Heavy Machinery by LeuraZ

I decided to share some pictures of my latest creations. I've been working on several vehicles and machines based on their real life counterparts. They're quite big compared to the tiny Sackperson, but in my opinion, it looks nice that way, when there are big machines for Sackperson to operate. Well, let's show you some pics, from oldest to latest: This is my first one. A wheel loader, which is not based on anything particular machine. I learned alot while making this. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/My%20first%20one/Wheelloader.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/My%20first%20one/Wheelloader2.jpg My second one. PistenBully 600 Polar. I got the inspiration to model this after watching some skiing on television. I had to fight with the tracks, but got them working after a while. I also figured out, that the corner edit tool is very useful. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/PistenBully%20600%20Polar/PistenBully600Polar3.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/PistenBully%20600%20Polar/PistenBully600Polar7.jpg Let's move on to the third machine. Manitou MHT 10210 telescopic handler. This was quite a piece of...work. I had to tweak the boom quite much, before I got it to work. It also took some time to place all the pistons correctly on both sides. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Manitou%20MHT%2010210%20L%20Turbo/ManitouMHT10210LTurbo1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Manitou%20MHT%2010210%20L%20Turbo/ManitouMHT10210LTurbo2.jpg Well, the fourth. Caterpillar 14M motor grader. This was a very straightforward machine to make, because all it has to do is move. Of course it has some moving parts, but the idea is simple. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Caterpillar%2014M/Caterpillar14M28.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Caterpillar%2014M/Caterpillar14M2-1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Caterpillar%2014M/Caterpillar14M3-1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Caterpillar%2014M/Caterpillar14M11-1.jpg Fifth. I like making material handling equipment, since they tend to have more moving parts (more problems), and they're more "useful", I could say. That's why I made the Kalmar DRF450-75C5XS reachstacker. This was also used in my entry to the CC09. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XS11.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XS2.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XSSpreader.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XS1-1.jpg And my latest one. It continues the same line as the previous. I've seen many forklifts in LBP and decided to make one more. Kalmar DCD320-12. This was quite easy to make after I made the reachstacker, since I could use the same cab and got the dimensions to match easier. http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DCD320-12/KalmarDCD320-122.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DCD320-12/KalmarDCD320-121-1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DCD320-12/KalmarDCD320-125-1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DCD320-12/KalmarDCD320-125_1.jpg That's all for now. I haven't made a level for them all, but I guess I'll do a showcase of some sort, when I have some spare time. I also have to say that I've become addicted to the grid... It's your friend. ![]() Update 26.2.2010 Just finished something new - HITACHI ZW220 wheel loader. I thought that I could give a try and make a proper wheel loader. There might be some improvement between my first wheel loader and this. ![]() Before: http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/HITACHI%20ZW220/Woot3.jpg And after: http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/HITACHI%20ZW220/HitachiZW22029.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/HITACHI%20ZW220/HitachiZW22030.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/HITACHI%20ZW220/HitachiZW22032.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/HITACHI%20ZW220/HitachiZW22033.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/HITACHI%20ZW220/HitachiZW22034.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/HITACHI%20ZW220/HitachiZW22035.jpg Update 2.4.2010 Ach, I've been quite busy with this one. A Volvo EW230C wheeled excavator. There's a lot of excavators out there, and now there's one more. Starting point: http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230C.jpg And finished machine: http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230C36.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230CBack.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230CDigging.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230CBoomampArmReached.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230CBucketTeeth.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230CBucket.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230CBucketLifting2.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Volvo%20EW230C/VolvoEW230CBucketLifting5.jpg Update 18.5.2010 Junttan PM 25H Pile driving rig (More details on pg.2.) http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H52.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H50.jpg | 2010-02-02 18:50:00 Author: LeuraZ ![]() Posts: 20 |

