Do any of you guys do sketches of levels beforehand? Do you think up a story before hand? Do you just jump in and start creating? I've had this game for about a year now and I've recently rediscovered it, and have been playing it non-stop. But I'm a designer and I kind of got caught up with gaming a bit lately and I really need to get back to the drawing board. So I've been sketching up some ideas, for level structure. I kind of have an idea in my head about story and environment. I just need to sketch out a few things. Maybe I'll get them up within a week or two. but yeah, I was just wondering how some of you guys get started with an idea.

I think this sort of thread would fit better in the Everything Thing Else section, you'll find some similar threads there. But anyway, I always think up a story beforehand, and only two days ago I made some sketches of characters. I was having trouble doing characters in create mode, so I googled a little, browsed through some comics, and tried a few things until I got the look I wanted. Works a lot faster, really.
