Unhearted: Drakes Misfortune 2GruntosUK http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11724After foiling Cool Levels many months ago, Drake finds himself pushed to the nether regions of Cool Levels once again. Help him quest through "Teh Temple Of Teh Real Waterz" and find an ancient tome that contains the knowledge to give him get him on page 1 again. I'm finally done after weeks of work and tweaking. You can expect all the usual you get from me, secrets, puzzles, platforming, and a little backtracking. Tweaking and polishing this thing was a nightmare so I hope enjoy it. I had no room for a fun park again unfortunatly, and what I could fit in was'nt actually fun, and sort of against the point Thanks to all the testers for pointing MANY things out over the weeks. Special thanks to Jump_button and CompherMC for helping my with the catapults, FULLGORR for playing for hours with a mechanic that actually did'nt make the final cut, and Morgana for little bits of detail and a few extra lights. and to xkappax for helping me with logic for the catapult puzzle. Apologies to the people who wanted to test and didnt get keys, i had loads to do as it was and didnt get round to sending extra keys out, sorry Heres some more pics.... http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11722 http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=11723 http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12585 http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=12586 Have fun Media Molecule have added the level to their community picks MM Picks (http://www.mediamolecule.com/community/mmpicks/level/unhearted_drakes_misfortune_2/) | 2010-02-08 23:08:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |

Haha. --- Reminds me a bit of Cap'n Sackbeard! In the outdoor sections (only 2) is does look similar, those palms trees were to good not to use again. The rest is different though hopefully | 2010-02-08 23:29:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Great. Somewhat glad I didn't get to test so it's all a surprise now | 2010-02-08 23:30:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |
Yay it's finally ready! Thanks for letting me sneak an Led or three in there It was my pleasure! No problem, I actually used your little bit of detail again later on . I hope it is ready, I know there's a few little points people may pick up on but I'm sick of tweaking, and thought it best to release and fix as I go. Great. Somewhat glad I didn't get to test so it's all a surprise now Again sorry about that, people were picking things up left right and center and I had loads of things to fix, by the time they were done and the level was finished I just needed it out of my hair for a while | 2010-02-08 23:37:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Lovely! As soon as it lets me online (LBP won't connect tonight for some reason) I shall play! I have a strong feeling this is going to be my favourite level of yours. | 2010-02-08 23:41:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |
Totally fantastic Grant, i loved it. More than any of your other levels, i think you have such a great balance of gameplay in this one. Lots of different things to interact with. And it looks so great, really cartoon-like and colourful, the green & blues just pop out, it's so lush it reminds me of Mario Sunshine. The layout is awesome and clever, no surprises there! Im gonna run through this one a few times, its that good. On my first run, there were two things i think might just stop the flow a tad, the cannon that you swim by and later return to, i reckon it might be better if the fuse light is off the first time you swim past, the light kind of makes you think that something needs to be done with it at that point. It was the same when i tested a few weeks back, its a small thing but in a level where there is so much working out to do, you don't need red herrings. The other was the lever towards the end of the level in the bit where you have two large floating blocks. (i think its the one that destroys the totem for that area). A little bit of a spotlight might draw attention to it, i ended up diving down and meandering for a good few minutes cos its easily missed. (EDIT - its actually the last lever in that section right at the bottom of the water,i swam past it about three times and didn't see it...) Neither of these are actual problems, but they might help do away with some unnecessary faffing and keep the momentum rolling. Anyway, i think its my favourite level of yours, its class! Edit 2- I've found 10/12 gems, right sneaky some of them! | 2010-02-08 23:41:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
Finally! I remember playing the first over the summer and absolutely loved it, I'm expecting great things from this one and I'm sure it'll surpass all of them. | 2010-02-08 23:46:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger Posts: 787 |