Thanks. For now I only have the PistenBully, Manitou and Kalmar reachstacker in my levels. I'm working on a level to go with the Caterpillar and planning a level for the forklift. I took some pics for KernelM too: http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XSSpreader-1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XSPickingcontai-2.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XSPickingcontai-1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XSLandedoncontaine.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XSLoweringconta-1.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Kalmar%20DRF420-60S5%20-%20Kalmar%20DRF450-75C5XS/KalmarDRF450-75C5XSPlacedcontainer.jpg | 2010-02-03 11:32:00 Author: LeuraZ ![]() Posts: 20 |

on the 1st 1 does the scoop stay level as it goes up/down No it doesn't. I made that when I just got the game, so I wasn't that experienced back then. ![]() (Look world, leuraZ is the stig!!! ![]() Shhhhh...!! Do you have them in a level to play around with ? Looking forward to testing them out Well. Let me announce to you: I've made three showcase levels for my machines. They feature all of the machines, except the Manitou, since it has some issues with the pistons. You can still use the Manitou in "LittleBIG Logistics, though. The levels are under the name "More Than Machinery 1 (2, 3)" You can find them by searching my PSN. Enjoy! ![]() | 2010-03-07 22:58:00 Author: LeuraZ ![]() Posts: 20 |

I am constantly amazed at some of the life like creations people can make with LBP. These are among some of the best I have seen. Great job, keep up the great work. | 2010-04-08 14:42:00 Author: HoBoZ ![]() Posts: 7 |
hi great work on the wheel loader and on the excavator.i was wondering if u try to make a quick hitch for the excavator so u can have different buckets.i try to make quick hitch for my excavator but it didnt work.So if u got any solutions pliz tell me. Any way i got a level name free_epic_vehicle u get an excavator a dump truck a sci fi armor truck and a sky ship.the level is youst a toturial for my vehicle check the excavator out and tell me what u think. | 2010-04-08 20:40:00 Author: soulriver ![]() Posts: 67 |
Thanks for the comments! I thought about making a quick fit system for the Volvo, but it seems that it would have been difficult to make it small and durable enough. I might take the Volvo and try to make it some day, but as of now, I wanted it to be durable to withstand the abuse it might take. It's somewhat hard to get the tiny parts to last long, but I should try it when I've got more time. Soulriver's excavator is also well detailed. I don't know if you modelled it based on any real life machine, but it still looks very real. The tracks also work very well. I'd however make the boom and arm a little bigger, as they now look somewhat small compared to the superstructure. Overall it works very smoothly. | 2010-04-09 15:04:00 Author: LeuraZ ![]() Posts: 20 |

LeuraZ thx for the post for my thread.i was wondering if u had any problems with your wheeld excavator i dont know wy but some times my excavators boom goes up and dawn by it self try it out if u want and tell me if the same think happens to you. | 2010-05-07 22:42:00 Author: soulriver ![]() Posts: 67 |
LeuraZ thank you i try everythink the problem was that the boom and the arm was touching a little bit and i made more room so the arm can go in and out and it fix my problem.with the blade the problem was that i didnt conect mid piston lol.thx for everythink. | 2010-05-08 15:42:00 Author: soulriver ![]() Posts: 67 |
INNCREDIBLE! You are the rz22g of heavy machinery! EDIT: soulriver, please don't double post. There is an edit tool in which you may edit posts instead of double posting. Thanks. ![]() | 2010-05-09 00:19:00 Author: JspOt ![]() Posts: 3607 |
You are a genius. How long did it take to make each one? It takes about a month or longer. I begin to think what kind of machine I'm going to make and is it even possible to do in LBP. After that I try to find enough pictures and videos of the machine to make the machine as accurate as possible. After that it's just trial and error, when I'm trying to make a block of wood into a proper shape and get the whole machine working like it should. And oh yes, sometimes that can really get my blood pressure up high, lol. ![]() LeuraZ thank you i try everythink the problem was that the boom and the arm was touching a little bit and i made more room so the arm can go in and out and it fix my problem.with the blade the problem was that i didnt conect mid piston lol.thx for everythink. You're welcome. I'm glad you got it working. INNCREDIBLE! You are the rz22g of heavy machinery! Thanks! And now I've got a little something something: A Junttan PM 25H pile driving rig It still needs few details and a proper level to go with, but other than that, it's ready. I had to cheat with the tracks, since they really couldn't handle the weight and vibration. And because I can't even make good tracks in LBP. (My weak spot) ![]() Some pictures for you to view: http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H52.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H50.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H53.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H55.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H64.jpg http://i839.photobucket.com/albums/zz320/LeuraZ/LBP%20Creations/Junttan%20PM%2025H/JunttanPM25H61.jpg I guess that's all for now. ![]() | 2010-05-18 21:00:00 Author: LeuraZ ![]() Posts: 20 |

Oh, well hello again, folks! I haven't forgotten you! Just managed to buy my copy of LBP2 in the middle of the week and thought it would just be the time to start building "little something something". I've been plowing snow like a madman for what, three months, I guess.
