'Shattered' input

I've had a game/story Idea floating around in my head for the better part of a decade. I just recently picked up LBP:GOTY and decided that I could finally try to bring my story to light using this wonderful canvas MediaMolecule has given us.

Now here's my problem: The story as it is is by nature Multi-Path. I wanted to have each path with its own distinctive environmental feel, but there's no way to change the environment within one singular level. Do you think it would damage the flow of story more to split it up into five separate levels than it would be to only work with a single environment rather than five?

I'd love some opinions on this aspect!

Yes. However, you give yourself more room for little Tweaks here & there, for added Detail or Extra Scenery.
I'd personally prefer to Split things out, rather than Compress into one Level (& from what you say, Try to squeeze 5 levels worth of things into One may make it alittle messy/ Therm-Killer)

Well, part of the Idea of the story was to have five paths where each journey would be slightly different, but the overall shape of each 'scenario's' level would guide you to the single room that would be a common ending point for each story.

I COULD still do that with separate levels of course, but again the fluidity of it would be sacrificed.

I'm also still very much learning how to build things in LBP. I've only had the game for a week and a half. I don't know that I'd fill a level to full even WITH all five scenarios in one, though I might simply be underestimating the cost of it all.