Top of the leaderboard. W00t w00t. Admitedly I'm only beating 2 people and my score isn't that good A few points I found: 1. was an awkward bit of layershifting that resulted in an untimely death. 1 lever that I couldn't, for the life of me, find for about 5 minutes and one of the gems pays out double. It's kinda hard to explain where any of those are so grab me when you see me online and I'll try to show you. Oh and I had some major emitter issues with those catapults, I suck with them anyway so when the ammo doesn't spawn it gets ever so slightly on the frustrating side Anyhoo, loved it. I think this is your most compact toing and froing and running past where you were before levels yet, and even though I know you don't plan it, it still boggles my mind every time. :star::star::star::star::star: and a one of these <3 | 2010-02-08 23:46:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
13 more Minutes and I am all over this! Loved what I saw a couple weeks ago so this should be awesome! | 2010-02-09 00:47:00 Author: AJnKnox Posts: 518 |
Nice! Just got done playing it! Only found 2 gems... beautifully done, and fantastic level of detail and plane work. One thought I had.... it seems that a player would need to have a fairly decent IQ to make it through this level, whereas it's generally the lower-IQ players who are amazed by "real water". But, on the other hand, if it were easier so a lower IQ person could make it through - the joke would probably be lost on them anyway.... it would only result in a bunch of soggy PS3's. Great job, and a lot of fun! 5 stars and a heart. I hope this level can swim past the crap floating up cool pages right now. | 2010-02-09 00:55:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Top of the leaderboard. W00t w00t. Not anymore!! Although my score is not much to brag on either. I'm going to reiterate some of what I just read, for a couple of reasons. First, is that I love this level and agree with those above me who say it may be one of your best, if not the very best. So much to do, but very little repetition in tasks. So much to see but never so cluttered or compacted that you cannot see what needs to be done or where you need to go. I also am (as always) in reverent awe of your ability to layer and cross-track your levels (seldom do we actually back-track in this)... you are the master. :hero: Second, while I can only find a few nit-picks, they have already been mentioned. I agree that the second cannon (seen first underwater) needs to have the fuse light extinguished until it is primed. I also found the catapult mechanic a bit frustrating and tiresome (it worked fairly well on the elevator, but on the color matching exercise I was getting a bit short tempered). Now... what really gets me is how many gems I can see but cannot figure how to get to them. This starts a new paragraph here because it is not a gripe - I rather think it's brilliant. I want to go back downstairs right now and start over to see if I can figure some more of them out. Quite near to perfection, my friend. A classic puzzling, platforming, comedic masterpiece. Look out Spotlight! here comes Grant (again)! :star::star::star::star::star:, Hearted, and tagged Brilliant | 2010-02-09 00:59:00 Author: v0rtex Posts: 1878 |

No "thanks" to me for my "Tetris Logic", Grant? Hmph. I see how it is! I'm gonna try to go online tonight and play this. Haven't played the final product yet. I'm sure it'll be amazing, though. As usual. ^__^ | 2010-02-09 01:57:00 Author: xkappax Posts: 2569 |
Great, it's out! Grant, next time you're in town, there are some things I need to show you. The level is slightly broken. I found a way that allows you to skip about 2/3's of the level. | 2010-02-09 01:59:00 Author: FULLGORR Posts: 245 |

Just played your level. with Codibear. And WOW! 5 stars and hearted! Total awesomeness. The 3D, the lighting, the puzzles. Amazing! Great work! And loved the water jokes! Thank you for such a massive creation. Took about 20 minutes to play! Massive 5 and a huge heart! | 2010-02-09 05:14:00 Author: fijski8 Posts: 159 |
Wow, what a level! It was huge! Took a very long time to get through but it was worth it. It looks like you put a lot of time into planning this level out. The backtracking was well thought out and I thought it was really neat how at certain points of the level you brought objects from way earlier, like the red and yellow floating balls, to get you past obstacles that you were presented with half a level later. The gems were also hidden very well. I found a fair number of them but I know there's a couple that I missed. Incredibly well designed! Great visuals too! my only complaint is that some switches were very difficult to see. If i missed them I was left wandering around until I stumbled across them, which can get tiresome if you miss more than one or two. I don't play on the largest TV in the world either, so that probably didn't help but maybe if you could highlight where they are by changing the material directly behind them or something it would help out others in my position. Anyhow, great level. 5 stars and a heart for sure. | 2010-02-09 05:48:00 Author: Duffluc Posts: 402 |
