When we were very young we all used to think really stupid things. For example the most common one is when you used to think teachers lived at school. What I want you to do is post them here. I'll start with a few.... When I was little i used to think that anyone who works at a shop or anywhere like that was a robot And my friends sister once thought women give birth through there mouth D: Now it's your go.

Ha ha, yeah, Wallace and Gromit probably helped create that in young minds. And also The Clangers. But then it gets really confusing as a kid cos in Button Moon it's made out of a giant button... and is really creepy with folks visiting in ships made out of bean tins and they have wooden spoons for arms !!! As a child I had moon identity crisis and now I know it's just a rock trapped in orbit...what a disappointed. For those who haven't heard of the kids shows The Clangers or Button Moon, try youtube-ing them. Very very strange.

I used to think if you went behind the till at a shop (like a highstreet one of something, not a supermarket), it was really slippy, and you'd continuously fall over. Not sure how the employees got behind there.

A couple of examples: I used to think 'half an hour' as in 30 minutes was 'half a nour'. Also whenever we saw an aeroplane I always thought it was a 'naeroplane'.

When I was young I use to think school camps invovled sleeping over at the actual school. I also had a dream about googgaly eyes and then thought they actually existed (noun goo-ga-ly eye: A large floating eyeball slightly bigger than a basketball with a big vein like thing coming out of the back of it which follows you at night) they really creeped me out. I also use to think that fireworks were stars exploding and that storm water drains in gutters would suck you in if you got too close.

I actually really enjoyed imagining Louis Armstrong stepping out of the lem onto the moon's surface to make some astro-jazz history. I don't remember a whole lot of this sort of stuff myself. I remember a friend told me about how he thought the moon and sun followed him around - and just him. When the family would drive in the car, he'd ask about why the moon was ONLY following THEIR car. Michel Gondry has a story about how, as a kid in a city, he thought that most of the earth was made of concrete and asphalt, all the way to the core, and that it was just little patches here and there of dirt and plants - not the other way around. Another friend of mine has a story about how he stuffed a grilled cheese sandwich into a VCR to see what would come on tv. I think children might be geniuses in a weird way. We should listen to them more. We should definitely not push aside the questions that we might regard as stupid. You ever overhear parents doing that? A kid might question something that doesn't have a one-word answer, perhaps even something profound about planets and existence and god, and the parent will just disregard the question, dismissing it as a useless question. ESPECIALLY if they themselves don't have the answer. Next time I see a parent doing that, I'm just going to beat their kids up and RUN.

Oh, yeah! I forgot about POKEMON CARDS! When I was little, those were the WORLD to me. I would play Pokemon cards (and later games) with my neighbors, Rayna and Kristen, and we would OBSESS OVER POKEMON. I had the feeling back then that everyone cared about Pokemon and knew what it was, and was surprised when people didn't know what it was.

I had the toy thing too - I'd feel bad if I didn't play with one Thomas the Train Engine over another one, for example. I always felt I was being watched from the woods around my house, and it made me really uncomfortable. It still does. I had a friend over last night, and she even said she didn't feel comfortable. lol.
