A survival level with what i hope is much closer to the final visual style for the techno section for my series; i released this to keep you all entertained while i develop part 2 and improve part 1!
F4Fs are fine of course, though i don't do horror levels. A personal thing.

Actually not too hard, there's some kinda tricky jumps and stuff in there but overall not too hard (at least from my and my brother's perspective). If you give me about 15 minutes or so i'm going to patch it to include some fixes!2010-02-09 02:56:00

Finally, a survival level worth playing. Although the music that is playing is IMO one of the best and worth the 3.99, I couldn't help but feel that there should be a more appropriate song. With a level like this, there is always room for change (such as a lights out event where the player has to really on lights). EDIT: Still playing it and I found something I don't like: the gas on the side of the walls. I wouldn't have a big problem with it if only you didn't have a set up here you literally HAVE to touch the wall to move up. EDIT: Why didn't you heart your own level? Anyways, I did and I also get the high score.

I also reviewed your other level (part 1): Short and sweet. I didn't think it was all that challenging until the rotating sponge/fire ovals. It was tough but not too tough and a lot of fun. This is a great first level (better than mine) and I had a great time playing it. Just a thought but about halfway through the level, you placed some led lights. It created a sort of blur and I think that it would be interesting to change the lightings there (make it more dark maybe).

Anyways, great levels and I would like to play part 2 of your other level. My level is about zombies...but I don't think you'll find it all that scary

Glad to hear you liked it! I'll add that lights out idea, i rather like it

Have any other suggestions for music? not sure what else would work...

Hmm, i think i can convert the sides to non-lethal, i'll work on that too.

Also glad to hear you liked my other level!

Literally published an update 10 minutes or so ago, it fixes a couple of bugs and increases the score injection rate!

i'll look at it, though i don't make any guarantees...

Yeah, I was cought in the middle of that update. If it helps, it is on thefar left side. It's when there is a platform like this: _-- But the -- overrides the _ too much and you can't continue. Music recommendations: The Hunter (from the MGS pack), Dancing Drums, Girly Goodie Two Shoes, Atlas, Rock the Jungle, and Skipping Syrtaki.2010-02-09 04:10:00

I'll try those, and take a look at the problem. I have 6 platforms:

1:
---______________---
---____________---

2:
----___----___----
---___---___--- ___---

3:
---__ff___ff___ff ---
---___ff___ff___---

4:
-------------------------
--________________--

5:
--___---___--
ss________ss

F is for fire "_" is space, and S is for swingy. They're not exact, but you get the idea.

Which platform (or combination of platforms) caused the problems?
Edit: hang on, the spaces got deflated out of my post

Maybe that'll help. Thing is, it's fine on the other side. Also, sometimes the level just stops and it won't keep falling.

That other bug is odd.

The pic does help, i know exactly which platform combo is causing that. I think i can fix it with a minimum of difficulty. As far as it being fine on the other side, is that because you have enough room to jump on the side?

really cool and innovative survival challenge! A nice change from the ones that plague the cool levels section. Hopefully yours does as well as theirs does!

I think that you should have a camera in the center of the room that zooms out all the way and doesn't track the player, so that they can better see where they are going. It would make the experience a lot more enjoyable and improve the game play a great deal, in my opinion. The point bubbles are also a little too random for my liking. instead of spawning with the platforms they just sorta shoot out of the sides, making it less strategic and more luck based. If they spawned with the platforms it would add a whole new level of skill to the challenge, i think. also, the platforms that are right next to the edges of the stage are sort of tricky because they're very close to the gas wall, making them really difficult to navigate.

Anyhow, awesome level! with some tweaking it could be a real blast to play!

I'm reworking the platforms, so hopefully that will fix most of the problems.

I'm also planning on de-gassing the walls, adding a lights-out thing, and who knows what else!

Though it will take a while...

Hey RCIX played your level yesterday and liked it a lot.
For me its very innovative, never played a survival like it.
I will try it again since it seems you made some adjustments.
I'll second what Duffluc said about the fixed camera, I think it would be very nice.
But even the way I played earlier I liked xD.
Well done, congrats!

When I mean said fine, I meant that the other side was different so that you can pass.2010-02-09 22:17:00

Thought i'd update you guys on how my "dev" copy was coming. I have good news and bad news:
* Good news is there's an awesome new set of platforms, including such cool things as micro-explosive sections, sliding platforms, and much more!
* Bad news? i've pushed the thermo (at least the moving objects one) to within a centimeter of it's life, and it's highly unlikely that i'll get anything else in other than the fixed camera (if that, due to playfield size).
Give me a few more days then i'll release it. Due to the new set of platforms and general improvements, should i release this as a new level?