Totally Awesome! 5 Stars and Hearted and tagged FUN. So I am playing your level when my roommate comes home (who doesnt really play LBP except what I force on him...Hey its my big screen TV and PS3 so you gotta pay the price to enjoy them) LOL Anyway... He looks at what I am doing and asks whos it is...I say gruntosUK and he sits down and begins watching. I am taking it slow and checking for gems everywhere. I have to stop and use the restroom and while I am in there he picks it up and begins to play.... 4 hours later we are both trying our hardest to find the 2 secrets we missed...BUT...it did give me the Highscore though! Ok there were quite a few little things several of which I sent you a pic of. There are a few more that are hard to explain I will have to show you. I have to say in so many ways your best work! Grant - V0rtex and I managed to find most of the secrets... couldn't always reach them but you know Seriously I posted a pic. There's two unlit I know where they are and I think I can get to them.... another day. Found one or two things with elevators in places that could be unfortunate but it's hard to explain where. Also if you let someone join while you playing it the water level goes wonky. Just a heads up (I know there's not much you can do abut it but other players fyi) Your best work hands down. Fun, pretty, complex, smart, it's everything a level should be Grant Well done! | 2010-02-09 06:29:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |

Wowzer - this is one of the most wonderfully crafted levels I've ever played! I'll not repeat what other members have been saying - it's chock full of fun, intrigue and humour. Action-adventuring at its best. I'm not sure what's been fixed or not fixed, but I got through without major issues. I absolutely sucked at gem collecting - only 2 found - but it gives me a good excuse to replay later when I have more time. I loved the catapults. Yes, there's a knack to using them and getting it right, but I thought the novelty and ingenuity far outweighed the cries of 'aaarrgh!' when one just misses its target. The level has a great seamless flow to it. I enjoyed the backtracking and use of layers, and the cutting ill-disguised sarcasm at the end made me laugh out loud! I really enjoyed this very much. Like I say, I may edit this post later with hopefully more gems found. But the gems for me were a side-quest - the overall experience of figuring out the way forward was the real meat, and it was really satisfying to reach the end. My overall verdict was easily 5* and hearted. There isn't an 'Instant Classic' tag, so i had to choose 'Brilliant'. Well done, and thank you! | 2010-02-09 11:10:00 Author: MrsSpookyBuz Posts: 1492 |
TE NOES!!!! Well, this level really blew me away. The totems, the catapult, the "ACME-Style"-Weight all really smart ideas and i think i don't have to comment on the visuals since you already know what EVERYONE should say about it. ...but well i could't complete the first time last night. I took the elevator up and saw the weight and then decided to look at the cannon down there again and look around some more. Then when i wanted to take the elevator up again, i jumped at it and grabed for only a sec so the swtich would flipp to the other side. Outcome was that i landed on the ground watching the elevator going up, "leaving me out in the rain". I know that you are not THAT fond with logics but please add something there so that it goes down again. It was really frustrationg that the, except this, flawless level stopped because of a 3 meter elevator being out of reach. You also gave me no other choice than rating it :star::star::star::star::star: and hearting it. I felt so abused...:arg: | 2010-02-09 12:36:00 Author: Vanemiera Posts: 329 |

LOL, grant, I was just joking with you. ^__^ The Tetris logic night was a lot of fun, though. I love how the laws of physics just stop applying for no good reason. It really is a great level. I got a lot more secrets than I usually get, I was rather proud of myself. I'm usually terrible with that. Also, I was actually surprised at how long it was! I think it took me at least a half an hour to complete. Now, granted, I was looking for secrets and stuff, but I looked up at the clock and I was like WHOAH! Great work. It might be your best yet, or close to it! | 2010-02-09 14:40:00 Author: xkappax Posts: 2569 |
I was hoping there would be another clever play on words for the title, as in 'Unhearted 2: Some clever pun on Among Thieves' But I can't think of one... If you have a look in the 'projects' thread for this level you'll see loads of people coming up with ideas for names. I've got to say none really worked as well as the first one for me. They felt like a 'pun' because you needed one, instead of actually having it because it's good. I think the name you went with was probably the best. (Unless someone can think of an awesome one!) I think the 'Among n00bs' is the best I've seen, but it's a may feel a little bit too 'attacking' to a good part of the community | 2010-02-09 16:07:00 Author: jackofcourse Posts: 1494 |

