A new glitch

Archive: 3 posts

Hi everyone! I think iv'e discovered a new glitch (well its new to me anyway).

What it does is embed small sponges inside a material. Though instead of the sponges being stationary, they move up and down rapidly inside the material.

What you do is make a round sponge and shrink it to the smallest it can go. You then keep duplicating it lots (the thermo will go up like crazy and you'll get a bit of lag)

Then unpause everything so that all the sponges are on the floor in a big heap. Next make a rectangle of material ( it can be any material just as long as its heavier than sponge - you can change it later if necessary.

Unpause and let the material fall down onto the sponges. When it hits , some sponges will be crushed, however some will get trapped inside the material and start shaking inside it.

1)you can only move the material about in unpause mode because as soon as you start moving it in pause mode the material will just disintegrate.

2) You can't use the corner editor

3) you can use the material changer tool - light materials such as cardboard will jump up and down.

Its not really very usefull, I cant really think of any applications for it except one.

It can make quiet rain.

By that I mean the effect where you put a material on a fast moving piston to splash in water which causes water drops to fly up. It makes a horrendous noise, however using this glitch you can create the same effect but only its silent.

All you do is change the material to dark matter and place it half submerged in the water. The only problem is that the water doesn't go very high, though its great for fountains or small water features

Hmm, interesting. I noticed a similar effect when I got some peach floaty lodged in (I think) Darkmatter, although It wasnt all inside or all outside (about half was stuck inside DM)2010-02-15 12:51:00
