backing up

Archive: 7 posts

hey

I just recently got a 250gb hdd for my ps3.
So i need to back up some things

what things will be saved in the profile back up of lbp? only my own custom stickers objects and community objects/stickers?

since i can not back up my entire ps3's content on my external hdd (it is ntfs, and i do not want to convert it to fat 32.) i will do it to a flash drive.
But can I back up the updates of lbp and the dlc ? on this flash drive or do need to redownload them?

That's exactly what I would like to know, as I'm having problem with my PS3!
Dexist, hope you don't mind

When you save your LBP profile on a USB drive,
what exactly do you get back when you copy it on a new PS3 :

- Your progresion in the the story mode, and all the items you've collected? Yes?/No?
- Your levels created on the moon? Yes?/No?
- Your custom stickers? Yes?/No?
- You custom objects? Yes?/No?
- You custom costumes? Yes?/No?
- Community objects or stickers you collected? Yes?/No?

DLCs must be redownloaded from the store, from what I heard, but does your saved LPB profile includes :

- Your progression in the DLC levels (POTC/MGS) and the items you've collected Yes?/No?

Thanks!

Yes.. what he said, including custom stickers as well as community things you have gathered

It also saves your current costume, current pod, and pod saves. Though you will still need to reload your DLC if moving to a new machine. I think I would do that before going into LBP just so it isn't confused.

Thanks very much Syroc!
Did you already experienced it? If you're sure about that, then I don't need to worry any more!

Yes sure!
I was thinking what would happen if you load a created level on the moon that contains DLC items that are not yet reloaded from the store... it will surely mess up everything

Yes, once. And several times when copying it to the beta.

Most welcome!

Yeah... one of those details I wouldn't experiment with. It would probably be ok if you did it later, but I wouldn't want to risk it since LBP can be a bit 'touchy' at times.

Good luck!