Absolutely amazing. My favourite of yours by far, and with subjectivity aside, I would probably say your best level too. The scope of it is amazing. I got stuck at one point in particular. A big red ball comes floating up and you have to drag it over to a red stand, and then you get a cut scene, and I couldn't for the live of me work out what it was for (it's when you're behind the spikes on wobble bolts). Spent about 10 minutes going back and forward. I eventually got the cut scene again by resetting the ball, and just noticed the faintest bit of sponge above my head, it was a lever! I'm not sure if it was me or not, but even with the cut scene I couldn't really see the lever at all. The way you put lights near them is fantastic, but in this case, the light is like on the end of a skeleton arm so it just made me think that he was pointing up somewhere haha. It's not like you can do much about my stupidity though! I really can't get over the scope of the level. It is absolutely massive. I feel the backtracking is probably better in this level than any of your others too. This is probably down to being able to use water, even though you are in the same place, because you can be either running or swimming, the gameplay is totally different. Apart from the bit I just said I got stuck on, there's literally no other point where I didn't know exactly where I needed to go, which is rare for one of your levels! So I'd say even though there is just as much backtracking as ever, it is a little more defined and obvious as to what you have to do. Which can only help in my opinion! You have outdone yourself here Grant. Well done mate. EDIT: Oh, the slingshots were cool. I can see how some people might find them frustrating but I liked them. Grant, I thought I"d tell you that Morgana and I broke the level last night because I did something really stupid. Sigh. I don't even want to tell you what I did, because it's really idiotic. We had gotten right to the end and were about to cross the finish gate, but I just HAD to go back and see if I could get some secrets. We got the one and then went back to the area with the switches and the rising water. .... So... dove down to the very bottom and I guess I triggered a global water switch or something. The water went back down to it's original level and we tried to raise it again, but the switches were already flipped, so they did nothing. We ended up not being able to get back because we crossed a spawn point. I just wanted to let you know. It's probably not a huge issue, but it's an issue for an idiot like me who just HAD to see if I could get back to any of the secrets I missed. | 2010-02-10 14:07:00 Author: xkappax Posts: 2569 |
Just a heads up, I managed to break it too, but its nothing complicated. The yellow & green circles.....i dragged the yellow one over, it went into the green pocket so I pulled it out, and it flipped over my head, over the yellow pocket and down onto the beach below. I've played this loads, it definitely gets a place in my all time faves. I still want to have a leisurely walk through to admire the scenery but i just can't help ploughing through, its so flippin' playable. Did the race run last night, and zoomed up onto the top spot, sorry AJ. ; ) | 2010-02-10 16:12:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
Did the race run last night, and zoomed up onto the top spot, sorry AJ. ; ) I am coming for you tonight Jules, when I get off work to reclaim my Throne! Has anyone found all the Gems yet? I have found all but 1...and I will find it if I have to fly over the **** pond to find Gruntosuk and force it out of him!! LOL | 2010-02-10 16:36:00 Author: AJnKnox Posts: 518 |
You have outdone yourself here Grant. Well done mate. EDIT: Oh, the slingshots were cool. I can see how some people might find them frustrating but I liked them. And the book at the end was fantastic. Fancy posting what you took out of it here for us? Thanks for the comments Jack, glad you enjoyed it. I'm pleased it lives up the first, which I know was your favourite level of mine I fixed the problem you had, the magic mouth was'nt attached to a perm, and I added some text and zoomed the camera in a little more, the switch is a lot more visible now, thanks for pointing it out Grant, I thought I"d tell you that Morgana and I broke the level last night because I did something really stupid. Sigh. I don't even want to tell you what I did, because it's really idiotic. It could happen to other people to Sara so I'm glad you came across it. I've blocked the path back now after a certain point so it won't happen again. Thanks for finding it. Anyway, its all fine now. Thanks for comments again everyone, the level will hopefully be bug free soon I found another shortcut that let you skip almost all of the level, I'm pleased I got that before anyone else found it and exploited it with the race gates | 2010-02-10 19:59:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |

Just finished it today! I tried my best to get all the jewels, and I thought I did really well until I realized at the end I only found 7 out of 12!!! So here are some quick thoughts: Pros: - Great use of the layer glitch - Your level was really well planned out - I loved going back and forth - Secrets are always fun - I laughed every time I heard KaZAAAAH!! - The sling shots were a really cool idea - although sometimes difficult to use, but a few tries usually did the trick - For some reason I was obsessed with moving the barrels around - I thought for sure there was a secret because sometimes you can move them, and other times they're stuck .. I uploaded a picture for your amusement - DETAILS! this level was unbelievably detailed. I was shocked at the amount of stickers you fit in - I like the idea of giving a race option for replayability - The humor was great.. I could see a couple people 1-staring you because you were clearly aiming the humor at them, but I think everyone here at LBPC will appreciate it - I like when creators put in 'smart' elevators. It was a refreshing