2-player level in need of failsafe logic - help, please!

I'm designing a two-player level in which the two players are kept apart by a system of respawn pads. What should happen is:

1. If one player dies the other one grabs their respawn pad to allow their friend to respawn.
2. The checkpoint responsible for this respawn extends when the respawn pad is grabbed, activated by mag switches.
3. This checkpoint retracts when the respawn pad is released, and deactivates (another checkpoint is activated). This should make it impossible for the grabber to pop and appear in the other path.
4. If both players pop themselves they spawn out the previously mentioned checkpoint and are plonked back at the start.

This system works fine when two players are playing the level, but if three or more players play it then something goes wrong. If anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it.

Does the 'you have lost all your lives choose replay or return to pod' box come up?

What happens with three players is that one of the respawn checkpoints on occasion remains active, so popping makes the player respawn in the wrong path - and therefore makes the level uncompletable.2010-02-25 08:39:00

Do you have any proximity sensors set to require any that should be require all, or vice versa? It's the only thing I can think of right now.2010-02-25 11:48:00

No, they shouldn't be necessary, as everything is done by grabbing ... it's a bit of a complicated problem to post on here really as I can't explain it that well. I'll have a fiddle around with the sensors, see if I can incorporate a failsafe somewho 2010-02-25 22:54:00

how about this, make the block with the magnetic key that activates the switch acativating the checkpoint out of dissovle material, after each stage, the dissolve is activated so that its impossible for a 3rd player to go back and activated it.2010-02-25 23:11:00
