glitched conveyor belt block

Archive: 20 posts

Alright, i have discovered a new glitch that causes a certain platform to vibrate very quickly and very slightly. this causes the sackboy to travel backwards without the touch of a button, like on a conveyor belt. this happened when I connected a platform to a string and a loose bolt, then tightened the string.this would be very difficult to recreate however. i will upload pics asap. sorry to start this thread without pics or anything but i just wanted to share it with the community as soon as i could and sorry if this is in the wrong forum and so on, but i couldnt find a better one to put this on. as i said pics soon.

oh and also, if you jump while on the platform your jump height is considerably increased.. this may be an asset to several creators,

i have had similar outcomes like this. i think it generally occurs when you have forces ie. pistons, strings, bolts, etc... contradict themselves. ex: having a wobble bolt with a string holding it back. this sort of thing was actually a source of great grief when i was first developing my improved tank suspension.2010-02-22 23:08:00

yes its quite alot like the bounce pads there, i guess i just found the glitch in a new form
i suppose it was a little grief when i found this, but its ideal as i was only making a simple railing platform that collapses so i could simply copy the item and fix it. i found it while making my new, half life 2 inspired puzzle level called cardboard city, its not out yet. also i dont quite know how to capture photos that show exactly what it does so i may just video it real quick. it also works uphill too btw

What that makes you slowly walk to one side and slightly increases jump height, I don't have any levels but its made of rods...2010-02-23 16:50:00

It does sound like the platforms crisofilax (sp?) engineered quite a while ago in his level "odd gravity". If you search for that you'll find them, he gave the platforms away as acing prizes, and several people have published levels with them using similar titles (odd gravity 2, etc).2010-02-23 19:12:00