sight when the elevator came back for me after I fell off. Cons: - It's not easy to come up with a con or two after a level like this. I only have one suggestion, and it's a really small nit pick: when you use sounds, such as bird sounds (in the beginning), I wouldn't just slap the speaker down so that it's activated by player proximity (unless it's a clue, and if that's the case, ignore me). It would feel much more natural if you put it to some logic so it would seem that the birds are singing 'randomly'. Like I said, it's a small nit pick, but with a level of this caliber and attention to detail, I think it would only make it better... even if only a few players like myself would notice it Also, just FYI - I didn't run in to any bugs.. but I also wasn't trying to break the level. Overall: 5:star:'s and a heart! | 2010-02-10 22:57:00 Author: Powershifter Posts: 668 |
This is an awesome level but I have come across a problem. I have managed to find all 12 jewels twice but each time I'm blocked from reaching the scoreboard. It happens near the end of the level. I'll use spolier tags just in case it gives too much away. If I pull the switch to which you get access by destroying the last totem (the cutscene one) and then go and get the last jewel, the path which the switch unblocked is blocked off again and there is no way past. I'm going to have another go because I really want to get to the end with all the jewels but this time I'll collect the last jewel before I activate the switch. I hope that works, lol! Ideally though you should be able to do it in either order, especially as you are prompted to go for the switch after the cutscene. I didn't have the problem last night when playing so maybe it's a result of something you did to fix Sara's problem. Sorry if this sounds negative. I think your level is brilliant and I've had enormous fun playing it! EDIT: No luck...details below No, didn't work doing it the other way round either. This time I got the last jewel first and then did the switch which triggers the cutscene. The switch down below in the water then simply didn't remove the barrier. It looks like there's now no way to finish the level if you get that last jewel. I may be missing something.... | 2010-02-11 00:48:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
@powershifter thanks for giving me the feedback, much appreciated. I actually never thought of activating sounds like that. I'll see if there's thermo to spare because I could use this in a few places around the level. @shropshirelass I'm sorry you couldn't finish the level and had the kindness to reattempt it. You're right, when I fixed up the bug kappa found it cause this problem. It's now fixed and working again. Once again sorry for making you trek through the level and then not being able to finish, although you are the first to find all 12 Apologies for being brief with the replies, on my phone and late for work | 2010-02-11 07:17:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |

Yeay! All?s well that ends well...I whipped through the level again and this time got to the end with no problems! Photographic evidence of the 12 gems has been uploaded. Mission complete, lol! *collapses in heap* Anyway, now I've caught my breath I just wanted to say what a great level it is. I think you?ve got the balance of puzzling, platforming and adventure story just right. Fantastic visuals too. The more you play it the more you notice lovely details in the background. Good use of the 3D glitch too ? not too obtrusive and adds nice depth to the level. I thought the gems were a great idea, particularly the way that many of them were not hidden but were tantalisingly visible and you just had to work out how to get them. I also loved the ?Huzzah!? sound when you got one ? made me smile each time. (BTW the one near the green and yellow balls stopped giving you any score bubbles a day or so ago.) 5 stars and hearted ? one of my favourite levels ever! | 2010-02-11 18:30:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
Anyway, now I’ve caught my breath I just wanted to say what a great level it is. I think you’ve got the balance of puzzling, platforming and adventure story just right. With any justice you'll be causing havoc with this on the Cools this weekend. The first one made it to page 1 and this one will as well. Anyways, I tried posting my feedback yesterday night but when I made my post the site gave me an error. So I'll do it now, I thought the level was epic in every way, the visuals were great as were all the puzzles and underwater gameplay. Going into the level I found the icon was really well made the opening part of the level was stunning, the materials all blended well together. The sling shot contraptions were probably my favorite part, I found them to be highly original and above all it was fun to throw the red circles. Uncharted is one of my favorite game so series so I was happy you made this level, it's a nice twist on the game. The level retains the name yet has nothing to do with the actual game, instead you opted to go with a very funny story that is clearly a success. 5 Stared and a big Heart. :] | 2010-02-12 03:55:00 Author: TheFirstAvenger Posts: 787 |
