(it looks a more atmospheric actually in game)
A techno-futuristic level, see part 1 (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=21525-Broken-Dreams-Part-1-Basic-Training) for a story line.

Yes, it's kind of short, but what can you expect? I spent almost a month on it!

Very cool level. I liked it even better than part 1. The challenges are diverse and short.

The paintanator with limited shots adds unusual gameplay.

The platforming section (where you have to shoot the white platform beneath you) is a bit tough. Manageable, but noticably more difficult than the other sections.

The shooting section at the end is very entertaining.

The atmosphere in your level builds up to the next section, a bit of a 12 Monkeys-vibe. I'm rather interested to start and explore your ruined dreamscape landschape.
Good stuff.

It would be great if you could take a look at my second level, and give me some feedback.
Thread of my second level, Desperados of Tupelo Town, is here:

I've not played Part 1 of this, but from Part 2, I may have to check it out.
There are definitely some interesting ideas in this, and the limited shots in the Paintinator make it just a bit more challenging. Like the poster above said, the section where you have to shoot the platform beneath you is definitely tougher than the rest of the level.
Also, it isn't always obvious what a lever does when you pull it. There were a few in the level whose purpose I'm still not sure of, but I pulled them anyway. I don't know if that's deliberate or not, though.
I enjoyed the last shooting/puzzle area.

If you've got the time (it's a long level) could you play through my level?
It's called "The Gauntlet!" No gimmicks. Just really difficult.

Great to hear you guys like it!

About the part where you shoot the platform under you: it's a lot easier if you go past it then shoot it first, i'll have to add some way to clue the player into that.
I'll also add cutscenes so players know what happened when they flip switches (AFAIK, only two were put in, but i could be remembering wrong), thanks!

Part 1 was my first creation, and as such the style is still a little lacking. I'll be redoing it for my next task, but you guys are welcome to play it again!

I'll also play those levels soon, they sound interesting

Edit: published an update with some changes, among which are:
* added cutscenes for some of the switches (thanks to pickled-punk for that)
* Tweaked several other minor things
* Replaced the bouncy platforms section with another one which i think is nicer

Great level. It was pretty challenging at times, and it had great gameplay. It's a big step up from the part 1. And I can see that you will also update the first part. I will definitely play your part 3. Have you begun working on it?2010-02-27 11:46:00

RCIX, sorry it took so long, but here goes...

Big step up from part one i must say. Better visuals and solid gameplay.

However, I do wish the some of the guns had more ammo...i caught myself running back to checkpoints in certain areas just to have enough. Also, with the style you have going, I would think that you would want all of your elevator logic would be invisible...but that's just me. The elevator in the area where you much shoot down the three platforms and then destroy the guns to advance would be better if it were a bit taller so sackboy could fit.

All together this is a huge improvement from your first, and i'm looking forward to seeing what your idea of the outside world is.

4 Stars and a Fun tag...Thanks!

hey RCIX,

Nice level! It was a really fun and challenging platformer. I enjoyed the section where you had to turn off the gas with the paintinator the most. The lighting was also really nice. It kept things ambient and interesting throughout.

I thought that the paintinator's could use a couple more rounds of ammo, as there were enemies with more health than paintinator bullets, and you had to go back and get a new gun to finish them off. Besides that it was really fun! Thanks!

Ok, sounds good, i'll add a couple of rounds to most of the paintinators. Also, i cut the ceiling from the lift so now it's just the one platform.

I will definitely play your part 3. Have you begun working on it?
I'm going to finish part 1 first but i already got a few ideas for stuff to put in it!

It's a training level, as the first. Personally, I think they should be blended together. But that's just my POV.

Definitely better visuals than 1 but I'd advise using the embossed cardboard as well to make a more varied. The challenges are pretty original and not too chalenging. I like where you're going, but please put more story into part 3
Limited-shots paintinator is a trick not used very often and often not done correctly, but I think it was done exceptionally well here. That's a hard thing to do, even for the most experienced.

Hope that was not too short. My level can be found in the sig.
