Jetpacks drifting
Archive: 9 posts
I've never messed with jetpacks much before but I find they shift around after you've glued them to things. Every time I go in to edit the level I find the jetpack has drifted a little bit further to the right. Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening or do I just have to keep moving it back? | 2010-02-16 09:09:00 Author: SalieriAAX Posts: 421 |

Every time I go in to edit the level I find the jetpack has drifted a little bit further to the right. Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening or do I just have to keep moving it back? I had this issue with my 'Garage' levels along with the drifting motor bolts. I hoped that the issue would of been fixed by patch 1.03, but I guess it hasn't? What I did was left them until the last minute, adding them in just before I published. That's about all you can do. | 2010-02-16 09:49:00 Author: MattAstr Posts: 99 |
I will have to do this with many of my pistons in my present level too... | 2010-02-16 09:59:00 Author: Arrestor Posts: 363 |
I will have to do this with many of my pistons in my present level too... Yeah, it's a real hassle. Adding everything in at the last minute without a proper play test. | 2010-02-16 19:52:00 Author: MattAstr Posts: 99 |
Oh i test a lot! But you can do it without entering create mode. | 2010-02-17 11:04:00 Author: Arrestor Posts: 363 |
Yes, jetpacks always seem to drift. I try to never glue them down, but rather connect them to something using a rod set to invisible. Depending on which way they shift, you can simply adjust the length of the rod. Otherwise, deleting the rod is much easier and more reliable than ungluing the jetpack. | 2010-02-17 17:30:00 Author: Taffey Posts: 3187 |
Oh i test a lot! But you can do it without entering create mode. Yeah, you can do that without a lot of things. Except it won't work for motor boltts/cars. | 2010-02-17 20:02:00 Author: MattAstr Posts: 99 |
Hi Salreir, I mentioned this in another thread in the level showcase section. You can surround the jet back in a 1 thick box out of any material. That totally stops the drift issue (The fuse room in my game 'Pirates of the carob bean' uses it) Make sure the 'box' is on the back layer so you can walk past the jet pack. That make sence? I'm not too good at explaining things. | 2010-02-17 20:39:00 Author: Shade_seeker Posts: 328 |