Immaculate the whole way through. Unlike endless echo though I didn't really care for the slingshot thing. I didn't DISlike it. I just thought it was a little too much for my personal taste. 5 star level though. Really fantastic. | 2010-02-12 05:08:00 Author: ezBadfish Posts: 52 |
What to say? Just amazing. The only problem I had was with the first couple of rotating spiked thingy's. I couldn't see myself for most of the rotation. I think I was in real dark shadows. Oh, I forgot to post here after I played it! Well, as usual, it was a great, long, back-tracking, puzzle-full level from Grantos! Wonderful mechanics, great platforming too. The catapult idea, which was indeed a bit tiresome, was a nice little addition to the level. I ended up landing in 7th on the scoreboard, as of then, and found about six gems or something. It was a just a joy to play. The only thing I ran into was at the part where the water first turns yellow. I'm doing this from memory, so please bear with me. Well you jump out of a hole int the hall that leads you to the fisrt totem(?), and there is a gem decoration behind sackboy, a two-way switch to the left, and the hallway to the totem to the right. So I jumped and I layer-switched to the back layer, that was supposed to be blocked off and unreachable until later in the level, and I went left and pulled the switch. The water, which was still yellow, filled the chamber and made the totem float to the top. I couldn't pull the totem down or move on further in the level. So I swam down the shaft that I'd come out of in the beginning and ran into the poison. There is my only problem I ran into. I hope that made sense; sorry for my vagueness. Anyway, great 5-star level, which indeed earns you another heart! | 2010-02-14 15:39:00 Author: piggabling Posts: 2979 |

I'm really, really sorry but it looks as if the level is being affected by bugs. I had the water rise on me just after doing the puzzle with the green and yellow balls. As soon as I put the grey ball in the statue's mouth it seemed to trigger the speech bubble/cut scene for the switch you get access to after the final totem is destryed. The water rose but when I swam to the right into the room with the cannons it went back down and I could proceed as normal. However when I later reached the cannon you need to fire to get access to the hidden switch, the cannon simply would not fire and I could not finish the level. Hope it is something you can fix! It would be a cryimg shame if something went wrong with the level! | 2010-02-15 01:02:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |
Bril level, loved it all the way to the end! The back tracking in this level was fantastic. I'd see something and think "I know I need that later..." I wasn't affected by any bugs, though the catapault could be a bit frustrating when ammo didn't spawn. Positioning of the gems was very good, I mised a few, but saw where I went wrong when I passed that part in the level again. 5 stars and a heart, probably my favorite level on LBP right now. | 2010-02-15 03:32:00 Author: srgt_poptart Posts: 425 |
The level is just randomly breaking at different random points throughout. I've locked the level until I can fix it. Unfortunatly it might he the 160 hour bug, and unfixable without losing plays and comments | 2010-02-15 07:15:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Bummer.... but you shouldn't need to lose plays and comments regardless. Even if you have to move the entire level into another level, you can still publish the new level over the old slot. Actually, I was thinking of doing this myself.... publish Tiger Woods Mini Golf, get it to page 1, and replace it with Vertigo... If you need any help testing, let me know. | 2010-02-15 13:10:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Oh nooo. I've been there Grant, i know how you feel. If you're at the point of exasperation just take break from the level. If it IS the 160 bug, i know the thought of moving it all over into a new moon is horrendous, but if its any consolation, once you make a start its actually not as epic a job as you think it'd be. I know it's crap like this that stretches your create enthusiasm to breaking point, but try and get a little solace in knowing it's an amazing level and worth the few days hassle, eh. I totally empathize with anyone that has to go through this rubbish. | 2010-02-15 13:20:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
The level was functioning fine until I made a few fixes at the start of the weekend and the problems started from there so I reckon I'm probably little more than minutes over the limit The whole thing is glued together to for some reason, so I'm gonna have to capture the lot and move it. It's probably over the complexity limit of captured objects to so maybe not even possible to resolve | 2010-02-15 13:32:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Wow... so sorry to hear that Grant!! The 160 hour bug is a horrible thing and has driven me to build most things in workshops and not even allowing the real level in play mode at all except for a gravity check and then rewind. I didn't have any issues during the 3 or 4 times I played it, though I did think there might have been some juddery pistons or at least the beginnings of that the last time I played. I wasn't sure if it was the level or just an issue on my end. Sorry to hear it is really the 160 hour bug. Dang.. well.. at least I should leave you some feedback as I must have again forgotten to post until now! Just been so busy that I forgot! Brilliant level for sure. It is freeking massive. Looked more like a 20 story office complex than a level! The backtracking, the puzzles the fun with a slingshot were awesome fun. I think one of you best ones yet to be honest! I loved the combination of water puzzles and platforming intermixed with all the other dry segments. Fun bits of the water level raising and lowering defining the next array of platforming and puzzles! Just awesomely cool and loved all the colors. Just made it fun and festive! You are one evil human on hiding secrets!! 