are you a sore loser?

Archive: 23 posts

title says all, do you hate losing in games or not? if so, which games mostly?
for me, I don't. I play games to escape all the annoying things in this world, and I **** people off myself and it's so much fun in some games.

I tend to simply avoid losing, so this is rarely an issue for me 2010-02-23 21:58:00

I guess I'll be the courageous one. Yes I admit it, I can be a real sore loser. One of the main reasons you don't see me on any other online games (and is a huge determining factor for me if I should get Modnation Racers, which is why I'm still undecided on it), Its like I'm Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde . I'd rather not bother with an online portion of a game if it causes rage and possibly hurting other's feelings, It can be just as bad on difficult games, or even versing the AI, especially if there's a loss record. (also why I don't use Mics, On rare occaistions when I had a bad day, I can sometimes even get upset from a simple death on LBP)

Usually if there was no loss or disconect record, I'd either leave or turn off the system when the game was almost over.

I stopped playing MW2 after four days because I couldn't stand getting my $%# kicked in multiplayer over and over again. I'm not really a sore loser but I can't have fun from losing.2010-02-23 22:26:00

Long answer: Depends on the kind of event in which I'm losing and how much there would be to gain by winning
Short answer: At times.

I don't really become a sore loser at single player modes, but in any multiplayer games I do. Whenever I get killed or lose a race, I get somewhat angry at the the people on the other team. When I get killed (in a video game), I usually sneak up behind the person and severly kill them (RPG, close-range snipe, combat knife to the head, etc.) and then put C4 all over their body, blow it up, and watch the body fly. Sorry about the violence and carnage, but that's basically what I do to people online.2010-02-23 23:11:00

NOT ME! I'm more than okay with losing! It's all about playing the game and having a little fun.

For example, in monopoly, my friend landed on my utility on an 11 roll and rolled again to determine how much he owed. I told him that you don't roll again, because that's the rules, but no, he rolled again even after I tried really hard to stop him. I don't remember what he ended up rolling, but it was considerably less than 11, and also one of the corners of the dice got me in the cornea. Hahaha, that's Monopoly for you. Yeah, games are fun like that. I haven't played monopoly since, mostly because I wasn't able to tape the board back together, it was in so many pieces. Also I burned most of the money or something. But you know, we had some fun, and we settled out of court from the assault charges and stuff, so live and let live.

I'll give you another example. I was playing Risk with some people and I ended up with just crap to start with, and plus my rolls were garbage. I know how to play the odds, but it was just crap rolls, right? So I started throwing darts at the wall to kill time between my turns, and so what if I was talking to myself while I threw the darts around, I'm not interfering with people's Risk turns! But my friends just couldn't help but poke fun at me. "Dude, what the hell, you almost hit me with that dart! Knock it off!", and "Quit screaming for god's sake, just leave if you don't want to play the stupid game, don't be such a baby about it!", and "people like you just ruin a perfectly good game for everyone else, screw this, it's not even worth it," that kind of stuff. Just my buddies ribbing me, you know how it is, having a good time. Yeah, we had some fun. one of those guys I never saw again, it's kind of funny, it turned out there was a restraining order taken out or something silly like that. I don't know why, it's not like I stole his dart like he did to me. Just because it's embedded in your shoulder doesn't mean you can just HAVE it.

Anyway. So, in conclusion, i really don't know why people are sore losers, it's just a game, have some fun with it like I do.

Holy crap Teebs - who put a roll of Toonies into your funny machine? You are in good form the past couple days!

Thanks for the belly laugh!

EDIT: Oh, and yeah... I hate to lose. Some days I handle with more tact and control than others.

Not a 'sore' looser, I just beat up everyone in the vicinity and deny loosing, I also bribe the media with large sums of money.2010-02-25 06:51:00

I never really care about winning or losing, i usually just accept that i'd lose at most games xD

If it's a cheap loss though i'll get annoyed.

In most games it isn't an issue. However, in Multiplayer, if someone kills me using cheap tactics (Repeated camping, spawn killing, team killing etc) i'll go complete apes**t.2010-02-25 09:27:00

I don't care, so as long everybody's happy at the end.

But I hate those braggers. God, they think they're the best for only winning 1 game of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I mean come on, I know they did a good job, but rubbing it in for just winning a first person shooter game is no reason to do it. If they want to impress me, then join the military, win an actual battle, THEN rub it in my face.

I really like to win, I go to extraordinary but fair lengths to win, but I can take a loss and do really enjoy losing to someone who put up an amazing fight.

What ****** me off are the ub3r l33t people with bigger egos than Paris Hilton. Those people who will shove every point in everyone's face, but if someone scores against them, they'll whine and whine for hours.

I get very annoyed at people who use cheap tactics to win. Spawn camping or whoring cheap weapons, etc.

Just thought, does anyone here actually enjoy losing?

Personally i find winning all the time extremely boring, it's like playing the game on easy mode and being told to brag about it. I think it's more fun to lose all the time and get closer to winning each time.

Ha ha, sore loser. I can definitely say no, seeing as i hardly ever win at anything.

That said if I ever DID win any games i played online i would probably be a horrible little...uhm...child born out of wedlock..........about it. Probably.

The world may never know.

Actually I kind of share that. I do get really bored winning too much or too fiercely in games. There's no challenge to me and I feel like a jerk to the other people. People I keep losing to, I keep coming back for more and the more I lose the more I want to best them eventually :O

its extremely fun to kinda sit back in some types of games and then at the last few seconds you and your team zerg them as well. Not wholly effective, sure. but lulls ensue.2010-02-26 15:47:00
