The perils of Create Mode

Archive: 16 posts

Do you ever get the feeling when you've finished a section in your level, and then you're like... "Pff, I can't be bothered now".

I get that alot, usually I just cruise around for a few minutes until I motivate myself to do the next section, or just give up and watch TV, or head to the forums instead.

Anyone else get this?

ALOT! You see the four columns were you have to make a row to swim up in my new level? I sat for near a week trying to figure what to do next.... I just thought: "Meh, I dunno anymore... A rocket cheetah funpark?"2010-02-15 21:15:00

Personally, I think it's the scenery, and the detail which is the part where you start losing the will to live.

I was on LBP yesterday, just making loads of obstacles, no scenery. And it took me like... A long time before I stopped, and watched TV!

But as soon as you finish the scenery for a section, that's when your like "Pff, Can't be bothered to do the next part".

Anyone agree?

Yeah, actually. Scenery sucks. Lets just make a level out of dark matter and it'll do...2010-02-15 21:20:00

Scenery is like a right of passage...

If you can sit through hours of making scenery, you will become one with Create Mode.

Man, I love making scenery and whatnot actually... I've gotten to the point where I can make pretty much anything in LBP... Only to find that I have no creativity >_<.2010-02-16 02:34:00

Reality is prior to me so I would usually do something else if the time is right, though I can really get hooked on creating!2010-02-16 02:58:00

With me, I sometimes have a LONG burst of creativity and building for about a week or two. But then I get bored and go play MW2 or Home somethin' for about another week. I switch on-off on a weekly basis.

Sometimes I post here more often than I actually play!

I do that a lot, whenever I do, I usually end up playing some online levels to re-motivate myself.2010-02-16 15:24:00

Well, I try not to see the two items separately. Both the art or scenery as the "structure" should be considered "one" from the beginning. it is easier to create new objects. Or define the theme of the level. Where art itself is both the obstacle.2010-02-16 17:56:00
