Quetzcoatl rebirth

Archive: 24 posts

Hello everyone, I am a new member.
I want to present my new level.

The full title is "Quetzcoatl Rebirth:A little big sacrifice (3d Maya Adventure)-

This level required a month of work and contains a huge use of the 3dglitch and the new Water dlc.
We will venture into the mysterious Mayan world in search of an hidden treasure.
a mysterious story full of twists, some puzzles and many bosses to defeat.
I think it is really well done, especially for the graphic style and the dark atmosphere.

for this level I used all the thermometer.

Try it, I think you'll love it.

I will wait your comments!

Thank you! See you in LBP!

Hi Pirmaut, glad to see you made it here at last.

Unfotunately my PS3 has just suffered the "yellow light of death" and is now dead with my LBP disc stuck inside but I did manage to play your level before it happened and it is excellent. I'll just give you a quick summary:

+ Great design
+ Great puzzles with some originality
+ Good atmosphere,sounds and lighting
+ Good character design and movement
+ Fun to play and look at
+ Although I'm not particularly a fan of the layer glitch you did use it very well

- The chase at the end is impossible to collect all the bubbles because quetzacoatl moves faster than sackboy can run so I just kept dying

Overall : A brilliant level only marred by the chase at the end. If that were slightly slower it would be perfect.

I advise everyone to play it as it's a real gem.

Hi! Thanks for your feedback!

I just played this & enjoyed it very much. I got #1, woo! I thought the level had great atmosphere. Your pyramid looks great & you use fog to good effect. The puzzles were good. The creatures were GREAT! Animated very well & (more importantly) fun to fight.

I do agree about the chase at the end. You should slow it down a hair. And you might want to give the 1st sea monster less hitpoints, as that felt a tad repetitious. Small complaints that can be easily addressed.

You got a well deserved heart & I'll be sure to check out your other level later.

I really enjoyed playing your level this afternoon. The visuals were great with some nice use of the 3D glitch to give depth and atmosphere to your temple in particular. In fact the whole way you created atmosphere for the level with lighting and sound as well as the visuals was excellent. I loved the characters too. The angler fish was so cool as were the fighting mummies - that was one fun and original fight!

There were some nice puzzles too and the gameplay was varied so that while the level felt long, that was a good thing as there was always something new and interesting to do.

I agree with the points made by mistervista and DrunkenFist_Lee about the chase and the length of life for the angler fish but they are only minor nitpicks.

I haven’t played any of your levels before but if they are all as good as this one we’re in for a treat.

I had a lot of fun. Great work. 5 stars and hearted.

thanks a lot guys!!
you are too good to me...!!
I was about to leave LBP forever, because 'sometimes I feel that people would not notice my enormous efforts and commitment.
after sleepless nights dedicated to this fabulous game, I seemed to have lost only my time.
many thanks, your beautiful words give me the strength to continue and even better.

if you tell me the names of your levels, I will be 'happy to try it.
not all my levels are so 'good because some are the first that I created when I was a novice in Lbp and I am aware.
but some others are good as this or perhaps more....But here is a discourse of personal taste.

I will try to correct the things you said to me, although it will be very tough because the thermometer has reached the maximum.

Thanks again.

I've actually played your Sphinx series before this one so I had a pretty good idea of what I was in store for. I really do like the way you design vignettes in your levels. Some of the areas with the statues are designed so beautifully and lit wonderfully as well. I found a lot of these in this level. I Especially enjoyed the temple exterior with the 3d glitch and the area with the two statues in silhouette. You've got great areas like these and other spots that don't feel as planned to me. So as I play the level it feels like there's two or three levels combined in to one. Just a personal opinion on that though. I think you and I design similarly in a lot of ways though and I quite like your use of 3d, materials and lighting together. The platforming isn't hard but there were a few times I was at a loss as to where to go next. Seemed to happen a lot to me in the rooms where the blue fog and silhouettes were. The only other thing I could find an issues with is what MrVista already mentioned. The chase doesn't seem fair as you can't outrun him.

Other than those things I found the level very enjoyable. Keep creating

ok after playing levels by Kiminski, Luos-Desruc and now you I have a good mind not to create any more because seeing what you can do compared to what I can is leaving me quite depressed.

I don't even have to say anything about this level other than if you haven't played it...why not?

Thanks for the nice words.
I do not think you should be depressed.
I to be able to do these things it took me a long time and much patience
I'm sure that even you can do it.
but believe me I am very depressed because very few people play to my level and I can not understand this.
but no matter.
what matters is that the few that we played at least leave me some good reviews....

Now, however, I will take a little break from the creations and dedicate to test your levels.

thanks for the comments on my level "Ghost&Goblins",I wanted to add much more but the thermometer has allowed me...
even at the level "Quetzcoatl" I wanted it, especially in the part inside the pyramid, but I had to choose and I chose for the final boss.

if only the thermometer was a bit longer......!

This is the truth. It's not uncommon for lots of us to pour easily 100+ hours into one level to make it look good and play well. Plus, the more you build the better you get! Practice, patience, planning, and perfection - 4 P's for a creator to live by.

but believe me I am very depressed because very few people play to my level and I can not understand this.

You forgot the 5'th P: Publish. Remember, you only have a week to get your level recognized. Republishing is by far the best advertising you can do. New levels fall off the cool pages within 15 minutes or so. If you're not getting plays, its because people aren't having your level dangled in front of them.

if only the thermometer was a bit longer......!
It's plenty large, it's all about how you use it

Thanks for your advice!
then do you say to me and advised me to delete it and then republish it or simply move or edit above?
Thermometer to me is never enough, but maybe I have to satisfy......

Wonderful level! Really awesome views, especially the view outside the temple. I loved the water challenge and the puzzles to gain access. That part was nicely planned and executed although I think a bit more decoration could have really made it pop. You are probably at the top concerning shapes and objects, but usually one of the other thermometers still has quite a bit of room.

However, I have to echo what Morgana said. I felt like some rooms were well planned and executed, but a few others possibly not. I though in some cases the use of the foreground glitch didn't really gain you a whole lot except a wider camera angle and might have added a bit more focus to the platforming duties. I loved the fighting creatures as well as the fish. The end boss was cool, but I agree with the others that it needs to be slower as there is no way to outrun him.

Really nice level and hope to see more from you!

I gave it 4 stars and a heart

I will also take a look at your other one as you definitely perked my interest! Thanks so much for your feedback on my level!!

Thegide is speaking of just editing your level... move something like an off scene bit of dark matter somewhere and republish. ...also for your showcase here, you should add some pics!! Show it off!

Many thanks!
I will try to improve where you can 'do it with the hope that the thermometer will allow me.
I wanted to insert some more creature in the pyramid, above the first floor, but I had to choose between the final boss and I chose the boss.
By the beginning of the creation of the pyramid the thermometer was already nearly full and I do not know how I managed to make us all feel
Thank you for the suggestions and for the feedback!
even your levels seem very interesting and certainly I will try them....

I played it two days ago, and it was great!

Great polished visuals, with very good use of the extra layers glitch!
I also loved your characters, very well animated, like the mummies.

Globally, the gameplay was fun and smartly done!
I agree concerning the boss, you should slow it down a little...

I really enjoyed playing it!
