOPLE!! GET SUBMITTIN'!!! | 2010-03-13 03:13:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
A competition this epic needs a prize crown... and possibly a brand new costume piece that only this one person will get! Come on it's for the best creator! | 2010-03-13 09:44:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
So if it's a code that can be won I could actually enter eventhough I'm not in the US, right? Because all you really need is a US account. | 2010-03-13 11:59:00 Author: Syroc Posts: 3193 |
I guess so, as of right now the contest is open to all UK and US residents. As the SONY term of usage contract says you should only open PSN accounts in the country that you reside from we cannot condone opening an alternate account. However I see no obligation in not allowing anyone who has an account open. However ultimately it would be Jacks decision as he is the one running the contest. | 2010-03-13 12:18:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Well, if you are a foreign resident with a US account, then I guess you'd be eligible for the $50 cash prize (and the other stuff that will be added). However, if you enter two separate accounts (i.e. one UK and one US) in the competition, then I'd have no choice but to disqualify you from the competition. It's unfair to those who only have one account and takes an unfair advantage over the rest. So, you may only enter ONE account, and only one. Speaking of prizes... should I try contacting CC (or Mm) about this? Not sure if it'll do anything, but it's worth a try... right? | 2010-03-13 18:53:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Well now that its open to the UK you can count me in! Im pretty sure i can come up with somethin by the deadline Great idea for a competition btw! Hopefully we will get alot of great levels to play because of it | 2010-03-15 00:30:00 Author: TonyTwoGunz Posts: 139 |
Speaking of prizes... should I try contacting CC (or Mm) about this? Not sure if it'll do anything, but it's worth a try... right? Definately, even if you dont get any prizes to give away the publicity will be great for a contest of this caliber. | 2010-03-16 10:33:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
OK! I'm in! With the caliber of the possible entrants this will be quite a challenge...but what could be better than to push ones selves to the limit and beyond to create the greatest LBP level ever! (OK scale it back a little...) Err greatest LBP level of the year! (just a little bit more...) Greatest level I ever made! (OK that sounds about right!) Thank the heavens I have 9 months...funny thats how long it take to make a child...levels that are truly a labor of love! LOL Good Luck All! | 2010-03-17 15:22:00 Author: AJnKnox Posts: 518 |

I am working heavily on a level right now and I think it's looking pretty good so far! I mean no way it's a Level of The Year nominee, let alone winner, but it is definitly solid. It may end up being a two level thing, I'll have to wait and see how the creating goes. Good thing I've got summer vacation in a little while! Here's a little teaser pick! It looks TONS better when you see the real thing though. I hope I'll have some people to compete against! 14301 | 2010-03-21 23:35:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Golly! I'll sure have to do this! With about eight months i'll be able to churn out a masterpiece! | 2010-03-24 00:30:00 Author: Unknown User |
Well, it looks like we're off to a good start... if only 4 judges and no entries was "good". Judging spots are STILL OPEN!! We've got, like, 6-7 spots still up for grabs, so get to it!! I'll explain everything in the group. And... where are THE ENTRIES?! You can submit any new or OLD (emphasis on the OLD, ahem) any time now! My panel is patiently waiting for entries to roll in so please, GET TO IT!! I'm sorry if I'm sounding abit like a nag or something right now, but it just irks me that I'm putting up $50 (and robotiod putting up an untold amount for the UK) and no-one's excited about this. Oh, and I'm starting to think... what would be an appropriate shirt-size? A large? Medium? Or just find one as soon as we find a winner? | 2010-03-24 05:48:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Well im working on my entry lol, we have 5 peeps working on it lol. | 2010-03-24 18:15:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
I'm definitly interested, as you see I'm making a level right now! I really can't submit any of my old levels because, well, they're bad. We've just got to keep this on the first page to keep people interested. A sticky would be soooo nice.... | 2010-03-26 00:28:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Guyses i got my entry for this level done heres thread hope yiou like it https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=24449-Magiks-The-Return-of-Dragalaz-a-level-for-LBPC-s-Grand-Adventure | 2010-03-26 22:03:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |

