I was wondering, if you lock a level, does the 7-day limit it has on cool pages still decrease? I wanted to know, because I was playing a really hard but amazing level, which probably wasn't very friendly to most LBP players(casual and kid) but it had kept a 5 star rating. I know the guy could've got his friends to rate it high, but I dunno.

The seven-day limit should still hold with locked levels, but it has nothing to do with the star rating. The high rating may only be because the locked level is available to certain people who appreciate the challenge and therefore rate the level highly.

So it not rated down?

Quite possibly, but they would have to find people to give keys to who would play that level enough - if the level sat locked for 7 days and there weren't any accomplices to play it, no-one COULD play it, so eventually it would move down to its proper place - rock bottom. If the publisher doesn't have anyone to play it lots and rate highly, it isn't a very good tactic.

Yes it does. The logicpack levels did this in an attempt to not grab a stranglehold on cool pages. Ironically, it just meant we got a stranglehold on the highest rated pages instead. At the end of the day, who cares what rating you can get. TBH, these days, having 5 stars is normally an indication that you've done exactly what was described in the OP, so the only difference between a 5 star level and a 4 star level is often how hung up on ratings the creator was

I think that's why the logic pack levels have such good rep, because they weren't published straight onto cool pages and when finally unlocked they were advertised to their "target market" if you will. It's probably why they also have such good rep, as they haven't ever been directly compared to bomb and shark survivals on the cool pages.
