Desperados of Tupelo townpickled-punk
A second mask of Lady Masquette has been stolen by some blackhearted thugs. Explore the flooded canyon, make your way across the arroyo and reach the drowned outlaw-town of Tupelo.
All for a fistfull of bubbles...
This is my second level, part of the series around Lady Masquette.

Hey there! Just played your level, and have a couple things that need to be worked out... first, because it is freshest in my mind... you can blow up the bombs the big crab thing shoots at you which blows him over, and you cannot get past him in any way.

in the part where you have to move the pieces of green sponge to get at a sticker prize (there is a revolving X right before it) you can drag on of the green pieces into the X and get stuck back there.

It's not entirely clear which direction you re supposed to go a lot of the time... i would reccommend putting some stickers in there to let us know.

this is entirely my own preference, but i like to make the music boxes/sound effects hidden, as to make them more seamless to the eyes. however, it's your level, and it doesnt really detract from the quality.

okay, so thats the bad bits. now for the good bits. I love the way you use water and floating debrit throughout the level. i looks good, and it gives a good feeling that there was a flash flood. I would reccommend a bit more murkiness of the brown variety however.

I like the mini-puzzles you had throughout. i like the part where you roll the sponge uphill and have to use it to get at that spiderweb of points before it rolls down... well, i like the simple things i guess. you do well at the "fun-factor" with your levels i've noticed. you dont take youself too seriously, and your levels retain a lot of the "little big planet" feel. keep it up, and your levels will only get better!

Thanks a lot for your pointers and for taking the time on My Moon to show me how to improve my level. You gave me lot of cool ideas and showed me very useful tricks.
Also: it was a lot of fun!

The hyperlink to your cool Golf-level doesnt seem to work. Where shall I leave the feedback?

The improvements in your level building is amazing PP! I really enjoyed this. I got stuck a few times and I think you might need a few more clues in places. Use perm switches with some of the 2 ways switches - cos at one point we got stuck because we pulled and unpulled a switch without realising it.

Really liked the wanted posters - must have taken a while to create.

Good visuals, nice puzzles, you're coming along really well. Can't wait for the next one. 4* from me.

I think you’ve really made strides in your level creating. The platforming/puzzling in this level was good fun. I particularly enjoyed the whole broken bridge section and collecting the wanted posters. It was a great idea that you actually had to use the stickers you had collected to earn your reward. The posters looked awesome too. In fact good visuals throughout with some nice touches like the floating debris. I also enjoyed the humour in the level - it all added to the fun.

Areas for improvement. I think it would have been nice to have had some hidden points bubbles or some bubble combos in the drowned village section rather than just the odd one or two which I imagine were put there just to show which way to go. I also agree with the comments above about getting a bit lost at points.

Anyway, I had a good time playing. Keep up the good work!

Ok, returned feedback:
This is a great level, much better than your first! Good obstacles, still a good story, and lots of goodies to find. If you're not working on the third yet, i strongly suggest you go back and rebuild the first one now: i think you'd do much better!

I rated 4 stars, splended tag (i think, not sure), and a heart.

I'd ask for an F4f but you already did it

Thanks, Shropshirelass, great that you liked the level.
I have already been rebuilding the drowned town section, it think it could look better. I'll be adding some hidden stashes of pointbubbles. Also murkier water, more soundeffects. Stuff like that.

I always like those levels you have to expore leisurly to find a way through, but perhaps the path should be somewhat more visible. I'll be adding some pointers soon, and I'll try and install some permanent switches. (I have gone through all the Logic Pack tutorials... but still have a lot of practicing to do ).

Cool, thanks!
I have already updated the first level, Lady Masquette and the Puzzle Garden, with some improvements.
See:

Give it another try if you like.

Much better than your first one. This is multi-pathed. I love when you can walk/swim a lot of different ways. The puzzles was good too. This level deserves lot more plays.

The only thing i could say is, you could fix the "Boss"(I don't know what it is) The one throwing bombs at you. You can kill him in two ways. Shoot his brain, or shoot his bomb, when it is at him. By an accident I should the bomb he was emitting. Then he fell down and i couldn't get past him, because he blocked the way. You need to kill his brain, and it was hard, because I couldn't see it(the camera angle wouldn't let me) I was lucky that I hit it. Maybe you should glue him to the floor or make him with an unbreakable material.

I don't know if you have tried my second level: Doom of Dragons. But you may try it if you want to.

Thanks for the feedback!
TJapan reported the same problem with the crabman Cangrejo la Bomba, and he gave me a good idea on how to fix it. I'll do that soon (already spending way to much time in Create mode on my third level...)

I'll check the Doom of Dragons-level soon.

Hey, I played this earlier but I got stuck at the end! I didn't have enough momentum with the zipline and stalled out, fell into the water with the underwater town, and couldn't find my way to the score pad. I could see it above me, but I had no way to get to it...What's the trick at the end?2010-03-16 00:21:00

Explore the underwater houses, and listen to what the skull tells you.

(SPOILER: In the house most to the left, there is a trigger mechanism that releases the Mask your looking for. The Mask unlocks the scoreboard.)

Alright! I just finished. I noticed that I got the mask to pop last time, but I didn't put two and two together that it would be used to open the score board area. But it does make sense, because the bandits stole the hat and it was my task to retrieve it! Maybe make it a bit more clear when the user pops the mask that the mask is to be taken to the scoreboard.

I liked the wheel, and most of the other tasks/puzzles.
I like the interplay between land and water.

I do wish there were a few more waypoints.
I think the biggest improvement that could be made would be to make changes that make it more clear for the player where they are supposed to go next and what they are supposed to do next. I got lost a few times and I had to look around to find my way; perhaps you could use a few more materials to highlight some key passages.

Good level, enjoyed!

I agree with everyone here. You have improved a lot on level making! Playing through this now. Nice obstacles/puzzles as always. Theres a visible sound thing at the spinning wheel. I couldn't figure out how to get to the scoreboard.. I swam all the way right and all the way left. I don't think I missed anything.. Oh well, it was a cool level. Keep improving!2010-03-20 01:15:00

Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to add some more clues. And hide the visible soundeffect.

This one was my favorite from all the three! I really liked the feel of the level and the story is pretty good too. But haven't you ever used the corner editor tool? It's a very very useful tool that adds this little touch to a level. It makes lines cleaner, and it's more pleasant for the eye to see something well cut.
:star::star::star::star: I really liked playing it!
