Lighting The DarknessScottHood I made a short level using the lighting objects in the gameand it's my first real attempt at making a proper level. I made it months ago but not many people have played it. I thought that by putting it on here, more people will play and give me feedback. I'm currently making another(hopefully better) lighting level so any feedback would be appreciated, thanks. | 2010-01-30 22:33:00 Author: ScottHood Posts: 1 |
Just checked it out and you've got some cool effects on showcase in that level. If I look at the level more as a lighting gallery and not an LBP level it's pretty cool. What I'd like to see is those effects used in a level where there's some interactivity or story or some goal to achieve. I did find two things I wanted to mention. The floaty blue lights that come down can kill you as they are electrified (in the back layer) maybe set it up so the player is forced to the front layer so this won't happen (unless you want to fry them then just ignore this) but it seemed odd that you could die in a lighting example level. The other thing is that photos don't show spotlights so the photo op you set up (which does look cool) won't be anything but a black box on the photo. Had to laugh as you've mastered the frame rate slowdown technique I'm sort of infamous for using in my levels too. Shadow spotlights + Glass = guaranteed slowdown. lol Cool work - keep it up. | 2010-01-30 23:39:00 Author: Morgana25 Posts: 5983 |
