I'm sort of burned of the game. :(

Yeah lately I've been taking a needed break from LittleBigPlanet. Not only there was alot of other games I bought and didn't play for a second but it's also that I pulled out 2 levels in the span of 3 week at the beginning of the year. Couple this with the promotion effort for each level and you get a tired guy.

I also began another level, a swamp level. Actually I drew it all except the end that I am not sure about. I mean, I have some "end" but I don't really know how to finish it. Now I dunno if it's because of that "end" that doesn't please me but I don't feel super compelled on continuing the level. I've been playing some other games since 2-3 weeks and this "detached me" from the community a little and removed some of my addiction on LBP I think.

Now it's like there's a little barrier between me and the game. If I go back into it I'll need to get back the comfort feeling I had when I was playing everyday. At the same time I would go back pretty much only to create but my new level doesn't compel me that much of going back to creation. I dunno, It's like it's better to not play the game right now because I sort of fear to go back into it and get bored. Ain't that stupid? lol

so yeah sorry for the live journal style post

Doesn't sound stupid at all - I know the feeling, but I think the ideas themselves create the motivation - you can't force it. Let's face it, with Little Big Planet you could feel totally bored one minute, and suddenly be creating like a maniac because of some great idea.

I've personally been playing some other games and other people's levels lately, waiting for the next idea to hit me like a ton of bricks. My last couple levels (Lunar Lander and Sea Dragon) were built entirely for myself, without any intention of popularity.... which was actually a bit liberating.

So.... I've been playing Tomb Raider Underworld lately on the XBox 360 and have just started to think of some cool ideas again.

I've had the feeling several times already and I'm going through it again. I'm trying to not focus on Lbp at the moment and trying to get back into my older games such as Borderlands and I just got Bioshock 2.2010-02-15 05:47:00

Don't worry; as long as you keep your sanity by the end of the week, I call that a success. Take a breather and go play some shooters or something to relieve some stress and pressure. Besides, it's not like LBP will disappear off the face of the earth in the next minute or tw/sniped.2010-02-15 08:13:00

Well, unless most people start to feel like me and MM notices that there's not much people still playing. lol
So continue to play while I take a break ok?

LOL!! No worries!

After finishing my last level I've been taking a break myself. I was doing way too much in completing that and helping them out with The Game that I just felt like taking a break. Plus I really enjoy watching the winter Olympics, so I have been spending a bit of time doing that as well as other stuff that I put off in trying to complete my level!

I did pick up the controller a bit on Saturday and worked on a few things, but nothing major. I've always felt that if you are forcing yourself to create then your not doing anyone a favor as the level probably won't end up being fun.

So take a break!! We will be around!

You're not alone Ranger.
This game is so much time sucking and little rewarding that this happens.
My love for the game i near 0 from late November, still I enjoy the community, so I hope to see you around here anyway.

I'm definetely lurking around and will probably pop the game in from time to time and play one of your levels. (the members I know the most). Or simply look at spotlights.
I sort of wasn't at ease with taking a break but I think I accepted that I need one. Rushing my level in the making wouldn't be a great idea anyways.
I will definetely be back and publish it but just later. I sure hope to see you guys (and gals!!) around.

LBP can be a real life-sucker, Since I've started playing LBP (Nov 08), I've gotten over 30 games (this includes Wii Ware and PSN games), How many I've actually played.....10

Above all that I haven't been in a creative mood since I started recording levels (which was when the GotY came out) and my room is a disaster (Geez if I can get sucked into an game like this, I don't want to know what'll happen to me if I've tried an actual MMO :eek

I'm trying to reduce time for everything LBP related, for other games and such, and see how things turn out.

Hell, I haven't properly played LBP in WEEKS. I don't think I've properly had a play session this YEAR! Once you start doing other stuff - anything else, really - it becomes very easy and tempting to take a loong hiatus. My playing days are far from over, and when I get back in, I'm going to have a LOT of catching up to do, and am quite looking forward to it.2010-02-15 21:00:00

I feel like totally opposite at the time. I got a lot of games at Christmas, and in the start I tried to play them all. But now LBP has bitten me totally, and I can't play other. LBP takes all my time for gaming. It's nice, but I did also want to complete some of the other games I started on.2010-02-15 21:08:00

My mom made me quit LBP, but the withdrawal symptoms were so bad that I quit smoking instead. It was much easier.2010-02-15 22:07:00

rofl. wow, is it wrong that I know exactly how that feels?

Take a break for sure... come back if you want. It's a game but it has a nasty way of becoming a lifestyle doesn't it. I find myself taking more frequent mini breaks than I have in the past. Just a night off for something else to do but I totally understand the sentiment.

I know how you feel. Last May or June after I finished Mountain Marathon I had had it with lbp. I barely made it through that level. For me, I was just getting frustrated with all of the faults in this game. It seemed like everything that went wrong made me just want to throw my controller. Now, 7 or 8 months later I'm back at it. I'm not playing very many levels, but I've been creating a lot. During my "vacation" I hardly touched lbp, or even gave it much thought. In retrospect I think my little "vacation" was just what I needed! 2010-02-15 23:36:00

^^^ It is because you understand how many others were in the same situation as yours and are giving sympathy.

Either that, or all of the stories you've read are frickin' hilarious.

You don't want LBP ever to feel like a chore or job either. You have signed no contract or made no commitment. By all means teak a break if you want to, it can't do anything but good.

I got MAG the 27th and I have been struggling to choose a game but I had to complete a certain level for a contest and a friend wanted to finish it too. Of course with MAG right in front of me (literally 2 feet in front of me) LBP did start to feel like my job.

Take a break, enjoy some other games because everyone comes back eventually.
