Better Snow
Archive: 9 posts
Hey, long time no see! I was just wondering what's better to make snow (not falling, ground snow) i was using the "snow material" before, but i realized other materials painted whit work as whell or better, so what do you guys think its the best way to make snow (ground). | 2010-02-16 23:09:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Tin Foil painted white is a pretty cool snow effect. Plus, it makes that crunchy snow noise when you run on it. White wood and the sand (painted white) from the Pirates of the Caribbean pack are also nice! | 2010-02-16 23:22:00 Author: GreyMRP Posts: 588 |
Yeah I agree. White wood and painted sand (or sandpaper) work the best by far. Although I have to say that I've never used tin foil. The snow material would be nice if it was not sponge. It's too bulky and bulgey, if you know what I mean... () May I also suggest using plain polyestere painted white. I think that also looks nice. | 2010-02-16 23:28:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Yes I agree with the POTC sand material with a white sticker! One time, I tried with the Blue/green Felt (sponge) and it looked good. But it depend how much you want the snow to look realistic... | 2010-02-16 23:30:00 Author: dajdaj03 Posts: 1486 |
Oh, haven't thought of those. Btw, i don't have the POTC pack yet, so...yeah, can't use its materials. | 2010-02-16 23:32:00 Author: Silverleon Posts: 6707 |
Personally, I prefer shrunk down leds with the light turned off and a white sticker. You have to make the sticker pretty big to cover the black edges of the led, though. [EDIT] he is trying to make snow on the groung, not falling past the environment. Whoops. Yep, it was right there in the first post. And after all that noise I made about how important it is to pay attention before posting. Yeah, I actually like the look of the snow paper, personally. If I were opposed to snow paper, I would go with one of the smoother, more rounded sponge materials. | 2010-02-17 01:32:00 Author: Sehven Posts: 2188 |

Im sorry but if i read the thread right he is trying to make snow on the groung, not falling past the environment. Now back to the question, i have never really used snow that much so im not the best source. When i did make snow i used the sand paper painted white end shrunken down, and i used the octogon not the circle. | 2010-02-17 02:23:00 Author: Emogotsaone Posts: 1030 |
One of the sponges (green with yellow flowers i think) has a great texture to it that looks good stickered white... | 2010-02-17 02:29:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
You could use the cream sponge material and you can make a sticker look like better snow colored with a little blue added in. | 2010-02-17 21:00:00 Author: tanrockstan34 Posts: 1076 |
