http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/7629/aphotot.jpgYou are send to the land of Dragons, but an evil master has taken over the place. Help the dragons get their place back.
The picture is a picture of the dark master. Help get rid of him and save the land of dragons! Elsewhere they'll be doomed. It is a Puzzler Platformer, in which I've done my best. It's my second lvl, and it's pretty long. There is a bozz in the end, which my Friend Eagle-Ear helped me with. I hope you will like it. I really hope you can comment, if you think it's too hard?, because it have been played 20 times by the community, and it's only completed 2 times.

Hiya again,
You're definately getting better. The visuals are improving (although you need to stop using regular shapes), the creatures looked good, and the puzzles I got to worked well. Unfortunately I got stuck fairly early on. The grabbable that takes you up past the clouds - I got through the door at the top - let go.. I fell back through the gap but the grabbable didnt (it must have landed on the sides) Sadly this meant I got stuck under the platform and couldnt get back up.

A few ways of solving this--
1. make the grabbable constantly moving up and down. This way when it goes to minimum length it will sort itsself out.
2. When the player gets above the 'gap' make sure there is a clear landing area so that LBP physics take over if the player lets go. (should land up there)
3. Slow the winch down so the player has more chance to see where to land.
4. Make it a lift or stiff winch that wont swing from side to side.
5. Change the shape of the upper room to stop it getting stuck.

Hope that helps.
Adi

At first I did also have it moving allways, but the I changed it to direction. I think I will take a piston there instead. I go and improve later today.2010-02-14 09:31:00

NB: Update:

Improved start of the level. It now contains several different dragons.

And now it has a secret area, which can be found.

Hint: Jump on off a dragon, you don't have to.

Interesting level. The background and enviroment could use some work, but I liked the eyeball creatures. The gameplay statred interesting, with dragging the block to jump across the creature.

I wasn't able to progress beyond the firing plasmabolts, however. Maybe some tweaking is in order here to have more players finish your level?

Also: I found a glitch: the blue dragon you ride on was missing a segment.

Strange, In edit mode it isn't missing a segment. I'll try see what I can do. Which part with plasmabolts? Is it the part inside the vulcano? You can jump over them aswell.

Doom of Dragons

Positives:
I really love your creatures!! The first ice dragon looked phenomenal, I also liked the simple look of the "Beholder" creatures in the cave. The other dragons were nice on the flight up out of the cave. They appeared to be the same object with different decorations, did you do that to save thermo? I was impressed with your simply staircase/ladder to climb up onto the first rideable dragon. Using all three layers was a unique idea that I cannot remember ever seeing before. I know it seems like a simply thing to be impressed with, but it's little innovations like that which indicate that you have a load of potential creativity in you. Your small areas of platforming are fairly simple, but really satisfying to play! I also liked your decision to added your creatures as prize bubbles a little off the beaten path. The Dragon Temple title was really nice looking! I also liked the boss battle at the end. Simple but fun, nonetheless. I also liked the story. You did a nice job of setting the theme, and using the story elements to keep players moving through the level.

Suggestions:
- You clearly spend a lot of time developing your creatures, but it did not appear that you spent much time developing the environment the creatures are in. This level would be superb if the environment was a beautiful as your flying dragon. I thought it would be nice if you spent some time with the corner editor and added some objects to each of the 3 layers to create a little geographical interest. Even taking some shapes and gluing them to the floor to break up the flat 3 layer plane would really help. (TheAdipose and Lous_Destruc's cave and boat tutorial should give you visual ideas of what I'm talking about.)
- The sponge grab on the top of the dragon seemed really inappropriate to me. It really took away from the idea I was going to actually ride a dragon. My first thought was, "Darn, it's too bad he didn't make a little platform that looked like a saddle to ride on!".
- I also think I would add an invisible piston to your checkpoint on that dragon that pushes the checkpoint out of the top of the camera angle when you touch the grab. It seemed a little wierd having the checkpoint following me.
- Just before you get to the Evil Master there is a score bubble arrow pointing to the left. In my opinion the arrow should point to the right since that is the way to end of the level. If a player went around the wheel, they would see the other score bubbles off to the left which would take them to the prize bubble. I think that would make it seem more like they found a hidden area, then they were led by the hand to it.
- I really loved the Dragon Temple entrance marquee! It did take me a moment to realize that those were burning dragon heads though. I thought if you added some non burning highlights it would help define them.
- I would have liked it if the level was a little longer. You have some really nice ideas on platforming. I would have liked to seen more of it in this level.
- You have a lot of grammatical and typographical errors in you dialog. Please spend a little time cleaning those up.

Creatures: 5/5
Story: 4/5
Gameplay: 3/5
Environment: 1/5

Overall, I gave you 3 stars, but this level has a LOT of great potential! If you improve the environment please let me know!

Hi thanks for posting feedback for this level. I'm glad that you liked the monsters. I was also proud of them. But bare over me, that my 1st language isn't English. I'm from Denmark, and I don't use English that much, even though I really love the language. I'm trying to improve my English by using time here and on LBP.

I, accually, meant that you should play my level called: Dragon Ball - First Book. It's new, (I published it yesterday) and I got a lot better than I was, when I made this level.

Doom of Dragons was my second level. And the first level in which I really spend time on. It was the level, which I learned about making gameplay and other things, but really unpolished though. I didn't spend much time on decorating and the visuals.

In my new one (Dragon Ball - First Book) I took my time to really understand logic, and I also think it's much better visually. Here's the link if you want to give me some feedback about it.
