Race switch
Archive: 8 posts
I just came up with this idea, how about a race switch? It would be like a normal race but once the time runs out the switch activates. It could be useful if you want to be cruel and kill the unlucky sacks who don't finish the race But if they finish the race the switch can never be activated. It would go under races even though it's also a switch because the MGS spotlight is a switch but goes under lights. Well go on then, spoil my idea with piles of reasons why this won't work | 2010-02-17 20:00:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
This would to race spam levels on cool pages! but It's a great Idea, but I don't really know what I would use it to... | 2010-02-17 20:13:00 Author: Alec Posts: 3871 |
I have seen people use a very slow rotating gear with a magnetic key on it, that basically rotates around for the amount of time you want the player to complete a task. If they get to the end, there is a proximity switch or lever which causes the motor is stop. If they don't make it to the end and the magnetic key that's on the motor links up with the magnetic switch, the floor dissolves and they die. Or they sometimes just close off the exit with nowhere to go. A "race timer" that is already done for you would obviously be easier to implement. | 2010-02-17 21:24:00 Author: tonytough Posts: 11 |
a slow piston of course would work as well instead of the rotating gear. | 2010-02-17 21:26:00 Author: tonytough Posts: 11 |
a slow piston of course would work as well instead of the rotating gear. Well yes, a slow piston or a rotating gear would work, but it would be much easyer to have a race switch, it is a great idea. | 2010-02-18 16:10:00 Author: Unknown User |
yeah but a race switch would be stupid to implement. Mm only add stuff that we cant already build with the pre existing tools. the fact the spotlight only works in one layer is why it was made because we cant do that our selves. having a piston and a perma switch would do fine in a situation like this. | 2010-02-18 16:19:00 Author: robotiod Posts: 2662 |
You can simply create a Time Wheel System with a cog and a set of Magnetic Key Switches, though it would be nice if there was something like this! | 2010-02-18 16:24:00 Author: PoD CREW Posts: 268 |
or use emitter with limited life time. It is very accurate. All these solutions have problem with score bubbles. | 2010-02-18 17:40:00 Author: waD_Delma Posts: 282 |
