Iron Boots Power-Up

You pick it, and you can walk on the bottom of water. If you have the boots out of water, you can't run (only walk) and your jump height is decreased a lot. Simple. I had this idea while thinking about making a Water Temple Level from Ocarina of Time... :kz: | 2010-02-02 15:03:00 Author: Flame Dragon Posts: 312 |
Wouldnt come to much use, as you would have a tough time surviving underwater if they slow you down. Maybe if you could walk at normal speed/up walls too would be cool | 2010-02-02 18:48:00 Author: Matimoo Posts: 1027 |
I like it, and make it so you can't dispel them inside the water unless you pass through a red cross thing... I could see where this would come in handy | 2010-02-02 18:49:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
sounds intresting and koo like the boots in legend of zelda. Except not magnetic or whatever they are. hehe | 2010-02-02 23:28:00 Author: Mangarocks14 Posts: 262 |
...this inst an enhancement....it impairs you drastically!! | 2010-02-03 00:09:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 Posts: 1924 |
only on the land... In the water it would give loads more gameplay especially with Enhancement stacking | 2010-02-03 08:28:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
So would normal layershifting rules apply underwater when wearing these? | 2010-02-03 09:19:00 Author: rtm223 Posts: 6497 |
I think so, But looking back, I think without the scuba and it would just be like walking underwater i think it would work | 2010-02-03 20:20:00 Author: Kern Posts: 5078 |
only on the land... In the water it would give loads more gameplay especially with Enhancement stacking lol enhancements are canceled under water, only other one to stack is the gear, in my view being pinned to the bottom is not an enhancement when you could be freely swimming, layer shifting would be kinda nice but i don't see too many applications | 2010-02-03 20:27:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 Posts: 1924 |
it would be a pretty good idea. you could have a magnetic material that makes the boots stick to it so you could walk on ceilings! that would be cool. | 2010-02-03 20:36:00 Author: trip090 Posts: 1562 |
yea then people would whine when metal material doesn't stick to it, so the magnetic property would have to be on the boots | 2010-02-03 20:41:00 Author: Littlebigdude805 Posts: 1924 |
But to be honest there is no point of it other than walking on walls and the ceiling. It'll be easier just to swim underwater without having something pulling you down! | 2010-02-03 20:42:00 Author: Pantyer2 Posts: 652 |
It's an interesting idea, really. It opens up a few new possibilities for underwater puzzles. For example, you could place a shallow puddle of water with some sponge blocks on a track on the bottom of the puddle's floor. The blocks would be on the back plane (obviously when standing you can switch planes, so it wouldn't be sensible for the Iron Boots to stop you from doing this) and you would have to walk onto the back plane and arrange the blocks in a certain order to open the path. Of course, you would put a sheet of thin glass on the front of the track so that sackpeople couldn't just swim over and switch planes by grabbing the blocks..Overall the puzzle would be fairly simple but still, another puzzle for one of those engaging platformer levels. Anyways Flame Dragon, I don't criticize you at all, it was a great thought. | 2010-02-06 06:01:00 Author: BooboosPiggy Posts: 24 |
