Temples int music track length

Archive: 12 posts

Anyone know what it is?

I know I could listen and time it, but what I thought was: someone might already know and / or have a link to it, plus this sort of info is useful to everyone, right? So it's like I'm doing everyone a favour by posting That and I'm in a lazy mood today.

So, any ideas?

edit: crap it's "intmusic" not "int music", this may be where my google searches went wrong It looks as though it might be around 3:30, but I need to check on this.

Hm... glad we could help?

Edit: looks to be a bit longer than 3:30 based on the description in the youtube video:

I'm using this track for the level I'm working on right now, but I really don't know it's length!

I can check that if you want!

No, make the ninja check for himself. It'll be funny when it starts over and he doesn't notice, so he has to do it all over again...

Why so mean comphermc...

Anyway, it interests me to know too, so I timed it
(2 times to be sure/ the end of the track was a little hard to catch the first time) :

3mn 58 seconds exactly!

Hope this helps

Planning on making a 3 min 58 sec survival level? Transition to a new song at the end of the first? Make it so a "day" (using the global object) is the same length as the song?

I kind of like the second and third ideas there. Time it so a day is the same length as the song and then have another song for night time and put them on a cycle.

Jealousy is an ugly thing

I was hoping to go for 5 minutes, with a gradual increase in intensity. Problem is that the temples music has a really gentle bit slap bang in the middle, which is actually really annoying as the different sliders aren't really consistent throughout the track. Knowing it's 4 mins is certainly going to help but after a bit of experimentation last night I think this is going to have to be a trial and error job

Maybe built a device that lets you skip the slow bit ie start Temple a) -> silent different track -> Temple b). That worked for me in an experimental level I built aeons ago.2010-02-18 11:38:00

I did think about that, but wouldn't there be a momentary (like 0.1s) silence... or is it possible to do a seamless join2010-02-18 11:47:00

Yeah, there is a very short pause sadly (at least with the very basic setup I had there was). Maybe you could cover it up with different soundeffect?2010-02-18 11:51:00

I'm thinking custom drumroll. Ahh if only I were musical enough to compose a custom interlude that would fit in nicely! Ooooorrrrr I could do a moocow.... Moocow might work with the temples theme, all hindu temple inspired and all.

Actually, it has just occured to me that a 1-shot emitter sequencer might be able to avoid the gap you get. Depends how the music boxes trigger with instantaneous propogation. It may actually be possible to skip a chunk of the track seamlessly (goodbye several hours of my life while I work out how to make it perfect....)

Edit: Of course.... No matter what you do, the whole thing falls down if someone presses pause. Darn. Why does everything have to be so awkward?

Heh, it amazes me that a perfectionist like you can get any levels published at all. 2010-02-18 13:14:00
