Level Linking Tool

I'm not sure if this was mentioned before, but it involves linking levels. Let's say you have a great idea, but you know it's just going to take up too much themo. So instead of cutting down your initial level, you simply make multiple levels. Then you have a Object from your tools that you'd place on your level, tweak it to tell it what published level to attach to and then if everybody goes into this "teleporter" or whatever you want to call it, it basically redirects them to the next level automatically. It can still do the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc place winner prior to going. Currently, if you wanted to simulate this, you'd have to have people leave the game, go back to the group leader's pod, find the next "continuing" level, and then enter it. The new way would just do this automatically and even prompt the "leader" of the group if he wants to go or just return to pod. Just a thought and probably very easy to implement. I really like this idea it would work really well for my latest set of levels for Rockband, as there is 3 difficultys meaning 3 times the song which fills thermo up amzingly so you only have 1 song so if i could link both the levels together with different songs it would rock. | 2010-02-09 20:08:00 Author: lbpholic Posts: 1304 |

Yeah, I know of keys, but this way you don't have to stop the flow of play. If you wanted to go one step further, the Linking tool could Specify not only a level to switch to, but potienitally a certain checkpoint Designation in that level. I can see having the ability to tweak a checkpoint and give it a name. Now you have a portal to move to specific spots in levels to go back and forth between them. Sort of like the teleporter idea (which works great in a single level now that checkpoints can be "turned on") but between multiple levels.
