Lost in Space 2

Archive: 13 posts

Hey people, I've been away from LBP for a while now but i've come back with a sequel called Lost in Space 2.
It's a platformer based around mechanisms, contraptions and switch's. There is a 2 player section and a unique boss battle. A little different than another bomb survival. Mediam to hardish difficulty. This is the fifth and final version.

I really enjoyed this level. I liked your first one too and this one really feels like a nice continuation of what was good in the first one. Liked the palette you chose and the understated geometry is nice. Good platforming sections and really clever layer use too. More people should check this one out. It's fun 2010-02-25 03:51:00

Very nice like the first one. The only problem I had was the boss fight when you need to use the jump pads they just would not work for me and I died a million times >.<2010-02-25 07:32:00

great level, but unfortunately we got stuck on the series of wheels which you climb between (after the end race gates). One of the wheels (It appeared to be the last one but we couldn't see beyond it) jolted and then got stuck, and we couldn't progress any further.2010-02-25 20:46:00

Very good level. I liked it even better than Lost in Space 1.

Great platforming, mixed in with some fun little puzzles. (I especially liked the puzzle where you need to move two wooden cilnders via the gondola.)

My only gripe is that perhaps everything was too clearly marked. (Push R2 etc.) While it makes for good speed, I kinda like it when you need to explore and try out stuff to continue on your way. Likewise, puzzles could have been just a little more difficult. On the other hand: your level does have a great flow, never a dull moment from beginning to end.

The race segment is great & hectic; platforming on a treadmill.
The boss fight was fantastic, the mix of shooting and jumping. Not to easy, not to hard.

Great stuff!

It would be great if you could take a look at one of my two levels, and give me some feedback.

Awesome. This level has some of the best contraptions I have ever seen, like the endless-platforming segment(BTW you can get infinite score there) and I've also never seen a boss on a threadmill. The boss's launchpads were a little steep and kind of hard to get over in hurry.

Your puzzles weren't very hard. They were mostly: "Ooh, look, a switch! *turns switch* Ooh, look, another switch..."

I would say that this is one of the best levels I've played in the "No-story platformer" genre. :star::star::star::star::star:
If you have the time, would you play my level, "Red Eagle 2: B2 Bermuda"?

Played the first one and this sequel today and really enjoyed them both. I must say that at first, I felt the level was a little too much like Jackofcourse. I mean, clearly he served as inspiration (both visuals and gameplay) and I can't think of anyone better to imitate, but it didn't feel unique to me because of that.... until about the half way point. Once I reached that, I started to see you pull off some crazier ideas and concepts that seemed very different than what came before. I loved the big wheels and the conveyor section. They worked well and were fun to play.

I thought the boss was pretty awesome as well, except for the lasers on the hands. That just seemed out of place to me in the "natural" setting. Other than that, I thought it was a lot of fun to fight!

Overall, some great levels and I'm interested to see where else in space that Sackboy gets lost!
