Bloodeaters Scrapheap Scramble!thekillermiller http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2757/4388539248_f92448f0f7_b.jpgZombies!! What more needs to be said? Well I had hoped to release this for Halloween, we'll that didn't happen. Ah well better late than never I say. Enjoy! This time you're off fighting zombies in a junkyard. Took me awhile to get this zombie working. He moves around and his head explodes when you shoot him.....well, in the head of course! I ran over on my temperature gauge before I could do a boss, but it's still a good time without it. Level Name: Bloodeaters Scrapheap Scramble! I've actually played this a few times already (wanted to get all of your items). You have fantastic character design and the loud color style always looks so good. The level itself was fun, but I felt the zombies were too easy. I found myself just sitting back and shooting them. I also was a good bit frustrated with a few of your jumps, as they really tested my Sackboy's thigh strength. Looked great, as always, and was a decent challenge. | 2010-03-02 23:05:00 Author: SnEaK-Tc Posts: 52 |
I played this a bit yesterday, but it's very unclear where to go and I got lost. Also, the scenery is very haphazard, even for a scrapyard(I'd tidy it up a bit, not the platforms etc., but the firey cars, crates and MM real life objects scattered randomly, also, don't use the MM object car heap, your custom cars are better). Also, I'd tidy up the zombies a bit. What I'd do is delete the bomb on it's head, duplicate it's head but make it a thin layer and past it infront of the original thick layer head, then embed a trigger explosive in it's head. Also, when you kill the zombie and it explodes, make the brain trigger as well so there's no messy exploded parts left around. Also, can you make the wheels on the steamroller a little smaller? it's quite hard to jump back onto it if you fall off. Also, i'd maybe vary the ground a bit, instead of just metal. have you tried the brown sponge from the monster pack? Good job besides though, love your art style | 2010-03-04 12:24:00 Author: Unknown User |
That was a little much.. I thought the bomb on the zombies was great, gave them a little uber-demented look, no need to hide it. And the chaotic pieces everywhere made the level. It's that crazy layout that added more to the somewhat simple gameplay, things in front and behind you makes just running and jumping more enjoyable. It's weird that you'd ask him to take decoartions out of the level. | 2010-03-04 16:52:00 Author: SnEaK-Tc Posts: 52 |
I'll definitely give it a look. I like your stuff. | 2010-03-04 18:27:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
Back to give yo my thoughts: Great level! I never seen a zombie shooter so fun! The fact that's it's mainly gameplay driven just keeps me happy. -Very original gameplay elements. I found myself thinking: "Cool, looks like a new section mm would make". Thought the see-saw car with the spinning switches was really cool. -Visuals were wonderful. It felt like a dark Metropolis level, with more detail. Suited the level perfectly. My only problem was with a section near the end. There was a car moving on a winch and a sponge thing for you to grab that took you up further. The jump from the car to the sponge was near impossible. It took me about 5 minutes to do a 5 seconds section. Anyways, I thought the level was brilliant and deserving of a heart and 5 stars. Good job. | 2010-03-05 19:20:00 Author: KQuinn94Z Posts: 1758 |
Thanks for the feedback PaddyJ, I just updated last night....you should see a lot of your suggestions realized. Thanks. Ya, Killzone that last jump might need some tweaking, I'll pad out a little more time. I wanted it challenging cause it's the last obstacle in the level, but I don't want people to be frustrated and quit when they are so close to finishing. Thanks for the plays gang. Peace. In other news. (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-debut-socom-4/62664) | 2010-03-05 22:15:00 Author: thekillermiller Posts: 38 |
Had a few issues that were causing the level to break. Should all be good now. Freakin temp gauge is maxed, so doing anything is just a nightmare. | 2010-03-06 17:09:00 Author: thekillermiller Posts: 38 |

This was a pretty good level. It looked awesome, and had some really original design that I hadn't seen anything like it before. I really liked the part with the rocking platform where you had to turn the key switches to drop that that giant thing to continue. Overall, a pretty great level. It looks fantastic. The one part that really frustrated me, though, was the part right before the end with the giant swingy thing with two grabbable circles hanging from it. I think it should have a longer rest time. The zombie enemies were funny and this was just a really great level. I gave it five stars. | 2010-03-20 22:35:00 Author: qrtda235566 Posts: 3664 |
