Explore the beautiful island of the Fire Lizards, an island full of magical flames, ever-burning fires and glowing lava. Unfortunately, something hasn't been quite right on the island for years now...


At last! I've released this level! I've had this one sitting on my moon since the beginning of August! So this is my first"proper" level since the Heavy Metal Mullet Planet series, and like those this will be a series too (mainly because the thermometer hates me).

This series combines my love of fire, lava, lizards, Guns N' Roses lyrics (yes, you'll see), skulls and monsters! I'd be extremely grateful if some of you could play this, it may not look like it but this level has had months and months of work put into it. Ok, I've run out of things to say, so here's a few random facts about this level...

1.) The levels story has changed at least 5 times now.
2.) I've created 4 versions of this level (all with different gameplay mechanics and visuals), I went with this level, and deleted the others, crazy I know.
3.) Most of the poems come from a Guns N' Roses song called "The Garden" and are read/sung by Alice Cooper.
4.) This level has basically overheated. D:
5.) This is my first use of the layer glitch.
6.) If something doesn't make sense in this level, it's because it's magic! Magic I tell you!

It's Freaking Awesome! couple of things though:

1. Put infinite checkpoints - it's so beautiful and plays hard but awsome - PLEASE use infinites. (at the very least on the boss)

2. slightly less shake on the boss cam

Other than that PERFECTLY awesome level. - I'm in awe of the lights! The skulls are awesome and the scale is perfect... can't say enough good things about it... really!		2010-02-23 06:06:00

It was fiery and I got scared.

Actually that was freaking awesome! I have to agree with Morgana. Really cool stuff there. I will give it another go tomorrow especially if you make any additions and try to be a bit more detailed in my comments.

Wow.... this level was fantastic! Loved all the visual effects, and well-designed gameplay. You don't release levels too often, but when you do - you make them count! This, just like the Heavy Metal levels, has a hard edge to it. The razor blade boss and the skull placements near the end really added attitude and had a "rock and roll" feel. I played this last night with Morgana, And i must say, It was beautiful! the Lighting was perfect, the background was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect!
I really liked the fact that when you got launched out of the little volcano thingys it exploded hahahaa. Really really great level here!		2010-02-24 02:54:00

Got to play it a bit earlier than expected.
I enjoyed it. Especially the race with the cannon-geysers. It was surprising and very.... fiery. I liked how nothing in the level really seemed forced. It all flowed very nicely.
I don't really know what happened at some points because I seemed to die and go to hell multiple times.

My criticism would be that, towards the end when you had to fire the paintinator at the floor and the skull, there was scuba gear next to it that was very hard to get without swapping it out for the paintinator. Then I realized that I didn't need it after I fell down the pit. I know the room was flooded before you got down there, but the scuba gear wasn't really necessary.		2010-02-24 21:38:00

Great theme, great visuals, great effects, great gameplay elements.... yeah GREAT is the word!

Loved the undewater part with all the skulls, it looked gorgeous with the lighting!!

Brilliant level ? one of the best evocations of a fiery realm that I've seen on LBP! The lighting and visual effects were fantastic. I was expecting to be toast far more often than I actually was ? it certainly added a thrill to playing.

The gameplay was exciting too. I loved the race section (and agree with SupaSack about the fun sound effect ? great touch!) and also the bit with the lizard?s tail ? such a good idea.

The boss was awesome and I died about 100 times fighting it ? yeah definitely don't think I got the better of it even if I did finish it off in the end ? moral victory to the chainsaw, lol!

I loved the skulls at the end - such a great way to get to the scoreboard.

My only minor nitpick, if you can call it that, was that, like JellyWeasel, I was a bit confused by the scuba gear near the end. Probably just me not getting it though!

Anyway, great level ? 5 stars and a heart. 		2010-02-28 14:17:00
