Error 8001050F: The Apocalyps3 Is Now Officially Over

Archive: 2 posts

I know there's huge threads on this, but they've been locked. So seeing that's there's no other way to tell the community about the said "Apocalyps3", I thought I make this thread.

Sony has officially stated that the bug has been removed (by itself). Here's a statement from them:

We are aware that the internal clock functionality in the PS3 units other than the slim model, recognized the year 2010 as a leap year. Having the internal clock date change from February 29 to March 1 (both GMT), we have verified that the symptoms are now resolved and that users are able to use their PS3 normally.

If the time displayed on the XMB is still incorrect, users are able to adjust time settings manually or via the internet. If we have new information, we will update you through the PlayStation.Blog or PlayStation.com.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

So it's now safe to come out of your shelters and play online again. And yes, some of you think that Sony is taking credit for something that they never did. I'm also one those people (kind of). So with that said, post your reliefs here. If mods have to lock this for any reason, then feel free to. I'm just glad it's "officially" over.

Peace

Not much more to say, really. I'm gonna go ahead and close this one too before it gets spammy. Thanks for posting, though. Hopefully people can figure it out now.