OMG!! OoO We finally got an entry!!! JUDGES!! WHERE ARE YOU?!?! WE'VE GOT WORK TO DO!!! (oh, and lbpholic, it would be nice if you filled out the enrty form on the front page in order to clear up some confusion. Thanks!) | 2010-03-27 02:23:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
AN ENTRY D: ... wait, it says it was made by five people? O_o D: Rule number 5... <_< >_> D: | 2010-03-27 02:24:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Huh? O_o *looks at rules* Oh... sorry lbpholic, but it doesn't qualify with the rules. (Man, I thought we had one this time...) | 2010-03-27 02:28:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
This competition seems truly epic. Though I really hope it is not forgotten...I'm sure there will be some killer levels submitted. | 2010-03-27 03:20:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |
Is it open to residents of the Republic of Ireland?? I really want an excuse like this to try making something great! | 2010-03-27 03:38:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |
Yay an entry! Aww...it violates the rules @OneEyedBanshee: I think Rule Number 15 says you can if you have a US or UK account. *hides in the corner again* | 2010-03-27 06:22:00 Author: Jazve Posts: 341 |
Guess that's a no. Call me lazy but I really can't be bothered setting up another account! | 2010-03-27 06:58:00 Author: OneEyedBanshee Posts: 1370 |
Wha no Outlaw_Jack u said to me that u can do llevels wiht multiple people but you have to decided how to distribute the prize, otherwise i never would have done this, i specifically remember you saying this. | 2010-03-27 07:44:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
Wha no Outlaw_Jack u said to me that u can do llevels wiht multiple people but you have to decided how to distribute the prize, otherwise i never would have done this, i specifically remember you saying this. That is true, he did say that. So, is it in? Or out? | 2010-03-27 11:08:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
I would say that it should be allowed and just give the prize to the psn user the level is published under, if the publisher (in this case LBPholic) did win and he kept the prizes it would be him who would have to tell the people who helped him that he won. That he got prizes. and that he isn't sharing. However knowing that LBPholic is a nice person i know he would share his prizes with whoever helped him. | 2010-03-27 11:24:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
On the first post can you change the colour of 'Primary Panelists'? Yellow is hard to see... | 2010-03-27 11:36:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Doopz you just blinded me with that yellow. I wish it was a bit darker. | 2010-03-27 11:39:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Lols, thanks guys, and to be honest i'm not really interested in the prize i just wanted something to motivate me into making a good level lol, but yeah if i do win i will share equally, and if it dosent split evenly ill have the least amount. So yeah thats it really lol. | 2010-03-27 11:49:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
Well, if you can work out the whole prize thing, then I'll allow it. Besides, I already played it and pitched in my 2-cents about it. Oh, and I've change the color to blue for the Primary Panelists, just so y'know. (BUT... just for the heck of it, MOAR YELLOW!!! :kz: ) | 2010-03-28 04:01:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
If lbpholic is allowed to show his joint effort, I demand to be able to enter LBPC The Game. And since we all know that will win, I DEMAND MAI 50 BUCKS RIGHT NAO | 2010-03-28 13:22:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
Lols that wouldnt work cause the levels wearnt made during the competiton time. | 2010-03-28 14:03:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
The rules state that old levels can be submitted... Oh wait! LBPC The Game?! *ahem* Nevermind lbpholic his right *ahem* | 2010-03-28 15:19:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
If lbpholic is allowed to show his joint effort, I demand to be able to enter LBPC The Game. And since we all know that will win, I DEMAND MAI 50 BUCKS RIGHT NAO lol... Rock, you may want to reread the panel rules that it seems you are a part of. 3. You must be unbiased, honest and neutral throughout the competition. ..and speaking of that pesky honesty thing, I would think you should have actually created the level rather than simply managing / writing the storyline. However regardless how it plays out, thanks for the entertainment! | 2010-03-28 16:33:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
If lbpholic is allowed to show his joint effort, I demand to be able to enter LBPC The Game. And since we all know that will win, I DEMAND MAI 50 BUCKS RIGHT NAO Hah! You really think that a series about this website is gonna guarantee you success? Oh-ho! That's funny... Although I may be charismatic most of the time (almost always)... I'm a Nazi when it comes to reviews. First submission, automatically off the bat it was too dark for my taste. Secondly, the story lost significance in the beginning and end of the level (most of it was spoken in the middle of the level). Thirdly, the boss at the end is frustratingly difficult. The ground constantly lurched up (which broke my focus) and sometimes launched me into the boss' hazards. The pacing was sporatic and confusing ( I was shooting randomly for the first half until I made progress). The level of detail on the boss was subpar compared to the rest of the level. And... I did NOT necessarily enjoy the boss either. If it weren't for the infinite checkpoint conveniently placed out of range, I probably would of, say, thrown the controller at the cat. And that's just a fraction of what I think of the level. I don't think this one's gonna be a winner either (let alone yours). :kz: But, if you can manage to sort out those $50 amongst the others, I can allow it. Don't say I didn't warn you... ^_^ | 2010-03-28 16:41:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Oh well I cant wait to judge LBPC the game, ******* Jack antagonizing again I'm going to have to wait to review Holics level though, something about getting 3 hours sleep makes me not want to play the PS3,. ******* wresteling. Am I in a bad mood? | 2010-03-29 08:09:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |

