ffha's Key Room

ffha's Key Roomffha
Just a small collection of the stuff I have published so far.
Key Room
A room in which the keys to my levels are stored.
You have to play this level in order to gain access to my other work (reason explained in the level itself).
I had to reset all of my levels and have lost all plays and hearts, but I prefer quality over quantity.

The room.

The logic behind it.

Survive the h4h-attack!
A basic, but addictive survival level. No, it's not about bombs. It's about... Well, just read the title.
The difficulty increases naturally over time, but the level features a brutal, but rewarding, Hard Mode.
The reward? Double points.

Start of the level. Pulling the ring activates the level and grabbing the triangle shows you a small part of the logic used in this level.

The logic used in this level, but with visible wires (which don't show up in Play Mode).

The changes I have made to it since the last update:
-Visual update for Hard Mode. Now with the suggested 'red glow' on the hearts.
-Scoring system revamped (had to reset highscores for this).
-Cleaned up and updated the logic work.
-Fixed the checkpoint and cleared the singleplayer lock. The level now allows for multiplayer-games.

Odin-Public p.o.c.
My first level in LBP. Made the main structure before I knew about Grid Mode, so it's a little messy.
It's a semi-automated Claw Machine, which is unusual and rare to encounter in the world of LBP, where all other Claw Machines have direct-control interfaces.

I am no longer supporting or updating this level.
If I do decide to implent it in something, I will re-create the entire thing, but don't count on it.

The layout.

Pretty good for a first attempt, hmm? It's cool to the eyes in action (I might make it copyable).

Two grab switches are all that are needed to control the entire machine.

Shuriken Practice p.o.c.
Another p.o.c. level. The concept may be old, but I'm probably going to expand this technique in a real level.
I have already created a working charge-concept which allows you to change the trajectory of the shuriken dependent on how long you hold R1 before releasing it, but I have not implented it in this p.o.c. yet.

Design of the level.

Other info.
These are all small things, but I'm currently creating two fully-fledged levels.
One of which is a solo project, the other is an ongoing project with a Canadian friend of mine.
I can't post screenshots of the Dutch/Canadian project, 'cause the level is saved on his account, but I can show you this:

Search for my PSN 'ffha' or the level title 'Key Room' to gain access to my levels. All others are locked, but the keys to them can be found in 'Key Room'.

Enjoy.

PS: I participate in F4F, but not H4H.

So how are we supposed to comment on this level? I assume you want us to make comments on the levels you get the keys to?2010-02-26 03:12:00

Of course. How else?
I guess you can use Key Room as a general opinion-box, as I really don't care about that level's ratings/comments, but all the usual stuff should be posted at the level-specific commentary, don't you think?

I always appreciate feedback. Even if it's negative (with constructive criticism).

Thanks a lot for the feedback on my level. I checked out your work just now.
Honestly, you've only got one level, the survival challenge, and three ideas. And well, the three idea-levels are interesting, but I'd like to see them implemented well (the car, not so much, but definitely the shuriken). The H4H Survival level is well put together and I enjoyed it the few times I played it, but as far as I could tell, it doesn't get any more intense than how it starts, unless you activate hard mode.
I gave the survival challenge four stars and the rest three. Looking at the mechanisms involved in the H4H survival, it looks like you've got level-creation pretty well, but I suppose I can't really make a good judgement until I've seen a full level, two of which you're working on. I'll keep an eye out for them.
