The Unofficial Level Acing Thread!

Archive: 36 posts

I made this thread so people can discuss the tramatizing event of acing all levels. I myself have 3 levels left (Frying Saucers, Sewn Identity and Opening Fright) I'm struggling at defeating the alien boss in Frying Saucers without dying. And because its late in the level its tiresome to replay the level over and over again!

EDIT: Just beaten Opening Fright!

Ugh. I still haven't even found everything. I still need to 100% Thieves Den, the balloon arctic level, and the two main levels in The Carnival. Then, I just need to ace the same levels as you.

At some point I'm just gonna track down a story mode 100% and Aced Save. Yes, I'm lazy.

Same, I never thought I would do it.

And one time, when I almost did it, I was somehow killed in the CAR section!

But oh well, all over now.

I had the most trouble with the Sewn Identity I think. Frying Saucers was also a pain... After about a dozen tries I somehow forgot how to platform across the spinning saucer section and just couldn't get past it to save my life. I Race Dead People was also kind of a pain, but not as bad.2010-03-03 06:35:00

All I need is rugs and kisses, thieve's den, and sewn identity. Just need to ace them.2010-03-03 08:14:00

I suck at acing. I still need to do some in the Middle East, most in Europe and all in North America. 2010-03-03 11:51:00

Someone should upload their saved story mode file.
If someone makes story mode saves really available, it might even cut down on some problems with those who make levels before completing... namely, Glockenpop.

There's no excuse for using Glockenpop (except that you really like it), as you can get a lot of music without being a wiz at platform games. I don't like getting my 100% aced from somebody else's profile. That's something they did better on the PS3 version; acing only wins you costumes there, so you're not limited in your level creation.

Edit: now I've got Glockenpop stuck in my head. Thanks.

I still need to get 100% on some, I've aced the ones that I have 100% though. So... better get cracking. Once my PSP is fixed, anyway. (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=23287-My-PSP-keeps-shutting-down)2010-03-05 13:20:00

Well, I did it. I now have 100% and Aced levels. However, all my My Moon levels are lost forever. I'm not upset that I lost them, I just hadn't planned to. So be warned: This may be the price of laziness. I beseech anyone considering this to weigh the benefits with the losses.

As you might guess, my next level will be quite some time in the making now. But I shall work my heart out.

WARNING: APPARENTLY THEY WEREN'T EVEN ALL ACED. DO NOT USE THE ABOVE FILE.

Now that I've lost my My Moon Levels anyways, I'll keep searching.

Did you overwrite the entire folder or did you drag-and-drop the save files into your existing folder?

In the case of option #1, you are hosed. If you used option #2, you can recover your level(s).

Sounds like I'm hosed, cause I just lazily told WinRar to overwrite every matching file.

Anyways, since I'm a lost cause, I hereby devote myself to hunting down an 100% Save, and writing a guide for what NOT to overwrite when installing.
Hopefully one save fail will be enough to save some other lazies.

Well, it still may be possible that you have some of your old files. Browse to your UCUS98744 folder and change your folder view to "details", then sort by "last modified". If you have files that are dated prior to your installation of the save file you downloaded, then you haven't lost everything.

With regards to the specific file(s) that indicate what you aced and what you didn't, I'm afraid it isn't as easy as that. Things like your scores, items collected, and level aced status are all coded into a single file or series of files. I don't think you can say file "xyz" equals "Tinsel Town" - it's all embedded code.

Those first three should be it. Please upload them?
Also, if we can figure out which ones are costumes, there's something interesting in that first save I uploaded. It has some strange costumes including a tank waist and a car waist. Curious.

The costumes file is called MYCST, although I forget what the extension is though. I don't think the file alone will work however, as you I messed with that quite a bit when trying to recover my profile months ago. Generally speaking you need the associated FECONFIG.BIN that will point to the costumes as well.

I think I have helped drag this thread way off-topic though, so we can continue this discussion via profile or private messages and give everyone back their acing thread.

I Race Dead People was hard, I don't care what anybody says!

Okay, but Fastbro or someone should upload those three files, so my awful noobacy won't have been in vain.
Anyone who can upload those three files aced and 100%, please do so.

Has anyone else struggled on the rug level? I found it incredibly hard to avoid the fireballs!

Amazingly, I thought that would be impossible, but I somehow made it on the second try, I just sped through, then jumped over the one fireball that landed on the carpet.2010-03-11 20:30:00

I have trouble there, too. I'm not too concerned about acing, but I wanted to get all middle-eastern themed building materials for this level I'm working on. I've tried many times, but I haven't been able to navigate my carpet through unscathed. 2010-03-12 10:12:00

I haven't quite aced every level yet, when I aced High on Rugs I was so pleased with myself I lost all ambition. I did it for the sword. It wasn't worth it. I think the horror themed optional level in tinsel town was harder though... those vampires...2010-03-12 10:42:00

I hate those vampires, but I finally found that clove of garlic and aced the level. I was so proud of myself. For me I just need one aced level to go, but..I forgot which was it. I was just playing LBP right now, but I played a level with corrupted data. I hate restarting

I have just one level left to ace: The Sewn Identity. After that I'll be doing some experiments on replacing your story mode and getting all materials, without losing anything else. Once I figure it out, I'll post a guide, and all the lazies of LBP PSP can finally get everything the easy way.2010-03-17 21:37:00
