Tenchu Sack

Tenchu SackFumo161
Inspired by the game Tenchu Z for XBOX 360.
One of my favorite levels.
If this level satisfies, I would attempt to create a big story chain of Tenchu Sack levels, each with a different objective and other cool things with notable references from the game.

Please tell me what you think. I will do the same for you just tell me your PSN and what the name of your level is. I will give you my review by commenting your level and either replying about your level on this thread or one that you specify.

I really look forward to your thoughts.

I am determined to be noticed on LBP. With 20 levels published and sequels/improvements in progress, I will find a way to be noticed. I am not going to be a H4H tard like the noobs that beg and grub for anything they can get their hands on.

I'll look at it this weekend. It sounds cool.
I'd like to ask you to play my Battle on Mars level, but you don't have to do it right away since I can't play PS3 until the weekend.

Even though I'm not a fan of the xbox version of Tenchu, I thought this level was excellent. The level design was well crafted to simulate Tenchu. The lighting was great too. The one thing that irked me was the grapple hook. It needed some tweaking so that the player could retry if he/she falls. In all I rated this level 4/5 stars.2010-02-24 05:00:00

Got to play earlier than expected.
I liked it. Killing everyone was satisfying.
My criticisms are
1, there's seemingly no way to get back up after killing the first guard, so it's better to just skip him, kill the others and come back for him.
2, the part where you're supposed to go behind the grass, I just ran on top of it in plain site not knowing that I could go behind. Maybe you should add an extra layer of gas or something to prevent that.
3, umm, this might have just been me, but before the last guy, there was this strip of ground that I grabbed onto and it dissolved. I was finding getting over the railing difficult, so I thought I should go down there. Killed me and put me on my last life. What was this? Because if it was a trap it didn't seem to work right.

Gave it five stars. Needs more plays.
Definitely make another one. This one was short and I wanted more.

Well did you look around? I mean besides the gate, what else was there?
I believe I saw a rope that lead to atop the gate.

Hiya. We thought the samaurai was well made, but the grabbable broke and we couldnt get round behind him. Perhaps lower the strength of the winch. adi2010-02-25 21:51:00

...
I love you.

I'll play this level tomorrow. Probably all other 19, too.

Edit: I somehow have the feeling I've seen your username before... Maybe in one of my levels?
Either way, I've played the level. Loved it.
It's simple, but well-made and fun to play. Too short, though.
I suggest improving the visuals, adding more parts and adding more checkpoints.
The roof-jumping, guard-killing and sneaking stuff are great. Moar!
5 Stars.

Cool level.

Pro:
-The castle was great to look at, very clever use of the 3D glitch.
-The stealth action worked nicely, with the thumping sounds and the text balloons of the samurai.
-Very cool designed samurai & cool prizes.
-It's always nice to see Sackboy running along a rope like a tightropewalker. (How do you create this? Very thin layer of material?)

Con:
-The level is rather short. You're just getting the hang of the mechanics, and then you reach the scoreboard already.

F4F: It would be great if you could take a look at one of my two levels, and give me some feedback.

Awesome level and design. Nice use of layer glitch! It was very good, just a bit short. I've also bought Tenchu for PSP today. It is very good. But couldn't you make it longer, or are you planning a sequel?

Can you play my Fruits - A Race between Continents, and maybe comment on it in my level showcase. You can find it under my creations.

Told you I play :-P it was good.

Pro's
well designed characters
Nice dialog
interesting use of the rope and 3d glitch

con's
TOOOOO SHORT
the building design seems lacking compared to the characters

personal dislike: I did not like the loud footstep sound effects when you land on the roof.... your suppose to be a silent ninja not a clumsy fool it just killed the stealth feel.

all in all its good just could use some more work is all but I liked the idea keep it up ^^

I was planning on making multiple levels and a story line of missions but I just wanted to try this first.
I don't want to spend hours on somthing that sucks.

You achieved atmosphere really well with this level, especially with how short it was. The subtle sound effects as you snuck up on an enemy and assassinated him were very nice, the low key music, simplistic design, and occasional text were all nice touches. I think a bigger project with the same theme would be awesome (which is what your "sequels/improvements" probably add up to).
In short, it was a cool, simple level, and I'd definitely play more with similar themes.

F4F: If you've got the time, could you play through my level (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=20362-The-Gauntlet!)?
Just let me know what you think in the level thread. Thanks.
