Beware of YouTube Account Hackers!

Archive: 21 posts

A scam has arisen in YouTube, and this is nothing but a sure fired account stealing nightmare!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W9b15XiF1s

According to the video, the scam is made by hackers. The hackers made a false YouTube website that tricks people into thinking it's the real thing. The users accidentally type in their password and username in the false website's sign-in boxes. Once that happens, the hackers steal the account and distribute porn on it. So the scam isn't for fun, it's serious, because it's the scam is to promote the hackers' business.

I know some people have accounts here, so I advise you to not use Tiny URL links. The scam is done by leaving the user a false message and false link. Here's an example I made:

"Love your videos! I never knew you would become this famous. I'm a huge fan of your videos, and look, I even found an article about you here!

[Link]

Hope you you like, I know I did. ; )

Bye!"

The hackers target the most channel viewed user accounts, so be careful. Even though the scam is off (thanks YouTube!), there's still hacker's who use this method now. So with that said, have a nice day.

Peace

Sorry, but only fools, children and people with little knowledge of today's technologies (generally the older generation) fall for this kind of scam.
Also, this isn't a 'hacker'. A 'hacker' hijacks other systems to copy, alter or spread data.

The internet sucks. The people who use it suck.

It's easy to stay clear from these kind of threats, though. Be smart. Play safe. Don't trust anything.

Maybe it was a glitch. Or, you might have deleted it by accident when you were editing it. I don't know, ask CC, he'll no why your account is CURSED (with vanishing post and small pictures)!

Honestly, who gives a crap?
The people who's accounts are being targeted for distributing porn. The user's reputation is at stake, so it's a really big deal with users.

Well said, but sometimes people will decieve the users to falling for it. Like say the hackers got your friends account, then use the account to PM you. Of course you're going to believe what your friend says, so you can easily fall victim like that.

Oh, and they are hackers. Hackers defined as people who break into computers and have administrative control, and often do this for criminal reasons. These people "broke" in people accounts and distributed porn on YouTube, a criminal action.

it has to be difficult to log on to one of these fake websites though.

The websites look exactly like YouTube, and the video demonstrates that in has links like YouTube. It's not too hard for one to fall for this false identity YouTube.

Please thank YouTube people. They did this all in one day!

How would they "get it down."?

They contacted the TinyURL company to take down the link the hackers made. Then they contacted the web hosting website that was currently hosting the false YouTube website and told them to take it down as well.

Yeck, a phishing haven if you ask me. But I personally don't like to go phishing. I prefer surfing instead.

Did you see what I did there?
