Is it worth, when having the PS3 version?

Archive: 9 posts

Hello. I've got the PS3 version, and It's very nice. The only thing is, that I believe it could be nice to have the PSP version also. But I have some questions.

Is the community great and big(not as much as the PS3, but close?)?
I've tried the Demo, and as I see, it has only got 2 layers. Is it like that for the full game?
Are you going to spend money on packs just as the PS3 version?
What big difference is their between the collectors edition and the normal edition?

Yeah, I'm interested in the PSP version as well.... Is it worth it? I've tried the demo, but what I really want to know is how useful the creation mode is. Is it as easy as the PS3 version?

I'm thiiiiiiis close to buying it.

1. I don't think it's as big as the PS3 community, but the advantage of that is that it's easier to get noticed. I try to play every level I see announced on this PSP forum, and I'm not the only one.
2. Yes, but 2 layers is totally workable.
3. Yes, there's already a caveman themed pack, plus they split up Creator Edition content.
4. The Collector's Edition lets you download all 8 backgrounds and interactive music tracks, most of the materials and costumes, and quite some stickers from the PS3 game (see https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=20256-Contents-of-European-Special-Edition-already-available!). And because they weren't able to deliver the content on time they gave away some extra preorder costumes, too. IMHO the CE fills some areas where the PSP is weaker (like wood types), so if you have the choice, I recommend the CE.

@TheJollyRajah: Create Mode is not as easy as in the PS3 version, I must say. You can do a lot of things you can do on the PS3, but it's more work. For instance, you can't copy, you can capture only fairly simple objects, and when you do, they can't be edited (but Gilgamesh found a workaround). This means you will build the same things from scratch a number of times. Same goes for a lot of stuff, it's possible but you lack some of the more convenient tools (I hear they're working on copy and mirror tools).

Not worth it imo. If you have the PS3 version it just makes the PSP version look so poor, especially creating which is atrocious. You can buy my PSP copy if you like because I hate it and won't be bothering with it again.2010-02-07 02:28:00

Okay thanks for all the answers. I'm still not sure about buying it, because 40? is much for a game, that I'm not so sure about playing much. Maybe I'll buy it when it's cheaper.2010-02-07 09:43:00
