New Switch?
Archive: 22 posts
I was thinking, What if a Text Activated Switch Were Creatable? No. Because nothing reacts to Text. Then I thought... http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad217/Tommy012345/SpeechSensor-1.png Basically, A Switch, that can recongnise Certain Words or Phrases that are said within its Proximity- By Sackboy using the Type-Text Item from their Pop-it Tweak Word/Phrase: [Here is where you enter your Text that will activate the Switch] Proximity: Same as other Switches Visible: *Tick* / *Cross* Eg... #1 Say the word entered was 'Cheese' (Casing not relavant) Now, Sackboy enters the Proximity of the Switch, & Says to his Friend(s) "I like cheese" The sensor then activates! (Also, his friends will be confused about the exact Word/Phrase - Was it "Cheese", was it "Like Cheese"?) #2 The phrase entered is 'Silver Spoon' Sackboy says "Breakfast is served with a Silver Spoon" The switch activates, because all words in the [Input Area] were said in the same sentence Additional Notes: All word must be said, in the same sentence (regardless of which player says it) for it to Activate | 2010-02-08 23:28:00 Author: Nurolight Posts: 918 |
A little gimmicky, but awesome!!! That's very smart. You could give commands to robots and have password-activated lockboxes | 2010-02-08 23:33:00 Author: Incinerator22 Posts: 3251 |
Yes! Ten characters. | 2010-02-08 23:38:00 Author: warlord_evil Posts: 4193 |
koo idea that would make lvls with passwords would come in handy and what if i little sound went off when you say the wrong thing like the new sticker switch. | 2010-02-08 23:41:00 Author: Mangarocks14 Posts: 262 |
I think this is a great idea. It would add a lot of depth to adventure/rpg-type levels, as well as many other uses creators could come up with, such as having an NPC sidekick you can boss around! | 2010-02-08 23:47:00 Author: Gilgamesh Posts: 2536 |
This will also be better with Code levels and quizzes! Amazing idea! | 2010-02-09 00:57:00 Author: Pantyer2 Posts: 652 |
Fine idea there! I would certainly want this. | 2010-02-09 02:30:00 Author: PoD CREW Posts: 268 |

I'd forgotten there was a text tool, great idea. I love the fact that you have a picture too, ****** it makes it look so real... | 2010-02-09 09:00:00 Author: The Last Stop Posts: 240 |
Very nice idea! I approve of this, passwords would be a snap to make with this, plus the RPG element- I like! :3 | 2010-02-09 11:18:00 Author: FuzzballFox Posts: 217 |
Very good idea indeed. This could be used for active story telling, passwords, using words as commands, etc. | 2010-02-09 12:03:00 Author: waD_Delma Posts: 282 |
This is VERY good, except for those people who can't write text. | 2010-02-09 13:28:00 Author: TNSv Posts: 302 |

THOSE WHO HAVE A SUB-ACCOUNT CAN'T WRITE TEXTZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Godsackit! Are you sure? I'm pretty sure they can. I'm probably wrong. | 2010-02-11 20:41:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure they can. I'm probably wrong. The master account can set whever you can or not. My dad did it for a bit, before I asked him to remove it. Man that was annoying | 2010-02-11 20:46:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
Oh. I lied about my age so things like that would never happen. I don't even know my age on psn, so if they ask for whatever reason... i'm dead. | 2010-02-11 20:50:00 Author: Doopz Posts: 5592 |
Not to mention not everyone speaks your language. Or even has the education to spell whatever it is you want correctly. | 2010-02-12 01:38:00 Author: thekevinexpress Posts: 256 |
Would be very cool! It would just get complicated about capitalization and stuff... But definitely a great idea! I'd use it in a level! | 2010-02-12 01:57:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
THOSE WHO HAVE A SUB-ACCOUNT CAN'T WRITE TEXTZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Godsackit! im a sub account and i talked to you didn't I? its parental control settings. | 2010-02-13 03:07:00 Author: tomodon246 Posts: 624 |
Good idea, but many flaws. Like, say you have to say "I like jumping on pogo sticks through alligator filled swamps, with bannanas eating cherries." Without a keypad, it would get annoying to type sooner or later. | 2010-02-15 03:35:00 Author: Testudini Posts: 3262 |
I figure this swtich would be like every level. If the player can't figure out what to do in a level, they'll quit. It's not like this switch would be the only thing to make it happen. But I love the idea of being able to type things like "Open Sesame" and a door opens, or "Abra Kadabra" and a rabbit appears out of a hat. I don't think some of you people realise how affective this swtich is, it's not mimickable. I mean you could even have a level where it asks, for a basic example, "Do you want to die?" If you say "No!" you would live. If you say "Yes" a flamming piece of wood could fall out of the sky and kill you. You could even have a choose your own adventure level. (Would you like to sell your cow for some magic beans?- Jack and the Beanstalk. | 2010-02-15 08:26:00 Author: The Last Stop Posts: 240 |