Alrighty! Just contacted CC and explained everything. Now I know what I need to do... -Judging spots are still open! I know the wall of text might make it look scary, but it's very easy! Really! All you'd need to do is just fill in numbers and throw in your 2-cents! That's it. Really simple! -Starting now, I'm also throwing in a LBP shirt (in the size of your choice) and my own LBP strategy guide (the BradyGames version) into the prizes for either US or UK. -Entries!! We need entries!! Like, ASAP! It doesn't matter if your level is old or new or never released! If you think it's the best out there, then enter it! Just make sure it's eligible first... -Finally... I'm thinking of advertising this competition on LBN (LittleBigNetwork and LBW (LittleBigWorkshop). I wanna have your guy's opinions/comments first before I dive in. I wanna try to garner as much attention as possible (I mean, come on, we're talking about $50 and whatever robotiod's pitching in, people!). I absolutely refuse to let this competition die, so if you're thinking I'm abit hyped up right now... you're right! Now would be the time to post and questions/comments. | 2010-03-29 20:19:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
Yes Advertise as much as you can it will get loads more plays. | 2010-03-29 21:24:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |
I feel like I've just signed a death sentence... ;_; The competition has now spread over to LittleBigNetwork!! Not only will this churn out more entries (hopefully), but it seems now that this is gonna be an all-out "War of the Sites"!! How will I manage the chaos that'll ensue!!... By giving them the exact same rules, that's what. So... do your home-boy proud, and represent LBPC!! :kz:!! (Now to try LBW... may God have mercy on my soul...) | 2010-03-30 06:15:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
OK i'm going to make a account over at network, eeek. | 2010-03-30 08:52:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |

/cough Yeah, I can't review. So I'm dropping out... of judging. AYE OH AYE OH | 2010-04-02 12:58:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
why cant you review?????? | 2010-04-02 13:00:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Because I can't think like that, and if I have to pull a numerical value for an abstract concept such as how good something is, I'd just make it up, perhaps related to how much I like said person, and that wouldn't be fair at all, would it, having a judge who just picks numbers out of nowhere because he can't process how you can add numerical values to abstract concepts. So bai. | 2010-04-02 13:04:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |

So bai. You know, I have the same problem (or at least similar), I find it too much to judge on with those judging guidelines. Sorry, I understand this will be pretty bad for the contest but I'm really sorry, I'm leaving also. I didn't expect this type of judging, I thought it would be a little easier. Again, sorry, I've left the group. | 2010-04-02 15:40:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
WOW, guys i'm sorry to hear it. But when some people jump off the horse its all good for other people to jump on so does anyone else want to judge in this competition. It really isn't as hard as it sounds. | 2010-04-02 15:55:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Yep, it's all good, it's all fun and games being a judge! I'm just too stupid to do the job! (When do I get paid for that?) | 2010-04-02 17:12:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Hopefully this will get more people into judging... JUDGING FORMAT Alright... since the old rules were too harsh, I'm lowering my expectations a little. Instead of a harsh system of averages and maths, I'll dumbify it to a much LOWER level: Secondaries will give an overall score of 1-5 (points are allowed), Primaries will give a score of 1-10, and me and robotiod will give a score of 1-15. Also, please give a "play ratio" score (chances you'll play it again) on a scale of "very low" to "very high". All you must do now is leave a small comment in the following catagories: MAIN CATAGORIES (Used for ALL levels) - Concept (What it's about) - Visuals (How it looks) - Logic (How it plays) - Difficulty (How hard it is) - Fun (How fun it is to play) SERIES CATAGORIES (Also to be used with MAIN CATAGORIES) -Series score (S: 1-5, P: 1-10, L: 1-15) _____________ Since this IS an unbiased and fair panel of judging, I'm giving you the freedom to judge by your OWN scale. Do NOTE though, that this scale, once decided, must be consistant with ALL judging (including your own and freind's levels). If any of these conditions (including the ones in the main thread) are violated, you may and most likely will be rejected from the Panel and will also be disqualified from the competition. I wish you all the best of luck, and... let's get judging!! (If you have any questions, feel free to post... now.) | 2010-04-02 17:40:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |
ARRRGH, I have to re judge LBPHOLICS level now | 2010-04-03 08:13:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
@Outlaw: In the Concept, Visuals blah blah, do we comment on it or do we use numbers? | 2010-04-03 08:48:00 Author: Jazve Posts: 341 |
I gave a number like all the others, but its always helpful to leave a comment to back yourself up. | 2010-04-03 08:51:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
Um, 9 months... Well, I've got plenty of time to start working on a level, cancel it, as usual, and begin something totally different ! Just one point : You are only allowed to enter 1-5 levels OR a multi-level series. Does this mean that we can enter a series with more than 5 levels (but only 5 levels if they are different) ? Thanks in advance, this sounds exciting ! | 2010-04-04 15:37:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |
Hm... Does that mean I can enter LBPC: The Game? Then again I didn't really build anything, I tell other people what to make, so it may not be fair to them if I get the money... I just want the money. NOW GIMME Tell ya what, you give me the money now, I'll punch Doopz in the face. Deal? | 2010-04-04 16:17:00 Author: RockSauron Posts: 10882 |
- Difficulty (How hard it is) Uhm, how does this get rated..? Cause.. like.. yeah.. you know.... Of course I understand that you rate the diffculty, but I don't see what's the perfect diffculty... | 2010-04-04 19:35:00 Author: Fredrik94 Posts: 342 |
Fredrik, I quite agree. I guess there's no perfect difficulty, but a player must be able to complete a good level without being stuck all along. I think it's important to add some puzzles demanding concentration and thought. Actually it depends what kind of level you're working on, sure. | 2010-04-04 21:36:00 Author: Oddmania Posts: 1305 |

Oooh good idea. I'd like to donate a prize for this contest. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14880 Only thing is, what if I enter and win? | 2010-04-06 00:55:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Oooh good idea. I'd like to donate a prize for this contest. http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=14880 Only thing is, what if I enter and win? Well then, you have the priviledge of punching yourself in the face. ^_^ Anywho, on with answers!!: @Fredrik: In terms of "difficulty" rating, it'll be on the scale provided. It should correspond to the expected difficulty of the level. I strongly reccommend that the judges leave a comment in regards to their decision. Also, remember the "."s. And yes, a series can have more than 5 levels. That's why I threw that option in. BUT (I'll add this to the rules), if you enter a series with over 5 levels, then that'll be your ONLY entry in the competition. @Jazve: You rank by the numbers. If the difficulty's perfect, rank it a 5. If it's horrible, rank it a 1. And so on and so forth. Leaving a little comment would be appreciated. One more thing... how in blazes am I gonna be able to get someone to punch Doopz in the face? (Hmm... perhaps some rope and crazy glue could work... ~_^) (But then again, holding him at gunpoint doesn't hurt either... :kz | 2010-04-07 05:04:00 Author: Outlaw-Jack Posts: 5757 |

What about including an input for Audio and Sound Effects in the judging format? I personally believe sound is an important asset in a good level. | 2010-04-07 16:33:00 Author: Night Angel Posts: 1214 |

I'll enter my new level 1. Your PSN-Kody59527 2. Your Level-Side Scrolling Platformer 3. Location of the Level-Eastern United States 4. Brief Description of the Level-The basic idea is that instead of Sackboy moving the camera, the camera pans to the right by itself. This level is seperated by 3 stages Sky, Field, & Tundra. 5. Why you think your Level is "The Best" -It utilizes a awesome concept not used in most levels (scrolling camera) -It features a difficulty and reward selector. (Easy, Medium, & Hard.) The harder the difficulty, the faster the camera, and the bigger the reward at the end. -Unique music selector. It has menu music, but when you enter a stage, the music you selected at the beginning starts playing, then when you return back the menu music starts back up. -It's a level of 3 stages. It's 3 levels packed into one! ^_^ -Eye candy! (Check the Tundra stage ) | 2010-06-27 00:33:00 Author: Kody59527 Posts: 121 |
