Realistic Engine Logic

Archive: 10 posts

While messing around with a contraption I was intending on making for CC10 I made a piece of logic that allowed it to have a tick over onceactivated and a variable speed when held, then coming to an instantaneous stop, it may seem simple but it's a concept that I would love seeing in the LBP community... As Heston blumethal says "take from the community, Develop then feed back into the loop" so here I am... Feeding back into the loop...

Both CompherMC and RTM223 have seen this as well as a few other members of my friends list...

Any thoughts?

Was this your pull-to-start boat engine that you were showing off?2010-03-03 02:28:00

You mean tap to go slow, tap again to go fast, tap again to stop, etc? I'm confused.

Just a while ago I found out speed-set levers were bidirectional (as oppose to omnidirectional like I thought they were) and I've been making all kinds of wacky acceleration-based driving controls.

It works like a lwanmower engine, whereby if you imagine tapping the grab switch as pulling the cord, upon the third "pull" the propulsion will start. Or at least that ws the case in the example kernel showed me, a speedboat.
Works quite well too!