20 stars and 10 hearts! Really hope you are able to fix it all and keep me posted if you need any help testing. Good luck! | 2010-02-15 13:37:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Hmmm. How long did you spend tweaking un-paused last time? If it was only a real short time then i'm not sure it's the 160 bug (at least not the one I'm familiar with). The level takes a good while to finish, if it was already that close to the time limit i'd have thought it would have been already kicking in for anyone that spent a long time playing through...... | 2010-02-15 13:45:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
There's been rumors that the 160 hour bug isn't really a 160 hour bug at all, but rather could be a result of the complexity of the level. Maybe copy it to another level, remove a bit of it, and see if the issue goes away. | 2010-02-15 13:49:00 Author: CCubbage Posts: 4430 |
Hey Gruntos, Well after we talked last night I had another play through and this time when I got to the section with the second cannon you fire...it wouldn't So thats three times in a row something has gone wrong...twice it was in the room with the floating crates, then the cannon before I could even get there. I did manage to get the number 2 spot earlier, but I want the TOP spot dang it! Love the level I hope it survives all this Good Luck | 2010-02-15 14:52:00 Author: AJnKnox Posts: 518 |
There's been rumors that the 160 hour bug isn't really a 160 hour bug at all, but rather could be a result of the complexity of the level. Maybe copy it to another level, remove a bit of it, and see if the issue goes away. Possibly, but from my experience, I got hit by the 160 hour bug and it wasn't due to level complexity at all. I flat out let it play for waaaay too long in create. The level that got by the bug for me was Tiny Town. That isn't that complicated at all unless a huge fast roller coaster is complicated! The only complication is the zillion too many vertices as I was still drawing with the circle tool for landscape bits. There may be ANOTHER bug that looks like the 160 hour bug due due to too complex or possibly too many moving parts, which that may be where your rumor might have come from. | 2010-02-15 15:22:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |

Are you re-publishing or going over the old one Grant? Seems a shame you might have lost a fair few hearts on a level this good. EIther way, I'm itching to get another shot at beating Shropshire Lass' hi score. I dunno how she did it! | 2010-02-23 18:42:00 Author: julesyjules Posts: 1156 |
I used a 60% complete version I had backed up to the hard drive when I was offline Jules, I'd completely forgotten about it. I used the published one and took the new sections from it and pieced them in. I probably saved hours off the clock because I didnt need to test anything or play around for more than a few minutes. Because it was an earlier version it saved all the stuff when I republished AJnKnox has beaten the score BTW | 2010-02-23 18:53:00 Author: GruntosUK Posts: 1754 |
Hey... got a chance to play it through and found no huge issues! Success!! Few minor notes.. Looks a bit darker in some places like around the rising slingshot section The gas around the box to box jump is a bit mistimed with the water rising so the gas shows before the water gets all the way up during each rise of those. Oh.. and even though I found a few more secrets this time, it still showed I was missing 4 and my score still wasn't that great. Nice recovery!! Congrats! | 2010-02-23 21:54:00 Author: jwwphotos Posts: 11383 |
Played it, no problems to report! I took longer than necessary too, just incase, but its all good. Well done. : ) The only thing you might wanna tinker with is the main catapult (on the raft). That's excellent news! Well done! You must be particularly pleased after all the trouble you had with the level breaking and so on. Great stuff! | 2010-03-09 16:41:00 Author: shropshirelass Posts: 1455 |

I completely forgot to give this level a nice feedback but I finally get a chance to after sending a feedback to your recent level.I played it 2 months ago and I played it again yesterday [This time in a race way] and I am impressed with the level design and the puzzles that kept you busy while exploring the ruins. I loved the idea of the slingshot puzzle and the level design didn't just reminded me of the "Uncharted" game series but it also reminded me of the first "Crash Bandicoot" game. Amazing level. FORGOT SOMETHING: I came in 5th place in the scoreboard yesterday. | 2010-05-06 00:33:00 Author: JustinArt Posts: 1314 |
